3 Chapter Three ~ Encounters

"Hey, how long is this trip?" Hee Joon turns to Mona. " Why? Are you bored already?" Mona looked at the calendar. " Well, this trip is a month long. That's what we planned for. I used all my savings for this trip." She then walks over to her bag to take out her wallet. "Uh... Is today the third day? I don't know how long we're gonna last with the rest of this money." Mona takes out all her bills and started counting. " Hey, how much do you have?" Hee Joon looked up. "Hm... I'm not sure. Let me check." Hee Joon walks over to check his wallet that was laying on top of the nightstand. " I got, like $300 USD left. That's like $332,697.655 KRW. How long do you think it will last?" Hee Joon and Mona looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. Mona walks toward the bathroom while saying, "Don't tell me I have to find a job here. I don't even know how to speak Korean!" Hee Joon follows her. "Why? This is a vacation. Why are we gonna work? You crazy?"

       A week has gone by. Hee Joon and Mona have already spent all their money. "What should we do? I think we just used the last of our cash." Hee Joon walks up to the couch and grabs the remote. "Let's see what's on TV." Flipping through channel after channel and suddenly stops with a worried expression on his face. People talking and flashes from cameras were photo shooting this guy on TV. A line on the bottom of the screen states, "Hiring a nanny for Ivan Kim. Please contact us through email if interested. Ivan.kim@globalentertainments.com.

     Ivan kim, a Korean celebrity that has a kind heart with a curious personality that always acts tough in his appearance  but soft inside. He never goes by the rules that his manager has set for him. Ivan has many girls surrounding him but he never takes a glance at anyone. News media all over Korea can never find any scandals on him. He loves challenges and also loves having anything he cannot have too easily.

        Hee Joon takes the email down on his phone. "What's on TV?" Mona walks over to Hee Joon. "Eh, it's nothing. Do you want to go out for a walk? It's nice out today." While they were out, Hee Joon spotted a huge TV screen on the building playing the same commercial that he saw earlier. Hee Joon looks over to Mona. "Hey, let's play a game. Look at the lines on the floor and let's try not to step on any of them. Whoever loses has to pay for dinner!" He had to make sure she didn't see it. He ran in front of Mona to make sure she was keeping her head down.

Back at the hotel*

Mona walks over to the couch grabs a hold of the remote and turns it on. "I wonder what's on right now.." A loud thump came out of nowhere and woke Hee Joon up. "What happened?" Hee Joon tumbles and falls off the couch. "What's going on? What just happened?" Hee Joon looks around. Hee Joon sees Mona standing in front of the TV with the same commercial playing. Hee Joon quickly grabs the remote and switched the TV off. Then he grabs onto Mona's shoulders and guides her over to the couch to sit down. "Was that who I think it was? No! He can't be! He died! No! I need to find out!" Mona gets up from the couch and runs out of the hotel. 

Commercials are playing all over Korea. (If you are interested, please apply at Ivan.kim@globalentertainments.com.) "No... no... this is not happening." Tears start streaming down her face.  "Ah!" Mona tumbles over what looked like a foot. "Oh, um.. I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry." Her head was still down, tears dropping onto the person's shoe. A hand suddenly reaches forward towards Mona and grabs onto her chin to lift it up. "It's ok, you don't have to cry." A deep voice came from this gentle hand. Mona froze and was a little startled. It was hard to see this man's face because of the tears and the sun in Mona's eyes. This tall handsome guy with a bright smile on his face is looking straight at Mona. "My name is Ivan, watch where you are going next time." He starts to walk away. Mona grabs onto his hand and Ivan turns around to face Mona. The force was so strong that Mona slipped and fell into Ivan's arms. Mona looked up and got a closer look at this guy's face. Then tears started streaming down her face again. A gentle finger is placed onto Mona's face and wipes away her tears. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Mona shook her head and did not say a word. Then she pushes herself off of Ivan's arms. "I'm so sorry, I think I should go." Mona turns away. "Wait! " Ivan runs after Mona. "What's your name?" Mona did not turn around nor did she answer the question.

       The sky is dark and filled with sparkling stars. Mona has been walking the whole day thinking about Ivan. Suddenly, she arrives in front of the bus stop, walks over and sits down. A girl around her teens started watching something on her phone. "That deep voice again," Mona thought. She looks over to the teen and saw Ivan on her screen. "No.. no.. this can't be. Why is this guy everywhere?" Mona gets up and started running. She doesn't even know where she was running to. She just knew she had to get out of there. After a few minutes of running, Mona felt drops hitting her head. "What? Rain? But it was just so nice a few minutes ago.." Mona thinks to herself. The sprinkle turned into a downpour. But Mona continued to run in the rain. She starts slowing down and begins to walk. Not paying attention at all, she had walked out into the streets. A bright light beamed straight at Mona. Screeching tires and horn honking. Mona turned towards the bright light. A sudden force had pushed Mona out of the way. "What were you doing? Why are you not paying attention?" Mona turns and looks at who was yelling in her face. It was Hee Joon. Mona bursts into tears and hugs Hee Joon, crying and talking at the same time. "Why? Why? I don't believe this. This is not happening." Hee Joon straightens Mona. "What are you talking about? What's going on?" Mona looks at Hee Joon. "I bumped into that Ivan guy that looks exactly like Ken! And I know that it's impossible but I know I really saw him."
