CHAPTER 20

AURELIA

As we started our drive, I took a deep breath and prepared myself mentally, then physically started doing some mouth exercises so I was ready to spill all my sins to the demon lord, aka the devil, aka Cass, aka my big sister.

"Okayyyy girllll, now spilll!"

I jumped at the shrill shriek from my sister's voice.

"What is wrong with you Cass, jeez, I'm right next you, so are my ears!" I rubbed the underside of my ear for effect to prove that she nearly deafened me from her loud voice.

"Oh, shush! And stop trying to change the topic!" she laughed saying.

My eyes widened, "I am so not trying to change the topic!"

"Yes, you were!"

"Did not!"

"Ditto"

I rolled my eyes, clearly, she was not about to let up anytime soon, and so I was forced to start talking. The taste bitter as a gourd, I start to swallow the words as they were about abscond from the cages that were my mouth, but alas! It was too late.

"Islappedaguyandnowhewantsrevengeonme" Well, this sort of sums it all up.

I slammed my hands against my mouth as the words slipped out in a much-frenzied determination, as if having a mind of its own. Or, maybe it was me using my own mind, which is my own head, connected to my body, so then the words really came out that way, because that was how I wanted to say it. It was only following my lead.

First of all, why am I ranting in my own head, it's not healthy. Imagine if thought interference, psychometry, and telepathists was possible. Anyone who would have been listening in would have definitely though that I was mentally demented, a human completely unhinged, hanging on by a thread of sanity, beyond the possibility of being ameliorated at all.

Second of all, why have we stopped on the corner- I turn to face my sister to find her already staring at me with a puzzled expression.

"Why have we stopped in the corner of the road?"

"No, first you answer me, what did you just say?"

Confused, I asked her, "What?"

"What did you just say Lia? You were telling me about how you ended up in detention."

"Oh," suddenly I remembered what I was saying. "Right, I uh, hit a guy. Well, more like I smacked his face, like really hard, and now he wants to extract revenge from me."

"Woah, woah, back up, you hit a guy, why would you do that Lia? We have to tell Mom and Dad!"

"Woah, you back up sister, you promised that you wouldn't dare tell Mom, Dad or Bea, and you have to hold up on that promise!"

"Yes, I know but this is serious!"

"Look, I really didn't mean to! It just happened, I thought he was going to hurt one of my friends. As he was in the process of doing so, my hands sort of connected with his cheek."

I put on my most adorable face as I finished my last admission.

"Oh, stop it!"

"uwu" I say reaching over for a hug as she tries to pull herself free from me.

"Fine, I won't tell anyone, but just this once!" she says, swatting my hands away.

"Ow Cass!"

She sticks her tongue out at me, then getting back into gear, she starts to pull out of the corner as we continue to make our way to pick up Bea.

The rest of the way, Cass seemed to be in thought, with furrowed brows, her lips thinned together in a straight line. She had the windows down, so her long dark brown hair was all around her oval shaped face. She made no attempts to get it out of her face too. Silly girl! I always thought that with Cass's height, 5'9", she would have taken a liking to being a model.

I mean, since she was always so tall growing up, walking all over the house in her long legs, I thought, she was a model when I barely had any sense. She got that from our Mom. Our Mom was super tall, like almost taller than our dad! Now grown up, I still feel like she is a model, and since that was not to her inclination at all, she would have to remain just as my role model. I admired her for what she is, and will grow older to be.

The insides of her car were impeccably spotless. As I try to move around the stuff in the glove compartment, she slaps my hands away.

"Ow, Cass, why so violent?" I rubbed at the spot she had hit.

She rolls her eyes at me. She had a passion for neatness, something I also didn't get from my mom.

I know she's still a little upset that I hit a guy. I really didn't mean to, at least not in the way it happened.

Coming to a stop in front of Bea's school, we see her hopping around in front of the gates. Seeing us, she stops, and runs towards the car, getting in the back seat. Reaching forward to kiss Cass and I before she starts to talk about her day with extreme adrenaline, until she notices my clothing.

Now, you guys tell me how I'm supposed to explain to my family why I'm in my gym clothes instead of the one I left home in this morning? It is no easy task, I mean, the second I walk through that door and anyone sees me, they're bound to comment, possibly negative ones. Or worse, they jump to ridiculous conclusions and I won't be able to handle the ludicrous assumptions made. Which would most likely lead to me having a heart attack. Remember, I'm not ready to die just yet!

"Tell me again why you're not in the clothes you left home in this morning?" Bea asked me for the fifth time now since she got in as we are on our way home.

"Well Bea, for the last time, I had gym and I slipped, so my clothing got messed up, the gym teacher offered to let me use the gym clothing for the rest of the day."

Her face morphed into a little scowl, "you just said you fell down!"

I rolled my eyes at her, "yes I did, and it's the same thing, I slipped, different name for same outcome, I ended up on the ground with my clothing dirty!" I nearly snapped at her, she just kept asking me the same thing over and over. I knew what she was trying to do, she was trying to catch me in a lie, she didn't believe me. Me, being me almost just got caught, because I slipped up. Better not make another one of those mistakes.

As my little sister is grinding my ass with questions, hoping to catch me in a lie, my big sister is laughing her idiotic self off. I wanted to smack her mouth shut! I shot a glare at her, to which she just wiggled her eyebrows instead and started laughing again.

She was not happy with the mentioned fact that it all started because of me, but the rest of everything that went down, she was pretty chill with that. After, she gave me advice to proceed with caution with everything I plan to do before things spin out of control.

We were home already, Bea, shot out the second the car stopped moving. So, it was just Cass and I, taking our sweet time to get out the car, and walk through the front doors of the house.

"Now remember, be cool!" she says.

I start to normalize my breathing as I go through the plan in my head. I can't look nervous at all, or else they'll catch me in a lie. Walking through the double doors, I peek around the living room, seeing as there is no one in sight. I stop and consider an option, if I could just clamber up the stairs without anyone noticing me, I could just change and say I was sweaty.

A harsh pull on my ear has me moaning in pain. "Owww, what was that for?"

Turning around I see Cass, behind me. She's holding up a hand, a finger pointing my way, "Don't you even think of it Lia, else I'm forgetting my promise and maybe I'll accidentally spill some secrets."

"Huh," I let out a shocked gasp, my hands going to my chest, with mock horror taking over my entire face. "What do you mean, I'm not even thinking anything, and you wouldn't even dare!"

You can say, you call my bluff, because, exactly! I'm bluffing, and Cass really could tell on me, but I'd have to do something horrendous enough to force her words out. I am her sister after all, and we did make a promise.

"Sure," she says, giving me a look that she didn't believe me. "Now let's go according to the plan."

She steps in front of me, and walks towards the pathway leading up to the kitchen as I follow her.

We both stopped by the shoe stand, taking off our sneakers and placing it there, surely, making a mental note to take it up to our rooms after this very much anticipated conversation I just want to get over with.

Socks still on my feet, I start twirling and sliding my way to the kitchen on the tiled floor. It was pristine white with a hint of lilac based flowers set in the middle of each tile. So was the rest of the house walls, In the daytime hours, It looked like it had a color, but as night came around, you could see that it shows white, and without a second look, you would insist it was a plain white wall.

* Guys, I really feel like this chapter was a bit confusing , I'm so sorry if it was.

* Also, I would like to point out; Descriptions of characters/places eg. School, houses of MC's not fully described, will *slowly* be fitted into future chapters. OR, I may just try to fit it in the past chapters and do a re- write of them.

Sorry for any misconvenience this may be causing. xD
