3 Chapter 3

Days for me had passed and I borrowed paper and pen to Autumn to count my days here, I met Heat and Sunlight and they were so funny. I enjoyed their company and even invited me to the sea. Yes, their area is a beach. It's so refreshing and I created sandcastles and find some seashells that I only saw on books. We became close.

"Master Heat, this is your coconut juice" I joked

"My beautiful disciple, you don't have to" he added and we both laughed

I called him Master because he taught me a lot of things and I enjoyed his company. I envy Sunlight for having such a partner. I wonder if my husband will accompany me too and enjoy the sea breeze. I will understand him even if he's not, for my family, I will. It's just a pity that I only have three years to spend with them.

"Won't Autumn miss you?" Sunlight asked

"It seems like you are sending her away, Sunlight?" Heat said

"No, I just thought so... You know it is not healthy for a relationship when a lady is with other men" she said without looking

"Don't mind her! Let's play again!" Heat invited

"Sorry Master, I lost track of time. I remembered that Autumn will teach me something" I excused myself

"Stay a little bit. I can teach you" he said

"No thank you" I smiled and left

Sunlight is correct. I'm not a kid anymore and it is inappropriate for a lady to made contact with a guy. I returned to Autumn's house. I saw a man standing on the door, but he wasn't knocking at all.

"Excuse me, Mister. Are you here for Autumn?" I asked

He didn't mind my existence and was about to left. I pulled him with all my force and was shocked. His right eye was blind. He looked at me blankly. This black messy hair, and brown eyes. If I'm not mistaken,

"You are him!" I said

"Noisy" he replied

I heard a clap on my back and some laughter.

"Now, now. You meet your partner. How will you persuade her to be with you?" the man with a magician's hat asked

"Let's go," he said coldly and held my hand

"Overbearing. No wonder you will never get her" the man said

Are they fooling me? I used force to remove my hand on his and was about to open the door when Autumn went out.

"There you are. Birds need to travel to be independent. Lovebirds will be together, thus, a goodbye my friend" Autumn said

"No!" I refused

"I'm sorry. In this world, partners were meant to keep each other. They do things together, fill one's faults, and love each other. If I let you stay, Winter will die." Autumn said and closed the door

"Hmm... That's quite problematic." the magician said

"Then send me home! I don't want to stay here with this man anymore!" I said

"That's a mistake. My dear villager, it is prohibited to speak unknown languages to my place. But since you weren't oriented well, I'll forgive you by punishing your partner" he said

"What?" I shouted in my shock when suddenly a knife flew to Winter

He fell on the ground but no blood came out. He's dead. Did I just stay in a murderous place? Mother, Father, I want to go home. Winter moved and put his hand to where the knife is. The knife turned ice and was easily removed by Winter. This place is ridiculous.

"Oh, it is painful, my villager. This is not a role play. You know, I dislike violence so I am not into it. As you can see, no blood will spill if you kill each other. Yet, the same pain will be felt when you stabbed someone. Winter has a cold nature so he may not be showing pain. Hmm... Then how can you learn?" he asked

"You two gave me too much headache. Ahh! I'll let you experience just this once" he added

I was pulled by a great pull on my back and suddenly there's a hand on my vision. It's cold, I can feel it even it is inches away from me.

"Stop it. She'll come with me" Winter said

I didn't oppose it when he threw the knife that should hit my right eye. He saved me, again. The magician smiled. It's so mischievous that I am afraid he'll have something dirty on his hands. I felt like he is a villain playing people's lives and I hate it.

"Cold... So cold... Winter is so cold. Why is that? I gave you what you wanted" he cried

"Shut up" Winter replied

"Young miss, may I ask? How many days you've been here?" he turned to me

"6th day if I am not mistaken," I said hesitantly

"Oh? It should be 6 days, 23 hours, 58 minutes, and a second. Did you know that if your partner didn't call your name within a week on your timeline, you will die?" he asked

"Are you serious?" I said

"Yes, this is my world" the magician replied

"It's fine. Just call me... What is my name?" I paused when I can't remember my name

How could this happen? I know my name. I know my mother and father's name. I know Miss... What's my mentor's name? Why am I forgetting?

"10... 9... 8..."

"Her name is Wind," Winter said

"Oh? What a nice name? Winter, why not Ice?" the magician asked

"She is a free one. She's not tied. Let's go, Wind" he said and gave me his hand

I wonder why it feels like I was born with the name of Wind? Am I losing my memories? But in my past life, I can remember them clearly. How come I forgot names?

"She won't accompany you, Winter. You have no hope" the magician teased

"She can go home. Since the name tied her to this world, she'll be familiar where her home is" Winter said and left me

"He's broken. He's the winter after all." the magician opened up

"Why so?" I asked

"It is your job to know. By the way, I am the Master. Welcome to my place, Wind" he greeted and faded

"Hey Autumn, they're gone" I heard Rain whispered on the other side of the door

The door suddenly opened and Rain hugged me. They've been there this whole time.

"Welcome to the village, Wind" she greeted

"Speaking of... You didn't ask my name when I stayed here. Why?" I asked

"It is because only your partner can call your name when you're a guest" Autumn replied

"Villagers who aren't named yet were called guests. When your partner named you, that means he accepted you for your own three years timeline. This also means you are..." she paused and blushes

"You are a husband and wife. Something like a couple if the husband and wife relationship isn't appropriate to hear. Your wedding was unusual though. Master gave seven days for the partner to prepare, but Winter just called you" Autumn said and was a bit disappointed

"Not at all. It is better than making me guess what my name was before" Rain said and they both laughed

"You mean, when your partner named you, it is like a proposal?" I asked

"No, the proposal is you accepting the invitation of this place and the name-calling was the wedding" Rain responded

"WHAT?" I said and subconsciously put my hands on my mouth

"But I can't marry anyone. As you can see, in the real world, I have this husband, too. I can't marry anyone without breaking the engagement to the other... And... And... I preferred my engaged husband than Winter" I said the last words almost like a whisper

"Is that because of my brother's eye?" Autumn asked as his face darkened

"No. Not that, my parents expected me to marry that man. You know, I am not familiar with love and of course, what my parents wanted me, I want it too. I have no clue of the world so I follow instructions and being here is out of the goal" I explained

"But I told you, your time stopped. Your real-world engaged partner won't know you married twice, though" Rain said

"It is still disloyalty and my conscience will kill me," I said

"You're creating a lot of excuses when all I want to hear is if you hate my brother that much that you don't want to be with him or you just don't prefer stranger and need some time to know him better," Autumn said and walked away

"I'm sorry. I'm new to this side of Autumn, but I'm sure he's just sad and not angry about you. He just can't understand why they always do that to Winter" Rain apologized

"No, I should be sorry. But, what are you talking about they always do that to Winter?" I asked

"It is not for me to share. Why not talk to Winter himself?" she asked and patted my shoulder

Talk to him. I guess I'll understand better if I talk to him. But he is cold, will he answer me? Will I just burden him? I wonder if my partner in the real world will think this way too. I shook my head and look forward, don't think of him first. You must return to the "home" Winter is talking about, the rest will be held when I go there.
