1 The party

She wakes up from her slumber and goes down the stairs. Her mother has her cooked her some breakfast. "hey honey, why won't you come to sit down and have breakfast with me, " her mother says. "What's the occasion?" she asks. Granted her mother never usually makes breakfast. "Well, I just wanted to do something nice for you", explains her mother. Her confused persists for her mother, "No seriously mom what's up? You never make breakfast." Her mother then says, "Well Grace, I was thinking we could have a party tonight. We could invite some of our neighbors and even that boy next door you keep gawking at." "Mom, stop", says Grace. Grace blushes. She has been wanting that boy since she moved in a year ago. She had the courage to talk to him once but she felt he wasn't interested. She hasn't talked to him since. His name is Jake, their windows are across from each other and she crushes on him so hard. He has tried to talk to her multiple times but she was just too shy. "Okay, but I'm still inviting him and his father", her mother says. Grace says, "Okay, mom." They ate their breakfast and continued on with their day. Grace usually just goes straight to bed but this time she looks in her closet to see what she can wear. "Augh, I don't have anything to wear!" She then looks at the back of her closet and pulls out this silky black dress she never wore. "I guess this will work." She puts it on and sees if she can still wear it. "it actually fits?", says Grace amazed. She then looks out her window and sees that Jake's window is open too. As if he was waiting for her or something. She quickly shuts her window and changes. She opens her window again and he's gone. "Dang it!" She leans up against the wall. He then comes back and sees her sitting on the floor. He pulls open his window and throws something at hers. "What was that?" She looks out the window and sees Jake. He smiles and waves at her. She waves back, politely. He gestures for her to pull up her window. She pulls up her window. "Hey, what's up?", says Jake. "Not much, just a random guy almost broke my window, " says Grace. He chuckles and says, "It was just a pencil." She coyly says, "Whatever haha." "I can't wait for your party tonight, " he says. She says, " Me too." They chatted for what seemed like forever. Then the party came. "See you soon, " said Jake. "You, too, " she said. They both close their windows. She then realized the party is starting. She quickly puts on her dress and does her hair and makeup. She walks down the stairs. Her mother says, " Everyones been waiting for you." "Sorry, mom!", she says. She then sees Jake. She goes and gets some snacks. He walks up to her. "Hey Grace, " he says. She says, " H-hey." "Do you wanna dance?" he says. "Sure." They danced until a slow song came on. He says, " Do you want to slow dance? You don't have to if-." "I would love to, " she says. They slow dance and then he leans in for a kiss. She has been waiting for this for forever. "I have always liked you, Grace." "I have too, Jake." Jake then says, " Really, why haven't you ever really spoken to me?" "I didn't think you felt the same, " said Grace. "Well I do, " said Jake.
