Su Jiu and Ji Yuxian walked until the sky was almost dark. Halfway through their journey, they managed to defeat a group of assassins who were after them. They held onto a booklet that emitted fire as they walked out of the forest, and a small valley appeared in front of them.

It was dark before they managed to walk out of the valley. They found a bit of flat ground to lay down on and decided to take a break.

"Wait for me here. I'll go look for some food!" Su Jiu told Ji Yuxian as she headed off with a bamboo pole.

Within fifteen minutes, Su Jiu returned with two hares on the pole.

She plucked the rabbits' fur, cut their chests open, and cleaned the insides. Su Jiu laughed as she commented, "Our luck is not bad. It's usually quite difficult to source food during this period in the mountains!"
