13 Chapter Thirteen ~ Cinderella

~Jae's school~

The car pulls up to the school building that is built with bricks, painted in red and white. The school name Soul Academy imprinted in the front of the school building. An English Korean K-12 school. Mona and Jae looks out the window starring at the school building. "This school looks really nice!" Mona said excitedly while looking at Jae. Jae rolls his eyes at Mona and then opens the door to get out of the car. Children screaming, running around the playground.

*Ring ring*

The bell rings, all the students lined up at the yard. Mona follows behind Jae trying to catch up. Jae turns around and shouts at Mona. "Hurry up! Dont get me late!" Mona quickly runs to catch up to Jae. "This is so annoying!" Jae mumbles under his breath. Suddenly one of the kids ran into Jae. "Hey, watch it!" Jae glares at the little kid and the kid runs away. Jae brushes his arm. "I hate this place." He whispers to himself.

"Class, I would like to introduce everyone to Jae Kim. He have just transferred from America. Jae stands in front of the classroom and bows. "You can take your seat over there." The teacher points to the back of the classroom where two seats are next to each other. Jae walks over to the back and Mona follows behind him. The whole class started starring at Mona, wondering who she is. One kid whispers to the kid behind "who is that lady?" The other kid shakes their head. "I don't know." Jae turns around and glares at the kids before sitting down in their seats.

*Ding*

Mona takes out her phone, unlocked it to see the message from the text.

["How is Jae doing in class?"

"Make sure if he gets in trouble to notify me immediately."]

After reading the messages, Mona quickly puts her phone away and looks over to Jae. Jae rolled his eyes and looked over to the teacher.

Meanwhile back in Hee Joon's office, he is still searching for Mona. He is waiting impatiently for his assistant to come back with any news of her whereabouts. His phone rings, Hee Joon picks up his phone. "You got any news yet?" Waiting impatiently over the phone for the answer. "Yes, I think we have found her. But we need to confirm." Hee Joon walks over to his desk and grabs a pen."give me the address, I'll go confirm myself ."

Back at the school, Mona is trying really hard to learn Korean so she can help Jae if he get stuck on his assignments. She took notes down on her notebook.

{Annyeong Haseyo - hello}. {yu - milk}

The bell rings, class is dismissed. A group of kids walked up to Jae and Mona. "Who's that lady? Is she your mom? They laughed and giggled while attempting to tease Jae. "No! She's my nanny!" They all laughed together. "You need to bring a nanny to school with you?" Jae turns to face Mona. "Why do you have to follow me everywhere I go?"Jae grabbed his backpack and runs out of the classroom. Mona runs out calling Jae's name down the hall, Jae was no where to be seen. She searches for Jae and thinks to herself "maybe I should tell Ivan." Mona takes out her phone and starts to dial. Then she stops and thinks "I can do this, if I can't even keep an eye on that kid, how am I suppose to be his nanny?"

Searching through each level, Mona finally finds Jae crying on the stairs. "Jae, are you crying?" Jae wipes his tears. "Go away!" He sniffles. "I'm not going away just because you tell me to. I am in charge of you and that is what I have to do." Then Mona sits down next to Jae. "Why do I have to go to this school? Why do I have to be in Korea?" Mona pauses and gently smiled before speaking. "Because your father loves you. He is making sure that you'll have the best future he can ever give you. " Jae wipes his nose. "I was fine with my mom in America." Mona questions Jae. "Were you?" Jae looks up. "Of course I was! I had friends and no one thought I was weird." Mona moved herself a little closer to Jae. "Well, I don't think you're weird." Jae turns the other way. "Who cares about you!" Mona pauses and then she continues to speak. "I think you're a very smart kid. You're brave and you speak your mind. The fact that you're able to come all the way from America to Korea by yourself is amazing. I didn't even know what an airplane was when I was 7." Jae giggles and stops after realizing he shouldn't be laughing. "Come, lets go home." Mona stands up and reaches her hand out to Jae to help him up. Jae grabbed her hand and gets up from the step. While walking out of the school, Jae whispers to Mona. "You better not tell my dad what happened." Then he walks in front of her. Mona smiles and followed behind.

At the entrance of the school, the assistant is already waiting in his car for Jae and Mona. He gets out of his car when he saw the two coming. Then he opens the door for both of them to get in. "We have an event to attend to. I have set up your outfits in your rooms. Please be ready by 7pm and I will be back to pick you two up." The assistant starts the car to head home. "What about Ivan?" Mona asks. "Boss will meet us there." The car arrives in front of Ivan's house. Both Jae and Mona gets out and heads inside. "Don't forget 7pm!" The assistant shouts out the window before he drove off.

Mona picks up her gown that was laying on her bed. Its long and classy with an open V back. Mona holds it up and places it in front of her looking at the mirror. "How can I possibly be able to put something like this on?" Mona throws the dress on the bed. Then she remebered what the assistant said.

"Make sure you're ready by 7pm!"

Mona walks over and grabs the dress to change into it. Moments later there was a sudden knock on her door. Mona walks over to see who it was. A gang of maids rushed into her room. Mona doesn't  even know what is going on, she froze until one of the maids sat her down on the chair in front the mirror. "Ma'am,  we are here to get you ready for the event. One of the maids is fixing Mona's hair, another one is giving her a manicure and another is giving her a make over. "Wow this feels like im in a fairytale.  Like cinderella." Mona thinks to herself while looking straight at the mirror not recognizing herself.

After hours, the maids have finally finished. Mona soon overhears a maid talking, "yes sir. she is ready."Mona gets up from the chair and walks over to the full body mirror to look at herself. The glistering sparkles reflecting on her dress from the lights in her room, making her look like a princess from a fairtale.

Honking noise from outside startles Mona and Jae's attention. Jae gets out of his room and walks over to Mona's door. Knocks on it. "Are you ready?" He demands. Mona opens the door and Jae opens his mouth wide. "W..what happened to you?" Jae stutters. "Do I look funny?" Jae turns around. "Yea, you look weird." Mona looks at herself. "Should I change?" Jae grabs Mona's hand. "Lets go! We dont have time for you to look pretty. Who will look at you anyways?" Both Jae and Mona walks out to the car. The assistant was in shock how gorgeous Mona look. He opens the car door for her and Jae.

The car pulls up in front of a 5 star hotel. Red carpet rolled out on the stairs for their guest arrival. Mona looks out and see Ivan standing in front waiting for them. Ivan opens the door for Jae, he gets out of the car. Ivan reaches his hand out for Mona to get out of the car. Suddnely flashes of lights flicked everywhere. Ivan opened up his eyes wide surprised how beautiful Mona looked. He whispers to her, "You're beautiful." Mona blushes at his flattering comment while he guides her into the hotel.

At the end of the night, the assistant drove the car back to Ivan's house. Ivan is sitting in front while Mona and Jae sitting in the back. As they approach the house, they spotted a black car parked outside of the resident. The assistant stops and lets Ivan out the car, followed by Jae and Mona. A young man gets out of the car and heads straight to where Mona and Ivan is standing. "Mona!" A familiar voice shouted. Mona turned to the voice, it was Hee Joon.  Hee Joon grabs Mona's hand. "Lets get out of here." Hee Joon pulls onto Mona. "Ouch! Your hurting me."  Ivan runs over and grabs Mona's other hand. "Let go of her!" He demands. Mona is stuck in between Hee Joon and Ivan. Both men glaring at each other refusing to let go of Mona's hand.
