The Game

The banquet hall was buzzing, every house was here, that's why. While other students are busy chatting, Katara is busy eating. Personally, the Principal calls every student, Dianna says he was going to wish good luck and bless every game participant. This happens every year, as tastes the tasty meat she eats she can't help but eat more. She knows that she shouldn't act this way, she should be elegant but she can't besides. Ms. Ramos is not watching, she'll just need to hide how she eats.

"Are you really going to participate?" Celina asks Katara for the tenth time, she really looks so worried. Katara nodded again, while her mouth was full. She chew her food and then swallowed it before she spoke.

"Yes, I won't change my mind, so don't worry anymore," Katara answered.

"I know, but still…" Katara chuckles and puts some meat at Celina in her mouth carefully. Celina accepted it and then chewed her food.

"I will go out alive, I promise. I don't have any intention of dying young, not again." She whispered the last words and then tapped Celina's shoulder. It didn't take long when the Principal and the Prince entered, the principal walking behind Deimos.

He intentionally cleared his throat and caught everyone's attention. The banquet hall instantly gets silent in the blink of an eye.

"Good evening the students and future of Feronia, I am glad of your presence. We all know the Foundation day celebration starts tomorrow, we are here together with the Crown Prince of Feronia to bless all of the students, especially the student's participants of the game. We wish you good luck and hope you enjoy the celebration—" Katara looked at the front and then saw Deimos who's expressions were less. She continued to eat, and minutes passed and a professor started to call their names. Every student's participants walked towards.

As she was called she stood up with a high chin and then walked towards elegantly and she could feel the stares at her back. Some students whispered about her, and she saw Janice smirk. She just ignores her and then kneels her one leg in front of the crown prince. She felt his hand place on her head gently, she felt something warm as he used his power to bless her.

"You may succeed," He said it was a normal tone of voice but it's deep. She can't help but look at him, his eyes are saying everything. He was looking at her in a gentle way like she's a fragile glass.

After that, she kneels in front of the Principal who also blesses her. She walks back to their table. This also seems like the opening of the celebration tomorrow. That's why musicians and some dancers perform. She heard cello music. It's calm and harmonic. She continues to eat, and talk to Celina and Dianna.

The next morning the Academy is lively, there is already a program being built everywhere on the campus. People are welcome and allowed to enter. That's why the security is more secure, every person is being inspected. And everyone who's suspicious will be imprisoned, Katara looks at herself in the mirror. Sweat from her forehead slid down to her face down to her neck, she exercised early in the morning to get ready.

She also practices how to use the ring, and Prof Alan is a true genius because it's easy to use and it could really protect her from elemental powers.

Before the game starts, Katara goes back to the Greenhouse to check if the crown prince is there. She waited for him for almost 20 minutes before she decided to go back, but she was about to open the door when someone had already done.

She was dragged and lost her balance for a second. It's a good thing that the crown prince held her hand and pulled her back.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" He immediately apologized.

"No, it's okay! It's okay…" She said, and the crown prince looked at her.

"Are you okay?" They ask in unison to each other.

"You first M'lady." The prince muttered, Katara took a deep breath and walked to the greenhouse.

"Ummm thank you, are you alright? You seem exhausted." Asking Katara, the crown prince nodded.

"Yes, I am. Thank you, I am looking for you. Actually…"

"I am too, so I decided to walk here to speculate."

"Here…" Katara looked at the Prince handed to her, she knotted her forehead and couldn't believe what he just lent.

"No, I can't accept that." She immediately declined, it's his sword. The design changes but she can still feel the power that sword hold, the crown prince is not a crown prince of nothing. According to what she heard, at a young age, he was already sent to the battlefield as a leader and warrior and helped to win a war countless times, his sword was from their descendants that already slew millions of lives that made it more precious and more valuable. They said everyone who owns it will definitely succeed.

"I can't, I can't use that, your highness." She continued.

"I'll just lend this to you, you don't need to use it, just let this be on your side." The sword transforms into a knife size.

"I can't, it's valuable. You don't have to Your highness, it's yours." She disagreed, but at the end of the day, she accepted it.

A deafening scream Katara hears inside of the arena, they are now at the stage in front of many people. She's wearing black boots, black leather jeans, and a white stretchable jacket. She chose the most comfortable one she had because it's convenient, and the cheers from the students continued.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is what we are waiting for! The game of the fittest, no one knows what game they'll be playing for but will they be able to survive?" Katara took a deep breath.

A large screen of water was on the surface of the arena, where every game participant's images were being shown together with their age, houses, and powers.

"Now let me ask every participant a certain question." The emcee walked towards each of them and started answering questions.

"From the house of Celeste (Blue) Miranda Avenlon, can you win this game?" Cheers from their house roared, she smiled confidently.

"I am, and I will," Miranda responded and the cheering from the crowds got louder.

"Yes! I like it!" The gay emcee rejoices.

"Next from the house of Fiammetta! (Red)" The cheers from their house also load as fuxk, it wasn't surprising since they're one of the strongest. They said once you enter the portal, there's no turning back until the game ends. The only thing she needs is to survive the game, every step they'll make will be seen so she can't be reckless.

"Now, let me ask the very first ordinary students who were chosen to play the game." All of them were silent, no one cheered for her but that's okay she hated it though.

"What is your last will?" She looked at the emcee and smiled.

"This is not my last will, but mark my words. You'll remember my name." She said with full confidence, from the very corner of the Arena Deimos smirk.
