10 The hardships

Nancy worked so hard on me. I felt bad for her. She tried to feed me but I couldn't eat.

She tried to cheer me up but nothing seemed to work.

I cried missing my parents.

Then one day, our driver who had left the job since there was no work for him now, came to Nancy's house and looked very sad. On asking he told Simon was killed too and they might come for him and Nancy so he was leaving the town, but it won't work.

They don't want any of my parent's known alive.

And he went back in order to create no unnecessary speculations and left me and Nancy traumatised.

Nancy again tried to hide her fear and told me we'll be fine but I could see in her eyes, she knew they would come for her and she would die too.

I couldn't bear this.

No more please.

Enough I've had.

Why all my closed ones were dying?

I only had Nancy.

I couldn't let anything happen to her.

"Nancy, lets move" I begged.

"Its no use, master. They'd find me.

You have to go.

"No, I wouldn't" I screamed.

They want to kill everyone. They should kill me too!"

At night, Nancy tried to feed me again,

This time she tried to emotionally win against me.

"This might be the last time I feed you, master. Do you want me to die thinking I couldn't feed you for days.

I would never be at peace, master. Please don't do this to me."

"Stop it Nancy! You aren't going anywhere!" I shouted and ate properly by her hands after a long time.

Soon, I felt extremely dizzy.

Did the eating after a long time make me feel sleepy or did Nancy put something in the food.

"Nancy What did you....."

and I fell unconscious.

The next thing I knew, I woke up in an unfamiliar surrounding.

On enquiry I got to know, I was at an orphanage.

2 days later, The newspaper read, Housekeeper, Nancy of the Walkers found dead in her house.

I cried and cried.

The people at orphanage weren't good to me.

They didn't know who I was and I couldn't tell.

They picked on me and treated me like trash.

They hit me for no good reason.

I made a few good friends there in that time period.

The ones you met at the park but I just couldn't handle the way they treated me.

It felt like they wanted me dead.

So I ran.

Now what was I?

A no body.

Just a young boy who had no money, no family , no place to live, no food to eat.

So there I was.

On the streets.

How could I fight with The Black Vipers like this?

No body let me work anywhere because I was too young to work.

Begging gave me little money from which I bought food to stay alive.

Soon I realised how was the world outside.

It was brutal.

No body gives a shit about you. They only want to suppress you somehow.

The people at street would bully me.

Ask me to sell drugs. Get into fights with me.

But I got an opportunity to practice the little I learned from the martial arts classes.

But they were always too many.

Sometimes they were teens and adult boys.

Some times there were men who were high on drugs.

I was scared but I had no option.

I had to stay strong. I had to take my revenge.

I took the beating but I didn't give up.

So that was when you found me.

Thank you for listening to me patiently, sister."
