52 Ender

It was dark by the time Ender felt himself hauled off the horse, bound by his hands and feet with what he surmised were enchanted shackles. Typically steel in any form was quickly breakable, but the vampire found once the chains were attached, he was unable to budge the seemingly brittle clasps.

Ender assumed the grey-clad witch accompanying Greir had used her magical skills to remove the root bindings once his friends, and Caroline, had ridden away when he felt his feet inexplicably began to rise in the air. She managed to float him off the ground and toss his hulking form over the side of one of the horses like a ragdoll. Basla slapped the shackles on him, and no one paid any mind to the vampire until they stopped at nightfall.
