8 Chapter Eight ~ Hee Joon’s New Life

*Hee Joon's office*

Hee Joon reclines his chair and lays on his seat in his office looking out the glass window. Remembering the night when his father called him in the office. Remembering how he had promised his father that he will take over their family business if they agreed to let Mona stay with them. Then he thinks to himself. "I wonder what Mona is doing." Hee Joon gets up from his chair and walks over to the other side of the room. "How should I tell her why we haven't seen each other lately? How should I tell her I'm busy because I am taking over my family business? Hee Joon stresses and walks back and forth in his office. A sudden knock on the door. " Who is it?" Hee Joon shouts.

"It's me young master." A man in his late 30s walks in to the office. Hee Joon looks up at the man. "What is it?" The man walks up to Hee Joon and stutters. "Ma..Madame have arranged dinner for you and Ms. Yoon." Hee Joon walks over to his chair. "Who?" The guy repeats himself. "Ms. Yoon sir." Hee Joon sits down. "Cancel it!" He demands. "Get out!" Hee Joon screams. The man quickly walks out of the office. Hee Joon gets up and grabs his jacket. Then he headed out the door.

*Hee Joon's house*

Hee Joon arrives in a dark Mercedes Maybach car right when Mona stepped out the house. Mona looked over to see who it was. Hee Joon gets out of the car and heads toward Mona. Mona is so shocked she became speechless. Hee Joon gets a little closer. Mona looked at Hee Joon dressed in business attire and looked at his car. With her mouth wide open, she is still speechless. "whats wrong? Where you heading to? You want me to take you?" Mona stupidly blinks and slowly closes her mouth. "W..what the.. h..how" Mona stutters. "What? I dont understand you." Hee Joon says. "Come." Hee Joon reaches his hand out to hold on to Mona's hand to guide her over to his car. "You doing anything today?" Mona shakes her head, "No. " Hee Joon buckled Mona in. "Lets go eat" Hee Joon starts to drive. Mona finally recovered from her shock. " where did this car come from? And why are you dressed like that? Did you find a job to be a rich man's chauffer?" Hee Joon smiles. "It's a long story. I'll explain it to you later. But right now I'm hungry! Lets go eat!" Mona looks at Hee Joons face and thinks to herself. "That smile... hes changed. He's not the same Hee Joon I use to know. What happened?"

*At the restaurant *

The restaurant is empty, no customers but just Hee Joon and Mona. Hee Joon waves the waiter to start their meal. "I hope this don't scare you. I'm sorry I was not contacting you and I have not really told you everything about me and my family." Hee Joon looks at Mona and pauses for a while. Mona opened her eyes wide and given all her attention to Hee Joon ready for him to explain himself and to tell her his story. "I'm from a wealthy family, probably one of the wealthiest in Korea. But because I never like the business industry, I never stayed in Korea. My dad gave me two choices when I was younger. I either stay in Korea and live wealthy to take over our family business or I chose to go to America to live a more independent life." Hee Joon looks into Mona's eyes. "I chose to go to America and that was the best choice I've ever made because I have met you. So now you know, This is the reason why we haven't spent anytime together and haven't seen each other." Waiter walks up with their dishes and interrupts Hee Joon from his explanation. "Please enjoy your meal." The waiter walks away. Hee Joon continues. "I'm very glad that you have decided to stay and I am.." Hee Joon stutters. " I mean.. I.." Hee Joon can not express his feelings. He got so nervous, his hand is starting to shake. "What is it?" Mona question. "I am really hoping that you can give me a chance to take care of you." Mona froze not knowing what to say but just stared into Hee Joon's eyes not even blinking once.
