10 <Myth> The True Story of the Creation of Everything

Minas, the God of Creation and Destruction

................

There was nothing. Absolutely nothing but himself. There is no concept of anything, but he knew that he could do make it. He had the power to do anything, to create anything. But first he must name himself.

"Minas," he said, looking as his formless body shaped itself. He glanced around at nothingness, and he began to name things. Things of the future that would only exist if he named them.

He started with flowers. "Daffodil. Lily. Roses." And one by one, they popped into existence. Unsatisfied, Minas moved on to trees, animals, water, Earth, dimensions, galaxies, everything. He gave everything a name until he stopped on his greatest creation: humans.

He wanted to make them different. But he didn't know how.

'Give them the power of destruction,' he decided. And gave them the power to destroy or create.

Worried, however, Minas didn't stop there. He created Gods to look over the humans. He created rules and laws so that the humans would live in a world of structure and order. He created history. He created the future.

But he did not know that when he gave the humans the seed of creation and destruction, that seed applied to their lifespan as well. Humans were different from the Gods. They died, yet they were able change. And they were separate entities from Minas.

Satisfied, Minas fell into deep slumber. The next time that he awoke would be to the existence of his creations and lost memories.
