2 chapter 2 first mission acquired

As Eve and Flint trek through the forest track, Eve says "So, how have you been Flint?" He ignores her as he is chopping branches out of his path.

Eve says sarcastically "Wow you're such a great conversationalist and sooo very kind" she rolls her eyes.

Flint says "I am not here to be your friend I'm here to follow my orders."

Eve says "What crawled up your ass and died?"

Flint says, "Cut the snarky remarks."

Eve rolls her eyes and mutters "Jackass." Eve not watching where she's going, to irritated with Flint, nearly walks into a tree so Flint grabs her wrist and pulls her out of the way and says, "Pay attention to your surroundings!"

Eve says "What are you talking about, I was."

Flint says "Can't fool me." Eve rolls her eyes and Flint says "If you don't pay attention to your surroundings you're going to look like a prune."

Eve responds sarcastically, "You mean you'll feed me to the Vampires, that's nice to know."

Flint says, "Just hold your tongue and focus on the mission."

Eve says "Ouch" as they continue.

Eve asks, "Do you even know where we're going?"

Flint says "Of course I do!"

Eve laughs "You don't!"

Flint says "hold your tongue, of course, I do."

Eve laughs, "No, you don't, the oh-so-great Vampire hunter Flint is lost. Priceless!!"

Flint lifts his flintlock pistol and says "hold your tongue, you numskull!"

Eve says, "Woah, watch where you point that thing!" Flint shoots and Eve flinches as a bird drops from the sky.

Eve says taken by surprise, "WHAT THE SHIT?!" Flint snickers and Eve makes a branch whack him in the head and glares, "Shut up, it's not funny!"

Flint says "It kind of is."

Eve says "Ok, maybe a little, but WHY DID YOU SHOOT A DAMN BIRD OUT OF NOWHERE?!"

Flint says, "A warning."

Eve asks, "Wait are we being watched or followed? I can feel it too, now that you mention it." Flint nods and says, "I think they've gone now."

Eve says "I think we found Vlad"

Flint asks "How so?"

Eve says "I can sense a presence. I think A Vampire."

Eve says "Behind you!" Flint quickly turns around and suddenly is thrown against a tree. Eve draws her dagger and swiftly traps the stranger in a headlock. Digging the dagger into their flesh, making smoke come off.

Eve looks at the person. "This is definitely not Vlad, but this is a vampire." Eve says "Even if you're not my target, you attacked me, say goodnight!" She stabs the silver dagger into the man's heart, making him dissipate into a pile of dust which she steps over and asks, "How'd I do?"

Flint replies with "You did ok."

Eve asks, "Only ok?" Flint nods to which Eve says "What'd I do wrong?"

Flint replies," You were too slow to kill him. You're lucky that was a low-ranking Vampire because had it been a high-rank Vampire you would be Dead."

Eve says "Oh."

Eve says "Wait, hey!"

Eve decides to leave Flint's insult and continues following Vlad's trail and eventually catches a glimpse of something shiny on the ground. She crouches down and brushes snow off of it and sees an underground bunker thing and says, "I smell something coming from down here!"

Flint says, "Smell what? I don't smell a thing."

Eve says, "Your nose must be plugged then because it's a super-strong smell!"

Flint asks, "What does it smell like?"

Eve replies with, "Blood and people."

Flint responds saying, "I can smell it a little." Flint asks "And you're sure it's coming from here?"

Eve says "Yes, I'm sure." Eve uncovers the metal object completely and sees a latch which she lifts and pulls to reveal an underground hideout or something of the sort.

Eve goes down the spiral staircase inside, taking a torch from the wall and lighting the path. Eve says, "It smells like just about nothing but blood in here." Eve looks around once they're down the stairs and says, "Well, I found out why the stench of blood is so strong." She can see a few dead bodies of humans and says, "Their throats are slit. Why would the vampires slit their throat when all they need to do is bite them?"

Flint says, "Maybe some kind of ritual? I'm not sure. It could even be just to collect buckets or something with blood, you know, save it for later."

Eve says, "That's true, but if it's a ritual, what kind?"

Flint replies with, "My guess is some kind of summoning the dead ritual. It could also be they are trying to fill their storage with blood or they could also be doing it just for the apparent fun of it."

Eve says, "That's terrible if that's what they're doing!!"

Eve keeps walking and says "I think there are still some living villagers here."

Flint says impatiently, "Then what are you waiting for?! An invitation?"

Eve sighs and snips, "You could be a little bit nicer don't you think?" Eve walks onward irritated with Flint's rude attitude.

Eve finds a metal door with a small little window and sees some villagers and says in alarm, "I found the missing villagers!" Eve adds, "At least some that are still alive."

Eve tries opening the door and says "It's jammed!"

Flint replies, "Or you're just too weak?"

Eve snarls, ", If you insult me one more time you can join the corpses and I'll make it look like an accident or someone else's doing."

Eve notices Flint gulp and looks fearful for a split second but then he's back to normal and says, "Geez, cool your jets."

Eve says "Well you're ticking me off and your attitude sucks! You never were this rude before, what happened?"

Flint says "Nothing, people change."

Eve says "Aha sure, but I won't push it, we have more important things to do."

Eve rips open the jammed metal door and Flint looks surprised so Eve says "Not so weak now am I?"

Flint says "You still are, anyone could have done it."

Eve sighs and rolls her eyes at Flint.

Eve goes in and hurries over to the villagers and asks, "Are you all alright?" A young woman says "Eve, is that you?" Eve says "Matilda!?"

Matilda replies, "It's been so long!" Eve says confused, "Though I thought your family was moving?"

Matilda says "We were, but then we were ambushed. I was the only one who survived."

Eve asks "How'd you get to this dump?"

Matilda says "I'm not sure, I just know after we were ambushed I was knocked out and I woke up here."

Eve says "One way or another we need to get ALL of you out of here asap!!" Matilda nods as Eve and Flint lead the people out and Matilda says "He's coming back!"

Eve asks "Who?"

Matilda says "The Vampire that killed the others."

Eve says "What did he look like?" Matilda then explains and Eve says with a glare "That's Vlad!"

Eve and Flint start escorting the villagers back they get out of the place.

Eve says "He's here! Flint TAKE THE VILLAGERS BACK TO THE VILLAGE QUICKLY!"

Flint says "Are you sure? I'm supposed to watch your back."

Eve says "LEAVE!! THE VILLAGERS WILL DIE IF YOU DONT!" Flint nods.

Flint flees with the villagers and Eve senses someone near her and quickly turns around catching an arm and crushing it she snarls, "It's YOU!"

Eve pulls out her silver knife and is about to stab Vlad but he disappears and reappears behind her. He attacks her but she deflects. Vlad says "Your Charles's little mutt aren't you?"

Eve looks confused and having her guard down she feels fangs pierce into her neck she says "Ouch!" She tosses Vlad against a tree. While she still has an opening she stabs Vlad straight through the heart.

Vlad says "How dare you!" He says, gasping for air. "You will pay! I'll be back! You think this is over its far-" Eve stabs him in the throat and he turns into a pile of dust. Eve mutters "I thought that guy would never shut up." Eve realizes she's covered in wounds and has a couple of huge gashes. Some that look to be dangerous but Eve just shrugs it off. She walks back to the village.

Eve goes home and Celia sees Eve's wounds and says, "EVE WHATS HAPPENED TO YOU!? I KNEW IT WAS A BAD IDEA!"

Harold walks in and looks at Eve, saying, "Celia, calm down! Can't you see she's doing just fine?"

Eve says "Would you calm down mom, it's just a few scratches. I killed Vlad though."

Celia says alarmed "JUST A FEW SCRATCHES!?"

Eve says "Look it's already healing." Eve mutters "Oddly enough."

Celia looks crazily worried and Eve says "What's the matter, mom? You look like the worlds gonna end."

Harold sighs "She's just overreacting."

Eve says "Ok then."

Harold says "Let us just patch up your wounds and then she'll calm down."

Eve sighs, "I'm ok but fine. Or else mom's gonna lose her head." Harold begins to patch up the wounds.

Eve says "Do you and mom know something?"

Harold says "About what?"

Eve says "I don't know, just the way mom reacted just now is weird."

Harold says "She's just worried."

Eve asks "Over what?"

Harold says "Not quite sure."

Celia walks in and says, "Eve, you weren't bitten by Vlad were you?"

Eve says "Actually... Yes."

Celia says "Oh no, no, no this ISNT good!"

Eve says in disgust, "I'm not gonna turn into a filthy Vampire am I?"

Celia says "How long?"

Eve says "Very briefly."

Celia replies "It's unlikely then."

Harold asks "Did you succeed in your mission?"

Eve replies "For the most part." Eve sighs in defeat, "I didn't get the vampire fruit though..."

Celia says "Yes you did." Celia drops a pouch with the fruit in it and says, "Flint said that one of the villagers, I think your friend Matilda, had it so you can go to the chief and report."

Eve hugs Celia and Harold and says happily "I completed my first mission!"

Celia says "We're so proud of you, though it's best if you go report to the chief and take this with you" Celia gives Eve the pouch with the Vampire fruit.

Eve leaves to go and report to the chief in the chief's building. She goes into the building and knocks on the office door and she hears from the other side "Come in." She goes in and the Chief says "Here to report I assume?" Eve nods.

Eve says "We found the missing villagers and have brought them back, the Vampire fruit has been recovered and Vlad is as good as the dead only thing is I didn't get much intel but I think Vlad was doing some kind of sinister ritual. Luckily he couldn't finish since he's dead and ran out of something he needed."

The Chief then says "Very well done, the mission is complete, I expected no less of you, perhaps you will become even better than Flint."

Eve replies "Thank you, sir"

With that Eve leaves and heads to the Cafe in town and orders some coffee. Flint sits at her table and Eve says "What do you want?"

Flint says "Can't old friends sit together?"

Eve says "No, not really."

Flint asks "Why not?"

Eve rolls her eyes "Cut the crap"

Flint says expectantly "Did the chief give you an earful?"

Eve smirks "Nope, he said I've surpassed you."

Flint says "You're lying."

Eve says "No, just stretching the truth."

Flint says "Then what's the truth, without 'stretching' it?"

Eve replies "Ok fine, he said If I keep it up I'll surpass you and that's the truth and nothing but the truth."

Flint says "You won't though."

Eve says "You hope."

Flint says "No, I know so."

Eve and Flint begin to have a staredown.

Eve hears a familiar voice "Aw, isnt that cute." Eve sputters "UNCLE FRED?!" Uncle Fred says "That's right."

Eve says "What are you doing here?"

Uncle Fred replies "Came to get my coffee and to see how your mission went. I always knew you two would end up together."

Eve says "Uh what?"

Uncle Fred says "You're staring into each other's eyes, that's gotta mean something!"

Eve says "That's not at all what's going on."

Uncle Fred says "Then what? Didn't you have a crush on him?"

Eve replies "When I was 8 years old! Flint is a pain now is all, he's a jerk compared to how he used to be."

Uncle Freddy asks "Are you sure you're not the one who's being a pain?" Flint laughs.

Eve says "Ouch"

Uncle Fred replies "I'm kidding, come on Evie I'm gonna treat you."

Eve cringes at the nickname and asks "Why?"

Uncle Fred replies "To celebrate your first mission being a success!"

Eve replies excitedly "Alright!" Eve asks "Though, where are we going?"

Uncle Fred says "To the new place that opened up in town."

Eve says "Ok."

Uncle Fred and Eve leave and go to the new place in town and Eve says, "I've never seen food like this before and this place is so.. fancy! How can anyone afford a place like this in our village to?"

Uncle Fred says "Some kind of rich lord or something."

Eve says "This place is like a tavern but better and fancier."

Uncle Fred says "Yeah, it's owned by some kind of nobility."

Eve and Uncle Freddy order some smancy food and drinks.

Eve gulps her food down and Uncle Freddy says "Wow, quite the appetite you got there Evie!"

Eve says "I just came back from my mission."

Uncle Freddy replies "I'm just a bit surprised."

Eve and Uncle Freddy chill for a while but eventually, it gets late and Uncle Freddy finishes spoiling Eve. As well as buying her some drinks even though Harold and Celia would give him an earful for it.

Uncle Freddy brings Eve home who is somewhat drunk and Celia says "Frederick!!!

Harold says "We told you to stop getting her drunk!!"

Uncle Fred replies "She wanted to have drinks so I said yes, all I did was pay. Besides, it's perfectly fine for her to drink."

Celia continues looking cross with Uncle Fred. Eve then passes out just barely making it to her bed.
