1 Prologue 1

"My instincts are telling me, something wrong is ought to happen tonight."

"Ah grandpa, how many times do I need to assure you that nothing wrong will happen tonight? Tonight is going to be the best night of my life. Tonight, I will get engaged to my prince charming."

Qin Tian released a deep breath and smiled at her grandpa; her smile was so enchanting that it could make anyone bewitched.

Walking hand in hand with her grandpa; wearing the latest Chanel gown, a diamond necklace around her neck and diamond earrings in her ears; long hair set in the style of a crown; Qin Tian was looking no less than a queen. Her steps were powerful and full of confidence.

"I am worried about you. I am worried that Ah Tong will do something to snatch your happiness. You know she is not the one to stay quiet, not after what you have done with her?"

A concerned grandfather looked at his granddaughter.

Qin Yanze looked at Qin Tian and she was looking very beautiful tonight. There was rare happiness on her face, happiness that soon she was going to get engaged.

He was happy for her. But on the other hand, he was also concerned for her.

He was worried because he knew Qin Yutong was not going to stay quiet, not after what Qin Tian did to her.

Fan Yifeng, soon to be fiancé of Qin Tian was betrothed to Qin Yutong from the age of five. But Qin Tian who was filled with the hunger for revenge, from her childhood, snatched Fan Yifeng from her cousin.

From the time of her birth, her maternal family tortured and bullied her because she was born out of wedlock, her father still unknown. She worked like a donkey because of them and always, the credit for her hard work was given to her cousins.

She smartly dealt with many multi-million deals, and tackled many tough clients but who got the credit, her cousins!

Qin Tian was always filled with vengeance against this injustice, all the torture. Hence, she decided to snatch the happiness of her cousin Qin Yutong.

Qin Tian was beautiful and using her beauty as a weapon, she snatched Fan Yifeng. She seduced him and that too on the day when Fan Yifeng planned to propose to Qin Yutong.

Qin Tian got a wind of his plan and very smarty, she arrived at the hotel room where Fan Yifeng had planned the lavish proposal.

Fan Yifeng was shocked to find her in the room instead of Qin Yutong. Before he could react, Qin Tian kissed him hard. The kiss was a full mouth kiss which left Fan Yifeng wanting more.

Fan Yifeng was able to send Qin Tian away before things could progress any further or before the arrival of Qin Yutong but from then on, he was not able to erase Qin Tian from his system.

Qin Tian was no less. She applied for the internship in his company and soon enough, their affair started. Sitting on his lap, and giving him kisses was very common for her and soon, Fan Yifeng was falling for her, maybe!

Qin Tian did everything in her power to make Fan Yifeng fall for her. She was the reason why Fan Yifeng broke with Qin Yutong and today, they were going to get engaged.

She would be having delight after watching her cousin broken-hearted.

"I can only hope that your uncle and aunt are not planning something vicious. They love Ah Tong more than anything. They will not stay quiet and watch you getting engaged with Yifeng."

"Grandpa, don't worry. I don't think they are planning something today."

Qin Yanze was still feeling nervous. His guts were saying that something wrong was going to happen tonight.

"Grandpa, smile." Qin Tian chided. "We are already in the ballroom. What will guests think if they see your sullen face?"

After thirty minutes

The worst fear of Qin Yanze came true, his son and daughter in law were not the ones to sit quietly. They were able to destroy the happiness of Qin Tian within thirty minutes.

"Why?" Qin Tian yelled and fell on the ground in front of Fan Yifeng. Tears were falling from her eyes.

The engagement which was going to take place between her and Fan Yifeng was now going on between Qin Yutong and Fan Yifeng.

"What do you think, I will leave my Tong-Tong only because of your kisses? My love for her was not so weak."

Fan Yifeng smirked and kicked her. Qin Yutong proudly looped her arm around Fan Yifeng's and smirked at Qin Tian.

"Poor TianTian, she thought she can snatch my fiancé from me. Fool! I knew all along as to what you were planning? I am no fool like you."

Qin Tian clutched hard on her thigh and looked at the mocking faces of the Fan family, her cousins, and her maternal aunt.

She looked around at the guests. They were gossiping and laughing at her, calling her a home wrecker. The one who came in between her brother in law and her cousin. Her so-called socialist friends were also among them.

Yes, she came in between them, so what! She was a villain in their lives so what! She only wanted revenge, revenge for her sufferings from her childhood. She wanted to snatch the happiness of her cousin.

So what if she tried to harm her cousin, so what? Hadn't her cousin tried to kill her too? Hadn't her cousins snatched her happiness too?

"Yifeng, why are you doing this to me? Didn't you say you love me?" Qin Tian tried to stand up, but she has ruthlessly pushed away.

"Love? You disgust me." Fan Yifeng spat. "Kissing you was hell for me. Whenever I looked at your face, I always wished to puck."

His words sliced the heart of Qin Tian.

"Now, now, don't act as if you loved him. We all know that you only wanted to snatch him from Tong'er. You were with him for his name and money. Gold-digger b!tch."

Her heart skipped a beat when she heard a familiar voice. She raised her head only to see her best friend of sixteen years loathing her.

"What? Shocked to see me supporting Yutong?"

"You…."

Best friend of Qin Tian, Lin Yue chuckled. Raw betrayal registered on the face of Qin Tian. "I never liked you Qin Tian. You were full of yourself, so egoistic, so arrogant. I was envious of your beauty and brain. I hated you. I hated the way you were the top socialist in the society."

Again, fresh tears spilt out from the eyes of Qin Tian. The betrayal of her best friend was worse than that of Fan Yifeng.

"Who do you think told Fan Yifeng and Qin Yutong about your plan? I told them. I told Fan Yifeng that you did not love him. It was all an act."

Did she not love him?

It was the truth that she only wanted him because Qin Yutong loved him, but did she not love him? She did, maybe. At least, she started to see her future with him. She imagined her bright and happiness filled future with him but now her future was gone.

'No, I did not love him. I can't be heartbroken over him.' Qin Tian removed her tears and tried to console her heart.

"Why are you sitting here like a fool? Leave, I don't want to see your ugly face on my special day." Qin Yutong yelled and pushed Qin Tian hard.

She applied so much force that Qin Tian fell from the makeshift stage. Qin Yanze rushed toward her rescue. He looked at his princess with sadness in his eyes.

Among the mocking laughter and humiliating words of guests, Qin Yanze pulled a dazed Qin Tian out of the ballroom and toward the car.

"Grandpa, why did I fail? Why do my uncle and aunt always succeed in giving me pain? Why can't I do something vicious to them? I want to hurt them the way they have hurt me and my mother."

Qin Tian broke down and hugged Qin Yanze tight. He continuously rubbed her back, feeling worst for her.

At that moment, he realised that Qin Tian would never be happy if she stayed with her uncle and aunt. They'd find a way or another to counterfoil her plans or a way to hurt her.

'I have already seen her suffer from the last twenty years, but now no more. I have to send her away, no matter what. Otherwise, she will die in the hands of Qin Yihong.'

With this determination, Qin Yanze called his assistant and asked him to make all the arrangements and after a week, unbeknown to anyone, Qin Tian was all ready to leave Shanghai for good.

It was not easy for Qin Yanze to make Qin Tian agree about the same. She gave him a tough fight.

"Grandpa, I don't want to go. If I wanted to go then I'd have left a long ago. You know I can't leave you alone here, in this hell hole. God knows what uncle and aunt will do to you in my absence."

"They will do nothing to me, not until I have whole property and business on my name. But we don't know, what they will do to you. They have already squeezed your skills. Now no more. Leave. Go away from this hell hole."

After a lot of emotional blackmailing, Qin Yanze was able to make the mind of Qin Tian leave the country.

"I don't want to leave you."

"Don't make me emotional again. You know how hard it is for me to send you off." Qin Yanze blinked his teary eyes. "Now tell me miss, have you taken your new identity cards as Nian Tian?"

"Yes, I have. I have also packed all the necessary things." Qin Tian replied before Qin Yanze could question about the same.

"Now go, your new life is already waiting for you."

Qin Yanze nudged Qin Tian toward the private plane which would take her out of the country, a place which was unknown to him, a place where Qin Tian would start a new life as Nian Tian.

She looked at her grandpa with tears filled in her eyes.

"Grandpa I will miss you." She hugged him tightly, not knowing when she'd hug him next time. "Take good care of yourself and don't miss me."

"Now go and live your new life, away from all the hatred and pain. I am sure you will find your true happiness and true love of life."

Qin Tian broke the hug and smiled at him. She turned and made her way toward the aeroplane, toward her new life!
