Chapter 2

"Isaac. Time to get up."

'Huh? Who?'

"What?"

"I said time to get up. I made breakfast."

'I remember now... I'm Isaac.'

"Okay, just let me get ready."

Bella walks away from the slightly opened door.

Right. So. A week away from middle school. Great. I'll be able to meet absolutely no one interesting, learn next to nothing, and most importantly, be bored 99% of the time until high school in Forks. I am excited for this new world, but it's gonna take a while to get used to being an eleven year old.

<Meanwhile at the Cullen Household - 3rd POV>

Alice starts walking over to the living room from the unused kitchen when she suddenly stops.

Everone in the family look up at her at the same time.

They wait patiently, and expectantly look at her. Alice's visions of the future are known to be either really good or really bad.

She snaps out of it a minute later, and smiles, but with a confused look on her face.

Carlisle: "What did you see?"

Alice: "I think it was Edward's and Elizabeth's mates."

Both vampires mentioned react to this.

Edward looks scared and pained, while Elizabeth looks so happy, her feet might just remove themselves from her body and do a jig.

Elizabeth: "What exactly did you see about them? Do you know what they look like?"

She squeals out her questions about her future mate in quick succession.

Alive: "I didn't see much. I did see that you two were together, but his looks were... clouded somehow."

Elizabeth: "Clouded? So you only know that he exists?"

Alice: "The only other thing I saw was that it looked like it was in Forks."

Carlisle: "I was actually thinking of heading back to Forks in about 5 years. I think it's been long enough. Maybe you'll find them then."

Edward: "I hope I don't."

Elizabeth snaps her head towards Edward and scowls.

Elizabeth: "We all know how you feel about what you are, but you don't need to rain on my parade."

Alice hops up to Elizabeth and gives her a hug.

Alice: "I'm so happy for you! You'll just have to keep a lookout once we get there!"

<Skip to middle of 6th grade for Isaac>

'Oh jeez... that was mind-numbing.'

Since I've already looked through the school books once, I can remember everything. And because this is a normal 'memorize and regurgitate onto tests' school, that's all I have to do to succeed.

Maybe I can just pass up to junior year of high school, then just do what I want until canon starts.

I think the best thing to do would be to build things and make money. Maybe I should solve some Millenium Prize Problems. I've never been a math guy, but I've got NZT Mind on my side.

Guess I'll start reading up on advanced math.

-----------

<Skip to 2004 (About one year before canon)>

"EUREKA!!!"

I've solved the Poincaré conjecture, published a paper, and got recognized as the person who proved it by the math community! It was a lot of work, but with some Brian Finch-esque work, and a few months, I was done. Thankfully the review didnt take as long as I thought it would.

I don't think I'll tell anyone I've got a million dollars. No point in broadcasting it. Also, I've refused the opportunity to give a speech at some fancy place over in Sweden already. Too much publicity for me.

(A/N: Might not work exactly like this our world, but it does in this one.)

Anyways. Now I'm a millionaire! It's not enough though. I have been reading about other stuff, so I might invent future things that I know will be popular. On the other hand, I could just write popular books. I think I'd use a pen name, I don't want to get caught in the street every time I go outside. This should be easy though. After all, I do remember every word. Plus it's not plagiarism if the books don't exist here, right?

Oh well... Geeks, here I come!

-----------

<Skip to 11 months later>

I've just submitted the last chapters of Harry Potter, LOTR, and The Hobbit books. Took months of toiling away at the keyboard to do it, even with knowing exactly what to write, It's still time consuming to write 11 books in less than a year. It's a good thing I can type fast too. NZT Mind is great for getting money. Thank you ROB!

Anyways, I am now raking in the millions as my books get more and more popular. Those geeks have a lot of money!

I've also been approached for movie and merchandising rights, which of course I agreed to. Who am I to stop the geeks of the world from making me rich?

I am glad I wrote these books instead of making new tech. I may still do that, but these books made me money a lot faster and easier.

Well, in other news, Reneé has started dating a baseball player named Phil Coulson. Makes me wonder if SHIELD somehow exists. They even look kinda similar.

She's also been hinting at us living with our dad to finish school. It shouldnt be too long before my cute, shy, self-sacrificing sister thinks moving to live with our dad is a good idea. Normally, I wouldn't let such a thing happen to Bella, but this is definitely for the best. Reneé might be fun as a friend, but she's definitely not a good mother. We've done too much in this house without her help. Cleaning, cooking, even paying bills when she forget. Which is often.

----------

<Skip to plane landing in Forks, WA>

Bella and I walk off the plane with our carry-ons and go to the baggage claim. It takes a few minutes before our bags come by.

After that, we start heading out to the front of the airport, where we see a middle aged man with a moustache standing by his car. This is Charlie Swan, our dad.

Charlie: "Bella, Isaac! It's great to see you!"

I set down my bags, and go in for a hug, and he awkwardly accepts.

Isaac: "Hey dad!"

'Oh man... you and Bella are gonna have a great time together.'

I pat his back and release the hug to get my stuff again.

Bella: "Hey Charlie."

She waves.

Isaac: "What, no hug?"

She gives me a light glare and slowly walks up to dad to give him a hug. He accepts it even more awkwardly this time, somehow, but smiles.

I roll my eyes and think: 'These two are maestros of awkwardness.'

Bella and I start to pack our bags into the trunk and part of the backseat.

----------

<Skip to arriving at Charlie's house>

Charlie: "So. I've got your beds set up already, though I did keep the rest of it the same as when you left."

I walk up the stairs, go down the hall, and into my old room, which is next to Bella's.

I set my stuff down and start unpacking. My room is the same as I remember it, but with a new bed and new sheets. I don't have decorations on the walls, like always.

'Maybe I could get some colorful paintings to go on the walls? Maybe a Van Gogh? Just kidding... though I think I could. I do have the capital. Last time I checked my account, it was at over $358 million.'

I laugh out loud.

'Wow I'm rich. I wonder how much the Cullens have? Probably more. They've had a lot of time to earn and save.'

*KNOCK KNOCK*

Isaac: "Come in!"

Charlie: "Hey Isaac. I just wanted to talk with you about your uh... school situation."

Isaac: "Sure, what's up?"

I plop down on the bed, and dad walks over and sits down beside me. Still hesitantly.

'So awkward...'

Charlie: "I heard from your mom that you decided to do your schoolwork up to junior year because you wanted to do other things with your time, but still graduate at the same time as other people your age."

Isaac: "Yep."

He laughs.

Charlie: "My son, the genius. I'm proud of you."

He smiles, and I return it.

Isaac: "Thanks, dad."

Charlie: "Well, I registered both you and Bella into the Junior class at the high school here. I know it'll be odd starting at second semester, but I think you'll do fine. You'll be going first thing tommorrow. Not much time to prepare, I know, but I got all the supplies you need already, so you're good to go."

I smile again.

Isaac: "Thanks. We already arrived, and you're already being a great dad."

I lean over and give him a side hug.

Charlie: "Thanks, Isaac. I'll let you get to unpacking. You'll need to leave by about 7:30 to be there on time."

----------

*BZZT BZZT BZZT BZZT BZZT*

I wake up slowly to the grating buzzing of the alarm clock. But then I realize what today is and get semi excited. This is because today Bella and I get to go start junior year.

I jump out of bed to pick out an outfit. Normally, I just grab whatever, but today I'm meeting people that I want to make a good impression on. I end up picking a maroon collared button-up and black pants along with a classy grey vest. I picked them because they are perfect to show off a bit in. Even through the multiple layers of clothing, my muscles can still be noticed. I had only wished to be attractive, but I'm glad that the muscles came with the package. After this, I walk down the hall, and toward the bathroom, where I do my typical morning rituals.

Once done, I head downstairs to see Bella making eggs and bacon. She's gotten pretty good at making meals since Reneé doesn't cook much.

Isaac: "Good morning Bella!"

Bella: "Morning Isaac. Breakfast'll be done soon."

She tries to sound positive, but my super powered brotherly senses are tingling.

'Probably nervous about school. I'll check. Maybe I can offer my super brotherly advice! Don't get to do it often.'

Isaac: "You're nervous about school, aren't you?"

She turns off the stove and walks over to the counter where I'm sitting with the pan of eggs. The bacon is sitting on the counter already.

She sighs.

Bella: "How're you so calm about it? We're going to an entirely new school with people we know nothing about."

'Here comes the sagely brotherly advice.'

Isaac: "You sound like you're focusing on what can go wrong when you should be focusing on what can go right. For all you know, you could have a crappy time, but you could also find friends, and maybe even a boyfriend!"

I take a breath.

Isaac: "Just think happy thoughts."

She snorts.

Bella: "Thanks for the advice Peter."

Isaac: "No problem Wendy."

She gets to a stool and puts bacon and eggs onto a plate for herself, while I do the same.

I take a bite of the bacon and think about the future, which I can summarize into one thought.

'I'm gonna miss bacon when I only drink blood."

----------

Once we are both done with breakfast we hear two cars pulling up outside. We grab our bags and walk outside to see dad talking with Billy Black and Jacob. As soon as Jacob sees Bella, he stares with a smile on his face.

'Maybe my brotherly protective aura is turned off? I'll check.'

I start giving a death glare to Jacob who takes a couple seconds to notice, but when he does, he snaps out of his daze. We both walk up to our dad who was blissfully unaware of the looks that were exchanged.

He looks up.

Charlie: "Bella, Isaac, you remember Billy Black, right?"

Isaac: "Yeah! You still dancing Uncle Billy?"

He laughs hard, tapping his wheelchair.

Billy: "Oh yeah! Every saturday! You two are all grown up now, huh! You know it's good you got here when you did! Charlie here was going on and on about how you two were coming to live with him."

Dad looks away embarrassed.

Charlie: "Keep talking like that, I'll send you into a patch of mud."

Billy: "Not before I bruise your ankles!"

They both chuckle as Billy wheels himself forward and backwards in an attempt to look menacing.

Jacob then spoke up to Bella.

Jacob: "Remember me? We used to play in the mud together."

Bella: "Yeah, totally."

'My super powered brotherly senses are tingling again.'

After my dad and Uncle Billy are done horsing around with each other, he walks back over to us.

Charlie: "So how do you like it?"

Bella: "Like what?"

Jacob: "The truck!"

He walks over to the hood and pats it with a smile.

Jacob: "Tuned it myself."

Bella smiles and turns to dad.

Bella: "Thanks Charlie! This is awesome!"

I can tell Bella really loved this present. Reneé wasn't the best present giver even when she remembered it was our birthday.

I don't really care so much about presents, but Bella clearly does, and she was jubilant with this.

We say our goodbyes to dad, Uncle Billy, and Jacob, then head to school together in the truck. On the way, I notice that it seems like with every rev of the engine, my heart beats faster and faster in anticipation.

I take a deep breath with a smile on my face.
