A new day

Not surprisingly, I did the same morning routine as usual. I got up and out of bed, went to have the same breakfast of cereal, I brushed my teeth and got changed. But that's when it changed, I decided to wear something different. My new outfit, I wore denim shorts that had messed up edges, a sleeveless white shirt that had black and purple butterflies down the front. My shirt was long, it went down past my hips so that meant I had to ruffle it so it sat at my hip level.

I lived alone in a small house, it was a good thing too as I don't think anyone would want to live with me, a complete and utter mess.

Today was a sunny and windy day so I thought I might go for a walk to pass the time. I walked out of the house forgetting my phone and keys. The door slammed shut. I was locked out, just what I needed! Today was going so well too! I walked off trying to forget what had just happened back there.

**Time Skip**

Walking around the block was fun, I had done a few laps then I ran into my enemy Laurie and her minions April and Ruby. The best part about Laurie is..... Nothing, that's literally all that's good about her. Did I mention she was evil? No? Well, I did now, you're welcome. Ever since I arrived at Phoenix High she has hated my guts, I guess it was just because I was stronger and more popular at the time. That's over now, but she still insists on making my life as miserable as it can be.

***Laurie's pov***

I saw the brat today, she pretended like she didn't see me! Ha! Oh, she can't get away from me that easily. I grabbed her by her shirt, pulled her to a nearby wall and signalled for my gang to hold her there. The first thing she said to me was "What the hell do you want?!". I gave her a wicked grin and she froze "That's what I thought brat" I said while leaning in close. The brat spat at me, it landed on my white handbag! She spat at me so I slapped her square in the face! She didn't flinch at my upraised hand but then she had the nerve to sarcastically reply "Was that a designer bag?! Oh, I'm so sorry ". I was furious at her now!! She must have seen the reaction on my face because she did it again and it landed on my beautiful new short, pink, fluffy dress. Oh, I was pissed so I got my girls to knock her out and leave her there, she deserved it anyway so why not!

***Alyssa's pov***

"Agh....." I groaned as I held my head, it hurts so much. The last thing I remember was being held against a wall and spitting at Laurie! Agh! Laurie must have done something, and my day was going so well too.....

I hear a faint voice calling my name "Alyssa." I opened my eyes a bit wider to only see Rowan looking down on me. I wasn't in a place where I knew, I was inside on a bed, his bed I realised. "How long have I been here?" I groaned. "Only a few hours. I just happened to be walking by and found you unconscious on the footpath. I carried you back here to look after your injuries, but you still have to take it easy though. You took a few hard hits, and I don't think you will be able to stand for a while." He said. He calmly handed me a cup of water and what I believe to be a pain killer. I took a sip of the ice-cold water, swallowed the medicine and savoured the chill as it slid down my throat and soothed the pain that was there moments before.

"Thank you," I said calmly, trying not to let him know how much pain I was in. The medicine should kick in soon and help me cope with the throbbing in my head. "You look like a ghost, I think you need some rest." I didn't bother to try and object as he handed me a blanket, sleep hit me faster than I thought.

**Time Skip**12 Hours later**

I woke up to a cosy warm room. It would have been very quiet if it weren't for Rowan snoring next to me. He was sprawled on an armchair next to the bed, I decided not to wake him so I just rolled over but before I closed my eyes, I saw the beautiful forest outside. The night sky was alive and shining, with the smile of my parents looking down on me..... Oh, how I miss them.
