Backfired

Tia arrived and witnessed the stand off between madam Pearl, Rin Chan and Tony.

She then noticed the bouquet and the huge panda bear sitting near Rin Chan.

"Oh, what's going on?"

Tia teasingly asked. She vaguely had an idea with what's happening yet she just want to see how would Rin Chan react.

Madam Pearl noticed her and enthusiastically spilled the tea for her.

And as expected Rin Chan shyly avoided her gaze.

Tony looked at Tia then he suddenly spoke.

"It's a good thing that you're here Ms. Tia. I'm here to announce that Jade and I are officially dating."

He exclaimed then he put his arms around Rin Chan's shoulders.

Everyone gasped in surprise, madam Pearl and Tia's eyes were both wide from shock.

Rin Chan froze in her spot. She felt like her brain short-circuited upon hearing what Tony had said. Tony smiled, Rin Chan immediately snapped out from her daze and squabble under Tony's arms.

"I'm doing this for your own good. Stay still..."

Tony whispered in her ears. His warm breath send shiver down her spine and she again turned docile, as if she was put under a spell.

Tia and madam Pearl were both delighted to hear the good news.

"Aiya, I'm sure you two love birds need time, Jade you can take the day off.."

Madam Pearl said. Rin Chan wanted to cry but tears wouldn't come out, she just helplessly nodded and glared at Tony.

"Very well, please excuse us.."

Tony suddenly exclaimed. He then picked up the bouquet and the stuffed toy, then dragged Rin Chan put of the tea shop heading towards her apartment.

The patrons and Rin Chan's colleagues who all witness the romantic declaration from Tony were all swooning as their gazes follow the lovers walking outside the cafe.

After they got quite far from the tea shop, Rin Chan retracted her hand but Tony held it more firmly.

"What are you doing.."

She irritatingly asked. She's not comfortable that Tony lied to her young miss.

"I'm saving you. Now lets go to your house."

Tony said, Rin Chan's hands were still on his grasp. His palm was rough and rugged but it was warm.

"Saving? I don't need you to save me.."

"Yes you do. I'm saving you so they would stop bothering you and setting you up with random bastards!"

Tony exclaimed. Rin Chan was stunned she could only bow her head.

Shw reckoned that althought she don't remember anything that occured with her date with Henry, it still felt traumatizing to her.

When they've reached her unit, Tony took the liberty to enter the passcode but it was denied.

Rin Chan smugly looked at him, she just changed her passcode that morning before going to work.

Tony then tried another passcode and it worked. It was none other than his date of birth.

"You like me that much eh?!"

"..."

He teased. Rin Chan immediately blushed, and couldn't rebutt.

She thought she would outsmart Tony by using his birthday as her passcode but it backfired big time instead.

Bonus chapter:

Earlier that day, Rin Chan was about to go to work when she suddenly remembered that Tony knew what her passcode is.

"I might as well change it.."

She said. Being that the reason she confessed to Tony was because of her being careless and confident that he won't ever find out.

She stood infront of her door thinking long and hard on what passcode combination to use.

"Eh, my birthday or Sean's birthday were too cliche..hmm.."

She said. Then as if a light bulb had light up her mind she entered Tony's date of birth as her password.

"Now you wouldn't think that I would be audacious enough to use you birthday as my passcode right?."

She remarked then she happily went to the tea shop.
