4 Wheels

The exhilarating feeling of blasting ice out of my body has me addicted. After checking my frosted chair isn't too badly damaged I began to think.

Should I leave the house so I don't damage it? But where would I go? Trying to think of a solution I suddenly hear the crash of waves and I look up to see that we live close to the beach.

I smack myself in the head and start to head out. Limping across the room I look out my window to see no one in the dark night. But as I look down from my two story bedroom I come across a problem.

How the heck am I gonna get down?!?

Looking around my room, I grab 3 water bottles and cut off the tops and tie the bottles together. Preparing myself for the most stupidest idea, I take a deep breath and throw the water out the window and jumping at the same time. Quickly using my powers I freeze the water to make it into snow.

My eyes widened as I see it working, but as I don't have any practice and a two story fall is only about 2 seconds. I create a thin sleet of snow with hard ice mixed into it.

Coming to a hard fall on the ground the ice breaks, snow crunches and my body aches. Thank god I landed on the grass.

"Ughhh..." I groaned out trying to get back up, "Worst idea ever."

I make my way to the beach about a quarter mile away and after one hour of limping I have reached the bay. Spotting a small shack I trudged my way in to see it empty, most likely abandoned. Settling down on the cool soft sand I relax.

Now that I think about it, I shouldn't be able to move due to my injuries let alone walk a quarter mile. Last I checked Iceman doesn't have super healing.

*Sigh* "What kind of messed up universe am I in. Hopefully something familiar happens, like Iron man or something."

I settle in the nice soft sand and start to concentrate on my powers. Ice. Both my hands turn into a hazy mix of snow and ice, stopping at my forearms.

Alright so my powers should work with my imagination, lets try doing what Grey does at Fairy Tail. Cupping my hands together I concentrate on creating a small ball of ice. Cold air emanates from my hands as I hear the crackle of ice. Opening my hands I see a smooth blue ball of ice.

"Hahahahhahaha!!!" Pure joy sprouts on my face as I continue to create more and more little ice balls until all I need is a flick of the wrist and ta-da! N-ICE!

As I continue creating more and more objects of ice, the night swiftly makes its way into day and sunlight pours through cracks in the shed.

"Its time to go home." I got up with little effort and with an exhale of hot air my icy creations begin to melt, absorbed by the sand.

I reach home before the sun fully rises and made use of the one technique I practiced. Creating two balls of ice underneath my feet, I levitate the balls and myself to the second floor through my bedroom window. Tucked into bed, safe and sound.

"Bobby?!" My mother's voice snapped me awake. Looking at the time, 7:30 a.m., only got 2 hours of sleep. Walking to the bathroom I start the daily routine of washing my face and brushing my teeth.

When I spit out the water I looked at my face in the mirror and the left side of my face is almost healed. Touching my tender face, I almost couldn't believe it. 'What is going on with this healing?!' As I was observing my other injuries I didn't notice that my eyes glowed the brightest blue orbs.

Walking downstairs I am shocked because there were two strangers sitting with my parents.

"Ahh you must be young Robert Drake." A smooth and british accent flowed out of the bald man's mouth.

"I am Professor Charles Xavier from Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters." Gesturing to himself and then to his partner, a beautiful african-american woman with snow white hair. "And this is my colleague Ororo Monroe."

"Soo... Bobby.. dear when did you apply for the school?" My mother asked me hesitantly.

"I didn't." I quickly denied, taking a seat next to my mother. Outside I was acting the coolest I can, but on the inside I was freaking out man. Professor X is asking ME to join his school?!? To join the X-men?!?

"Oh, my apologies. There are no applications, we merely seek out these gifted individuals." Professor X added in.

"Hold up there Professor." My father quickly tried to put his 2 cents in. "How many students you got in this fancy school of yours?"

"Excellent question sir, your son will be the first...." Professor Xavier tried to sound upbeat and excited. But to my mother the answer was an immediate no.

"I'm sorry, but we aren't going to send Bobby off to a school with only him in it." My mother tried as politely as possible to turn them down.

"Yes, well your son is very gifted and our institution will help him control his...gifts." Professor X argued.

"What gifts are you talking about!" My father cut in. "Only gift he has is attracting trouble."

My mother and Storm sent a sharp glare towards my father, while Charles just sent me a concerned look.

[Would you like to show them your powers young Drake?] Professor X's voice echoed in my head as I looked towards him and to my mother and father. Why not right? Nothing else to lose, can't hide from a mind reader.

I pressed my palm on the center table, attracting the attention of everyone. I take a deep breath and focused. Cold steam started to leak from my hand as I pulled my hand up, a perfect ice sculpture of a snowflake was in its place.

Professor X and Storm smiled at my mutation, while my parents had different reactions. My mother gasped in surprise, muttering something under her breath.

"Y-You're a f-freak!" My father shouted, with fear clear in his eyes. I couldn't come up with a retort as a timid man in my previous life, but inside I was sad and angry for this discrimination.

"Professor Xavier I'll join your school." I spoke up. I can't go back to my previous school, and staying with my parents now will be hard. I do feel bad about leaving my mother but sacrifices have to be made.

"Excellent." The bald man smiled.

Going to my room, I grabbed a bag to pack a couple of my things, then my mother came into my room.

"Bobby are you sure about this?" She asked.

"Yea mom, its for the best." I said with a sad smile. "Besides dad will probably kick me out sooner or later." Chuckling at the dark humor.

My mother came forward and hug me as tight as she could, "When did become so mature." She said.

Breaking the hug she took off a necklace hanging around her neck and put it on me. "This is for you. To remember us by when you become famous."

Looking at the pendent on the necklace, it was a small red circle with two golden crooked C's going against each other. Thanking her we went downstairs only for my heart to stop at the sight of another stranger.

"Erik."
