14 I’ll Kiss You Even If You’re Obedient

Apart from a few tables and the counter, there was also a claw machine at the side of the resting area. When he saw He Fang looking around, Qin Guanglin instinctively said, "Do you like them? I'll help you catch one."

He Fang glanced at him. "You don't know how to do it."

"What's so difficult about this?" Qin Guanglin was adamant. Although he had not done it before, he knew how to do it. It was just a matter of controlling the claw and aiming accurately.

"I don't like any of the dolls inside. I'll let you try another day if I see something I like." He Fang shook her head before smiling and glancing at him as if something came to mind.

Qin Guanglin scratched his head, slightly baffled. "What are you laughing at?"

"It's nothing." She stood up and threw the empty yogurt carton into the rubbish bin. "Come on. Let's walk around."

"Okay." Qin Guanglin took his unfinished drink with him as she dragged him out of the vast mushroom shelter.

"Is that a haunted house?" After they took a few steps and a turn, Qin Guanglin saw an enormous willow tree with a sign showing 'Ghost town' hung on it. Beside it was a building that looked like a castle.

"Seems to be."

"Come on. Let's go have some fun." Since Qin Guanglin felt fine after he had rested for a bit, he wanted more thrill.

"How scary. Let's try something else instead," He Fang hesitated.

"You're scared?" Qin Guanglin was a little excited. Thus far, He Fang had always been very excited to try out various rides. This was the first time he noticed that she was afraid of something.

He Fang glanced at him strangely, not knowing why he was excited. "It's quite normal to be afraid of the dark."

"The amusement park is all about the thrill. Let's go." Qin Guanglin definitely would not let this chance slip. He pulled her towards the haunted house, full of mischievous intentions.

She struggled briefly in a futile attempt. She had no choice but to follow Qin Guanglin to the entrance of the haunted house. "Let me tell you. I can accompany you in, but you can't scare me on purpose. You can't be too far away from me either. Otherwise, I'll get angry."

"Sure. I'll just keep holding on to you." Qin Guanglin pulled He Fang to the entrance. When he looked at the eerie house, his heart suddenly felt a little weak. It seemed very frightening.

"This way, please." A plump employee wearing a demon mask greeted them from a window in the wall. "The entrance is this way."

At this stage, Qin Guanglin could not possibly shrink back either. On top of that, He Fang looked even more scared than him. Her small hand had instinctively held on to him tightly, making him feel pleased for some strange reason.

It was probably the strange protective desire of a man at work here. In any case, he became more courageous when he saw that He Fang was scared.

"What's that smell?" He Fang wrinkled her nose.

Qin Guanglin sniffed as well. "It smells a bit weird. Let's go in, quick."

"It's a foul stench, a foul stench of a corpse," the plump employee explained cheerfully from inside. "Go in from the entrance on this side. If you survive, you can exit from that side. Otherwise… hehehe."

"Of course, we can find it." Qin Guanglin was confident. He turned around and said to He Fang, "Come on. Stick close to me."

He Fang gripped his hand while her other hand grabbed onto the hem of his shirt. She hid behind him and slowly walked in with him.

"There aren't any employees inside dressed up as ghosts to frighten us, right?" He turned around again to ask the fatso.

The fatso laughed mischievously. "It seems like there are. But it seems like there aren't, too. Go in and look."

"You're deliberately mystifying things." Qin Guanglin did not want to bother with him anymore. He pulled He Fang with him and walked in.

The light disappeared all of a sudden, leaving behind only weak rays from a few LED lights that allowed them to see the path without bumping into the walls. The sound of people sobbing that came from an unknown source made the atmosphere seem even more terrifying.

"This is the most rudimentary form of a haunted house. It uses darkness to create a sense of fear. It then makes use of fake people to make sudden movements. Just think of everything as fake, and you'll be fine." Qin Guanglin pretended to be very experienced as he spoke to He Fang. When he sensed He Fang pressing close to him, he immediately straightened his body even more.

Men were supposed to protect women like this, instead of screaming out of fright and needing women to comfort them.

The sullen feeling of being somewhat stifled all this while disappeared entirely. He exhaled heavily, having the misconception that his fortune had reversed.

"Heeheeheeheeheeheeheehee…" A little ghost with disheveled hair suddenly popped out of a vast wine vat on their right. He even let out eerie laughter.

"Ah!" He Fang trembled and screamed briefly before tightly hugging Qin Guanglin.

It gave Qin Guanglin a shock as well. Luckily, he had not let out a sound. He turned around and patted He Fang's back in an attempt to comfort her. "It's fake. It's fake. No need to be afraid. We'll walk past them."

He looked down. He Fang leaned against his body with her eyes tightly closed. This allowed him to bring her along as he walked forward. She did not even look where she was going.

'Is she this timid…?' Qin Guanglin snickered to himself. He walked ahead as he spoke to her loudly. That bit of fear in his heart had vanished entirely, and he had never been as bold as he was now.

All the phantoms only jumped out at them, accompanied by frightening sound effects. And with that, he lost interest midway through and merely wanted to walk out as soon as possible. The pitch-black environment felt a little oppressive. Being outside in a brightly lit and spacious area was more comfortable.

Behind them, sounds of iron chains colliding against each other arose. Qin Guanglin turned to look and saw that a tall, gigantic figure had turned up. It was holding something massive that looked like an ax as it walked towards them. It even quickened its steps as he saw his head turn. The crashing sounds of the iron chains became even hastier.

"Let's go, quick." Qin Guanglin tugged He Fang briefly. He did not know what that thing was behind him. Did the haunted house have actual people dressed as ghosts? That was not quite possible.

If they could not find a way out… He recalled what the fatso outside had said and his evil laughter. Were they going to pull them both into some black room to suffer punishment?

Qin Guanglin's heart tightened. This stupid haunted house. It was not fun.

He Fang heard the noise behind her, too. She cracked her eyes and turned to look. She then screamed in surprise and hastily turned back, wrapping her arms around him even more tightly.

Qin Guanglin pulled her along, and they briskly walked a few steps ahead. He became even more anxious when he realized that He Fang was a little stiff and was dragging her feet. However, the thing behind them had caught up with them, so he bent down, hooked his arm around He Fang's legs, and lifted her bridal style. He then dashed forward.

Fortunately, he had worked out often with his roommates in college. Although he had been a homebody for two years and had not worked out, his foundation was still there. Qin Guanglin did not find it that difficult to carry her. Chased by the strange thing behind him, he fled in disarray inside the haunted house.

This haunted house was so vast, or maybe the better word was winding, that he was a little weary after running for some time. He was already sweating, but that thing behind him was still chasing after him, neither slow nor fast. Whenever Qin Guanglin had any thoughts of stopping, it would follow him closely. Along the way, mannequins would spring out from time to time and make all sorts of strange noises. It was very annoying.

Going on like this was not an option… Qin Guanglin was secretly panicking inside. As he turned a corner, he leaped to the side while carrying He Fang and hid in a pitch-dark corner. His back was facing outwards and his front facing the wall, hiding He Fang completely. He held his breath while keeping tabs on the situation behind him.

His entire body was too stiff. He was thinking about jumping out and confronting that thing if it dared to approach them.

The chain sounds moved gradually closer and halted after turning the corner. After that, the haunted house instantly turned silent that even Qin Guanglin dared not even exhale. He was preparing for retaliation anytime.

He Fang's head moved. Under the weak rays of light, her eyes seemed to give off light. As she breathed, her warm breath landed on Qin Guanglin's collarbones. Qin Guanglin then realized that she was no longer as stiff as she had been earlier. She seemed to have relaxed entirely and was very soft.

They did not know how much time passed. Perhaps it had been a very long time, or perhaps a moment. The chain sounds rang around again, and it sounded like it was from the direction they came from, triggering a series of movements from the mannequins.

But the sounds moved further and further away. The two of them hid in the corner, and both were very cautious that they did not walk out immediately. They blended into the darkness.

"Is it gone?" He Fang asked softly.

"I think so." Qin Guanglin listened to the sounds in the distance. "It's not too far away."

In the darkness, He Fang lifted her head and pressed her moist, warm lips against his. It caught Qin Guanglin off-guard that he froze immediately.

Before he could properly experience the sensation, the moist feeling had already left his lips. Fang only gave him a slight peck; her lips left immediately after touching his.

"Is it soft?" He Fang spoke softly into his ear.

"What?" Qin Guanglin was a little out of it. He was still thinking about that brief sensation earlier.

He Fang fidgeted. Only then did he realize that his hand was on her butt.
