Time seemed to pass slowly as Ra began to properly attend his classes.

He was no longer free to do as he liked, When Instructor Shizune taught practical magic Ra reluctantly performed the extremely basic spells with the rest of his class.

"Today, All of you will be working on a group project, split into teams of three and begin constructing this magic array." She spoke as she drew magical lines in the air.

"Like so, the effect of this array should be to multiply the strength of a common spell." she said while simultaneously throwing a low grade fire bullet through her array."

When the fire bullet reappeared on the other side of the array it had transformed to become a fire ball, which Instructor Shizune quickly extinguished by clenching her fist."

"The best results will win a prize for their entire team, You may begin."

The classroom immediately became noisy as recruits began rushing to team up with their friends, A few recruits even began hurrying in Ra's direction who was half asleep on his desk having instantly memorized and replicated the array above his head.

He felt a hot gaze boring into the back of his head and when he glanced up; found Instructor Shizune staring daggers at him with her hands on her hips.

Sighing, He dispersed his array and began looking for someone to team up with, choosing a pair of average looking recruits who were glancing around worriedly, he sat on one of their desks and began talking after giving them a quick assessment.

"You, girl, what's your name?

"M-Me?" The girl asked, shocked, while pointing at herself with a shaking finger.

"No, The girl behind you." Ra said, looking behind the girl.

"Oh!" And the girl quickly turned around to find no one behind her.

Ra held his head in his hands.

"Calm down, that was my bad, look, what is your name? Here, I'm Ra Usfur." he said, extending his hand.

The boy took it first.

"I'm Maugris." He said in a hoarse, shaky voice.

He cleared his throat, Then nudged the girl.

"G-Gwendolyn..." She stuttered, Blushing as Ra took her hand, this could not be blamed on her, Ra intimidated many women with his handsome looks but the true culprit for the present situation was Bast. Of course Ra knew nothing about this.

"Ah, so it's little sister Gwen, You can relax, let big bro here help you."

He gave the girl a reassuring smile.

"Do the two of you understand the array?" he asked in a soft measured voice.

The pair shook their heads.

"Ok well, it's like this." And he went on to explain how the function of the array was designed to merge this point with this juncture and the overlap produced such an effect causing this layer of the array to cease movement which forced this part and this part to separate..." and as he spoke he drew slowly in the air making sure they saw each movement he made and ensuring they understood the why and how, by the time he completed the array their eyes were shining like nova stars.

He smiled at them again.

"Do you guys understand the array?" he asked again.

And the two nodded vigorously.

Ra dispersed the array he had formed and waved his hand in an exaggerated manner to show them they could begin.

Chatting animatedly, the atmosphere was completely changed, Instructor Shizune was watching them with a pleased expression.

"This woman is using me." he sighed, but a smile still crossed his face as he watched them accurately put together the array, It was slow, but 3 hours later they were finished, and they pulled at Ra's sleeve in an effort to wake him up to appraise their work.

Ra stood and approached their array, finding no major issues apart from a few flaws that might cause the spells they passed through it to not strengthen as much, overall it was a successful array that fulfilled the set conditions.

He flashed them a thumbs up.

Instructor Shizune, Seeing that everyone had more or less completed their arrays began going from group to group, grading their arrays and testing their structures, she was very thorough.

While most of the arrays were passable a few of them directly exploded beneath her inspection, she marked those as failures, by the time she had gotten to Ra's group she was covered in soot, questionable colors of slime, her blouse was torn and she did not look happy as she approached them apprehensively.

"Full marks." she said after sparing no more than a single glance at their array.

Ra was shook but the pair of Maugris and Gwendolyn were ecstatic.

"Big brother, did you do something to the array?"

They gazed up at him with shining eyes.

But Ra merely chuckled while shaking his head.

"Look for yourself, That array was done by the two of you alone, it is exactly the same, flaws and all."

"Then?"

Ra nodded.

"Yeah!"

This was a major confidence boost to them.
