CHAPTER 1

AURELIA GWENEVIERE QUINTIA

Ughh, why won't the stupid sock just go in, I tried pulling up the sock for the hundredth time only for it to get stuck on my toe nails. And as I've decided to stand up while doing this, my position just has to bite me in the ass, because as the sock gets stuck as I pull it forward, I lose my balance and I feel myself falling backward in slow motion. My death flashes before my eyes before I can even comprehend that I am falling.

I see me falling down, on my back on the floor, then my head last falls and with the force I fall with, my head busts, blood coming out of it as I go into shock my eyes wide open and my mouth shut as I can't say anything, but my parents and sisters hear the fall and so they all run into my room but by the time they all get there I bleed out before their eyes, my life leaving my body as they all starred on, eyes wide horrified at what lie before them.

And fall indeed I did with a blood curdling scream, except none of what I foresaw happened, because I fell on my back, bouncing on my mattress. Yes, I fell, but on my bed as I was standing right before it. "Ughhh," I let out frustratedly as I sat up fixing the sock that finally went into my feet properly. Getting up, I grabbed my high-top boot and sat down on the edge of my bed because, no, we didn't want a repeat of what happened just five seconds ago, and put it on, then retreated out of my room to go downstairs.

Finding mom in the kitchen, I went up behind her and kissed her cheeks a good morning. Holding my hands over her shoulders, she goes, "Lia, why were you just screaming?" Rolling my eyes, I go, " I fell as I was putting my sock on, and before I did, I saw my death happen before my eyes and you guys crying over my body."

Of Course, I added a bit more than I should but please, we girls need to be a bit dramatic sometimes to make a point. And I did, because with a shocked expression my Mom asks, "Did you fall and hit somewhere? Should we take you to the hospital?"

"Nehh, I fell on my bed," I shrugged out my reply and she playfully hit my shoulders and I started laughing.

I watched the time on my phone and suddenly remembered that I had school to attend, "Mom, I'm going to be late if we don't hurry up!"

"Cass, Bea, hurry up, adult and kid!" Mom shouted from the bottom of the stairs to my sisters upstairs.

"You know, it would be so much easier if my 20-year-old sister would just get the hell up when she knows she needs to go to college, not when she needs to already be in college."

"Ugghh" Almost not getting out my frustrated word for this week, I was interrupted with, "Aurelia Gweneviere Quintia, watch your language!"

Yes, I know. What a name you must be thinking. But you should really hear the rest of our name, wait. for it. it. And it is as follows: Cassia Juno Quintia (Cass), Beana Isolde Quintia (Bea), Acelynn Gaia Quintia (Mom), Bernadette Thomasin (Dad).

As you can probably already tell, the three-name tradition came from Mom's side of the family, not Dad's. Apparently, Grandma's name was Priscilla Gaia Quintia, but she took Grandpa's last name, insisting that their grand-kids take their kids last name, hence the reason why we all took mom last name and not dads. Not that dad or any of us have a problem with that, nor the pressure of giving our own kids our last name and not their dads.

"But mom, it's only the place Satan guards for his father to put us all because we want to eat the chicken but not touch it when it needs to be cleaned for cooking."

I spoke loudly enough for my sisters to hear me, and surely enough, 14-year-old Bea replied in a "Satan's not real" sing-song voice and Cass, like the smart ass she is, says; "speak for yourself Satan darling", smirking as she descends the stairs with my little sister.

Going up behind her on tippy toes, I twisted her ear, "who you calling Satan's darling, I don't belong to Satan."

"No, but your beautiful little sinning soul belongs to him. And you clearly owe him that much since especially you're the one who doesn't like to help Mom clean it, but you stuff your gut with it," she replies tauntingly.

I scowled at her, muttering under my breath, "you're such an inconsiderate sister." Holding my hand to my heart, I put on my most hurt expression, "You hurt me, you break my tiny heart into a million pieces."

"Oh, shut up, you're so dramatic," she starts laughing at me as she talks. As she finishes, and looks at me, I squint, furrowing my eyebrows at her and she does the same, then we both burst out laughing.

My big sister Cass will be going to Claremont Saints College, and my little sister will be attending Midoriya Middle School. I have no doubts they will both fit in just fine at their new schools. As for me, I'm really nervous and I hope that I don't freak out on my first day and be seen as a freak, because then that would scar me for the rest of not just the school year but also the rest of my life.

"Girls enough now, did you forget you're all getting late for your first days of Middle school, High school, and college"

"No", we all said in unison with grim voices, hardly sparing each other a glance.

We had just moved from Australia to Montreal, Canada because dad got a promotion and had to transfer. We all supported everything our family did, even the moving part, but what none of us were happy about was having to transfer schools and college, and leaving our life and everything we knew behind. Now we've all got to get up and restart.

So basically, we all transferred. Mom worked from home online so at least she didn't have much to worry about, that made one less of us and we were happy for dad, he was always good at what he did so we never stopped believing in him.

"Is daddy also coming with us?" Bea asked

Not a second later, we all hear, "of course my little loves" coming from behind us as dad put his hand around me and Cass, Bea in the middle pulling us close together for a hug and kiss on our cheeks.

"Bern, you need to stop spoiling them with pet names, they're not kids anymore, they're big girls. It's time for them to take on the world."

"Sure, they will but when they step foot out that front door, that's when they need to worry about the world. As long as they're still inside the house, they're still our babies", he points to the front door as he speaks.

Totally agreeing with our dad, we each gave him a kiss on the cheeks, taking turns in muttering I love you's to him, while mom smiled looking on.

Bea wiggled her way from between us, running straight to the car yelling as she went, "I call dibs on the front seat."

"Oh, no you don't, you little demon!" me, a 17-year-old yelled, scrambling after my little sister, taking off in a run, ready to bully her for the front seat I know I deserve to sit in.

"Mom, Lia called me a demon, that also makes her one!"

Dad and Mom laughed, muttering something about being teenagers under their breath. "Thank god I'm already an adult", Cass said, shaking her head. In the end, Cass, Mom and Bea had to sit in the back seat while Dad drove and I got to sit in the queen's throne.

"Blehhh", I stuck my tongue out to my sister while she scrunched her nose, shoving her tongue back out to me, then we both giggled at our silliness.

Bea got to her school first, Mom had to go with her to the principal's office to get her schedule. The good thing with Cass and I was that her college and my high school emailed us our schedules and what we needed to know so we already knew all the important stuff.

They said their greetings to us, Mom saying she would wait until dad dropped Cass off at her college to come back and pick her up and Bea a simple kiss to the cheek and muttering of, I love you's from us all. We watched as mom and her walked up the stairs to the front door security and then we drove off to our next destination, which was my high school.
