7 Unusual Behavior

A young girl awoke from her sweet slumber, seeing the slight rays of light coming from the dawn of a new day passing through the thin curtains. She stretched her body hearing clicks from her joints and also tipping her head sideways. A sweet scent of fresh animal meat wafted near her nostrils.

Her lazy purple eyes brightened as a smile graced her lips. Without thinking twice, she put on her sandals and walked out of the lone house. The wooden door creaked open as the light of dawn filled her vision. 'A cloudless morning and a beautiful day it will be. A hot day at that!'

She enjoyed hot days as the Great Scar Forest's vegetation would look very appealing. Green trees shimmered under the intense sunlight and the warm air was soothing to her. Plus she could go on a picnic with her brother whenever he was able to.

She turned her gaze to a stall segregated from the vegetation. An enticing scent made her mouth water. She always liked good food. A rich meaty smell of... Hare!

She made her way towards the stall and a figure was seated seemingly satisfied with whatever it did. The figure turned its head and smiled at its new guest.

"Morning Abi, has my fabulous culinary skills dazzled you?" The boy asked her partly jesting and partly excited.

Her gaze turned towards the seated boy and she smiled at him. A greedy look entered her cute eyes.

"Smells like Heaven," She laughed heartily whilst sneakily glancing at the roasted fish, hare stew and some rice.

Daniel nodded and handed her a fish stick and and the delicately prepared hare stew. Without thinking twice she bit into her prize.

The fish had been roasted a perfect brown and oiled very well. As a result the texture and taste of the fish had been balanced perfectly. The fish taste was preserved and was well evident. The spices he had ground to fine powder had not overwhelmed the fish's fragrance nor it's taste but blended perfectly together.

Her face blushed slightly savouring the taste and her hands had turned into an oily mess. Now her attention was focused on the delightful stew and proactively her stomach acids sloshed around her stomach inciting for more delicacies to be introduced.

Daniel looks at his sister's gluttonous face and he struggled to hold back his laughter as he said,"I never knew you were such a foody perhaps I shouldn't cook anymore. You would devour the entire forest empty."

"I'm not so greedy. You cook very well compared to me who burns the food till only ashes remain," She pouted her lips and momentarily their gazes met. One of panic and another of dripping sarcasm.

She licked her lips and her oily hands and she devoured the hare stew and the rice. In a moment the bowl was completely empty and a completely satisfied Abigail sat on the patch of grass.

The young girl now noticed that her brother had changed his appearance. Even though she had asked him not to, he still did it anyhow. He now looked chubby about 52kg and his height remained the same. His face emulated his body that it had gained some fat.and was flexible. His skin had gained an extra 2cm worth fat. His bright blue eyes had darkened almost black. However he still looked cute but he always denied it.

"Let's go back to the house, you can pick a book to read to pass the time and even you can sleep if necessary," Daniel said happily.

"Ah but it's boring brother. Why don't we..."

Daniel walked toward her and his hand clutched something behind his back. A mischievous smile etched it's way on his chubby face. He soon sprinted and arrived at her resting place. She immediately shot up from the grass and began to... run!

What was she running from? Her brother held a big sack that would definitely fit two of her inside it! She ran with all her might as her persistent brother was hot on her heels. Laughter bubbled from her throat as she said," No don't chase, I'll get tired and all the food you prepared will be digested faster than when I'm sleeping,"

"Then stop running. I just want to kidnap my dear sister, that's all." The voice said behind her as they had been playing 'cat and mouse' for a while.

Daniel picked up speed and raised the looming sack and nabbed her. She shrieked like the world was coming to an end. Worriedly Daniel opened the sack as it fell with the girl's figure.

Abigail's face had turned slightly pale and at the same time a multicolored radiance flashed in her eyes but it disappeared in instant. Daniel even thought he had imagined it, perhaps he had.

He noticed the mood swings and swiftly carried her into the house. After entering the room, he remembered he hadn't fixed her bed. He dumped her on his bed and went to fix her bed.

"Daniel..."

"Mmm,"

"If I were to disappear one day would you miss me?"

He answered almost subconsciously, "Yes... yes I would,"

Even though Daniel couldn't see her, he could sense the tension rising. He remained silent and only rustling off bedsheets and the occasional tap of feet hitting the tiled floor.

Behind him, the young girl gently bit her seemingly contemplating something. As for her decision it was unknown but she stared at the busy body in front of her. She closed her eyes and her silver hair fell on her soon to be beautiful face.

She fell backwards and landed on the soft mattress and almost immediately the bed creaked revealing its fault. She instantly fell asleep and her breathing became even.

Daniel looked back and found she had slept on his bed. Just after I make her bed she sleeps on mine. What a troublesome one, he thought to himself.

He took out a book from under his bed and began to read it in the uncomfortable silence. It was about a book of the ancient dragons. It also included the Spirit Soul mages which were the highest cultivation rank known to man.

'Time and tide wait for no man' came true as twilight tainted the blue sky a vivid gold. Sensing the changes he closed the book and his steps silently made way towards the window.

By now his appearance had reverted back to it's original state and his glittering blue eyes had turned a vivid golden as his eyes opened to view the sunset.

A golden cloud emanated from the horizon seemingly being absorbed by his eyes. He knew he only had a few minutes before it turned dark so he cultivated the Black Demon Eyes. Even though the technique was known as the Black Demon Eyes, the cloud rising from the setting sun was always golden to him. His eyes absorbed this harmless golden cloud and a pleasurable sensation filled his eyes.

Sometimes he wished he could always stay in this state. Forgetting the nonsensical things of life and drift into the abyss. Why did that come up? "abyss".

The darkness swallowed up the burning sun almost like the sun's last battle as a fiery flash lit the skies. Darkness soon pervaded and nearby the Great Scar Forest's residents became active. At least for the inner core region.

After that one meal of the morning he hit the hay. His head had been muddled with rich emotions. He struggled to combat this as his eyes tightly closed shut and the former uneven breathing turned calm.

-------

A few hours into the night, a pair of purple eyes gazed at a sleeping figure. The eyes glimmered with unseen tears as one of them spilt onto the silhouette's face. It was Abigail!

Her fists had clenched tilled they turned a pale white as she lamented as to why this had to happen. She had worn her blue dress and the pale white skin complemented her well.

"Why did she have to awaken now of all times." She mumbled to herself as countless drops of water and salt drizzled down her pale cheeks.

"Live brother and do not lose heart," She whispered near the figure's ears, her hot breath touching its soft flesh.

Her shoulders shook as a heart wrenching sob escaped her throat. She held it back at the last moment and only a slight sound was made. She would miss him and she knew her brother's heart to know he would too. But it must be done.

She steeled herself as her cat-like steps retreat out of the house and into the abyssal darkness. It seems like the moon wouldn't come out tonight, she thought.

A graceful figure of a young girl was seen staring back at the now desolate structure. The only evidence of a living organism was the sleeping human who had a troubled sleep as its head tossed and turned.

Only the night creatures were active at this time as the figure had vanished from sight. Perhaps forever...
