New home

The trio could be seen outside of the city. Shin and Makomo did what they had to do there and came back out with extra.

"Master, was it really a great idea to leave the city?" Makomo asked.

"Would you prefer to stick around where the lord resides and bring possible attention to him or find a better place to live for now?" Shin asked.

"Mn, but where are we going to stay?" Makomo asked.

"I remember seeing an abandoned house when me and Yahaba were on our way to the city. We could stay there if that helps." Susamaru suggested, her 4 extra arms were gone by now and she had her orange kimono on.

"Lead the way." Shin said.

"This is the place!" Susamaru said excitedly.

They were in a forest quite far from the city, ahead of them was a two story house made of some white material and wood. The roof of the house was black.

It looked to be in perfect shape for something that was supposedly abandoned.

"Are you sure this place is abandoned Susamaru?" Makomo asked.

"Yep, Yahaba told me to forget about it but nobody ever put him in charge! So I explored the home and even the surroundings."  She replied with a proud look.

"Are you sure this place isn't haunted?" Shin asked blankly.

The two girls stiffly turned their heads towards him with anxious expressions on their faces.

"Don't be silly master, ghosts aren't real haha.." Makomo replied while moving her hands around.

"Mn! Mn! Even if this place was haunted I would have blown it down by now." Susamaru agreed with her new companion.

Shin rubbed the temples of his forehead. "Why are two demons afraid of ghosts?"

""We aren't scared!"" They both yelled together.

"And even if we were there's a good reason for it, you can't kill something that's already dead!" Susamaru yelled before looking back at the house with a slightly scared look.

Shin's expressionless look somehow became wise as he looked towards his two servants. "My relative Kokushibo once said. 'If it's in this world then it's killable, even if it's an immortal spirit seeking vengeance.'"

Susamaru looked at Shin with stars in her eyes. "Wha really?! He must've been a wise man for such words!"

Makomo looked at Shin slightly confused. "Did he really say that?"

"Probably." He replied.

*Creak~*

The three heard a creaking sound behind them. They all turned around to see the once closed door now wide open.

"It was probably just the wind." Shin said before walking into the house. "I'll check it out."

"Master, don't leave me!"  Susamaru ran after Shin into the home with Makomo following behind.

*Bang!*

The door slammed closed once they were all in making the two girls pull out their weapons. Shin sighed seeing this and went to explore the home.

The first floor had a living room, a kitchen, a sparring room, a bathroom, a bedroom with nothing but a bed and a drawer next to it, and a small hot spring in the backyard for some reason.

The second floor consisted of five other bedrooms and another bathroom, the girls following behind seemed to have lost the fear they had when they saw the rooms and immediately ran off to choose theirs.

Makomo's chosen room was blue and Susamaru's was some grey color. The two said they would change it if Shin decided to stay. Unlike the extra room downstairs, the ones upstairs were completely barren.

Shin took the biggest bedroom. The walls were green and the floor was some type of white, the color wasn't to his taste like the others so he planned to change it.

Though what did catch his attention was the balcony in the corner of the room that was facing the moon. He thought it would be a disadvantage at first but he told himself he could always block it out if needed.

After the demons explored the home they all went back downstairs. Shin noticed how Makomo was looking at a door that they hadn't entered yet. "Are you interested?"

Makomo nodded her head. "Mn, I was just thinking how we haven't been down there yet."

"Let's go then." Shin walked to the door with the two demons following and opened it. Behind it were some stairs leading down into a dark room.

The fear Susamaru and Makomo had forgotten came back with a vengeance, they didn't have time to complain since their master was already walking down.

When they reached the floor of the basement it was completely black nevertheless they were still able to see normally. It was huge with a couple of boxes sitting around.

A demon appeared from the darkness with a crazed look on its face before quickly going confused. "I'm going to eat you..alive?"

The girls felt their hearts skip a beat from the jumpscare the demon gave them.

'Welp he's dead.' Shin thought.

Just as he thought, Makomo hit the demon hard with her sword still in the scabbard. The demon was thrown onto the floor from the blow.

Susamaru ran to the side of the downed demon and began kicking him over and over again. Makomo didn't take long to join in.

"You piece of shit, how dare you almost give us a heart attack in our master's new home!" Susamaru yelled

"Mn! Mn!" Makomo made noises of agreement.

"B-but this is my home!" The demon desperately retorted.

The two refused to listen and continued to beat him.

With Susamaru's strength and Makomo's speed it didn't take long for the demon to begin crying with the sound of its bones breaking to resound through the room.

For Shin he just watched from the sidelines as the girls beat the demon, he didn't plan to stop them either.

By the end of it Makomo had cut the demon's head off. Shin didn't feel a single shred of pity for him.

You don't put two demons on edge and jump out at them suddenly.

After Makomo got rid of the ash that was left behind the trio checked the house for more surprises before going back to the city to pay a visit to many people's homes to 'borrow' some things.

The demons spent the entire night and day renovating their new home.
