The Girl I Love

Ra and Bast arrived at the cafeteria, finding it, quite surprisingly, empty.

Ra laughed happily

"They're probably still at the Arena watching the battle vid!" he said

"Battle vid?

"Oh yeah, earlier- Hannah, Jace and I took this challenge in the Arena and we set 2 records, apparently this was broadcasted all over the island, when we completed the challenge it seemed like everyone at the Academy was trying to get inside."

"A new record? how fast did you guys clear it to make everyone abandon everything to go see it?"

"About 5 minutes" Ra said nonchalantly

"Oh, well I'd expect for you to at least be able to kill an Adult Green Dragon in 5 minutes" she said, nodding.

Ra shook his head, "wasn't a green dragon"

"No? then what was it?"

"Evolved Black"

"What!"

"and a Young Black, together"

Bast stared at him strangely

"Bast? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Bast started battering his chest with her arms.

"Bastard, why do you say that like it's nothing?"

Ra looked at her weirdly, confusion written all over his face.

"Something weird about killing some fake dragons? come on now." he said shrugging

Ra was too hungry to pay attention to the announcement choosing to ignore it completely, approaching the food line, Ra was the perfect gentleman, allowing Bast to go first, accepting his polite gesture, Bast grabbed a tray and began to pile it high with fruits, vegetables, berries, even dragonmeat, she paid out a hefty 27 SPs for her meal when she reached the exchange console, grinning devilishly, she sashayed towards a nearby table, tossing a seductive look at him over her shoulder as she did so, and Ra felt a sleeping beast awaken inside him as his heart began to pound savagely against the cage made by his ribs as it fought to leap from his chest and soar to her hands, as if she was the only woman worthy of holding it.

Breathing deeply and releasing his breath continuously Ra was able to get himself under control, food almost gone from his mind he still managed to get food on his plate, paying 9 SPs for his food he joined her at the table.

They ate in silence until at least Bast was full.

"The announcement" she broke the silence

"hm?"

"go with me"

"go where?"

"Grand Sorcére"

"oh, sure"

"Try to show more excitement" she said rolling her eyes, annoyed

"mmph, woman, let me eat."

"fine" she said crossing her arms and leaning against him, pouting.

"hurry up"

"sure, sure"

Ra conceded and began shoveling his food into his mouth with much more gusto.

"Done"

"Okay let's go!"

Bast was on her feet in an instant but Ra was already out the door.

Bast was shocked, but she recovered quickly

"If you love me you'll let me win!" she called

and as she yelled those words she nearly fainted, panicking slightly as she ran, she hadn't meant to confess that way, soon she saw Ra ahead of her, overtaking him easily she was so embarrased she hid her face as she continued to run, and soon Ra was left far behind.
