57 Aniyoh

She never feared vampires. Not really, Aniyoh thought to herself as she scrambled along the forest floor, attempting to regain her composure.

Until today.

The roar that escaped from Ender in the clearing had sent her reeling backward with every instinct she possessed, telling her to run far, far away from the vampire. As she pulled herself up, slowly keeping Ender in her line of sight, she began to brush the leaves and blades of grass that cling to her soft green dress. Standing among the flowers and trees did not soften his appearance at all, she observed. Instead, he looked all the more like a vicious predator, his features contorted in what she could only describe as pure hatred.

Ender was still breathing heavily when she approached him tentatively. They had escaped, narrowly, from the fort where Ender was held captive, and if anyone were pursuing them, then they would surely know their location now.
