87 Aniyoh

Aniyoh rubbed her temples, trying to make sense of Lucian's words. She pursed her lips and shoved a stray curl away from her face while taking in a deep breath, willing the noise of the tavern to fade away into the background.

After a long moment, she finally spoke through gritted teeth, "Lucian, please tell me there is a reasonable explanation for all of this. Please."

She watched as Lucian leaned back into his chair and crossed his long arms across his chest. A sly smile spread across his face, and for a moment, Aniyoh thought to slap the expression right off his handsome head.

She knew the vampire was practically made of steel, and the impact would likely fracture her hand before actually hurting him, so she withheld her rage. The look she gave him probably conveyed the thought because he waved one of his slender hands in her direction before speaking.
