5 Chapter 4

(Emily's POV)

"Ok class. Today we will be playing basketball." Mr. Bright announces.

Most of the class groans. Most of them being girls.

"Ok, so there will be four teams and I will assign you to one."

"Sally team 1, Tony team 2,.....Emily team 4, Reid team 1, Grayson team 2, Trevor team 3, Nathan team 4, Jace team 1, Chris team 2, Cooper Grey team 3, and Katie team 4. Alright everybody, get into your teams, and first, we will have team 1 and team 2 play against each other."

I head to where my team is and ugh, see that Katie is already there.

Katie is the mean girl of the school and for some reason, she has something against me, I have no idea what. All I know is we used to be friends and then one day she just stopped being friends with me.

I head over to sit with Trevor and Nathan when someone grabs my arm. I look up and see Cooper Grey.

"Do you need anything?" I ask.

"Maybe…" he smirks.

"Well, why the hell did you grab my arm?"

"Because I wanted to…"

"Well, then please let me go because I am going to sit with my friend and brother."

He is about to reply when Katie walks over.

"So what's up Emily?" She says and I have no idea why she is being fake nice to me.

"Stop acting like you want to be my friend, I know you don't like me." I retort and then walk away leaving them there.

I walk over to Nathan and Trevor looking gloomy.

"What's wrong sis? Who do I need to hurt?" Nathan gets angered.

"No one. It's just Katie being her usual annoying, bitchy self." I state.

"Besides, she came over only because Cooper Grey was there. The whole school knows she has a thing for him."

"Yeah, but does the whole school know he doesn't have a thing for her?" Trevor points out.

All three of us look over at Katie touching his arm and I see that he is looking over at Nathan, Trevor, and I. When he sees me, his eyes darken into a deep green that I could get lost in forever.

Wait, what the hell am I saying? He probably just sees me as his next prey and when he gets me, will just dump me for someone better.

"Whatever, I honestly don't care," I say, rolling my eyes.

"Uh-huh." Nathan and Trevor smirk in unison.

"Anyway, Nathan, have you talked to Chris about being his boyfriend?"

"No, I'm scared he will just reject me and then I will feel worse because I don't just like him, I'm pretty sure I love him but I don't know how he feels." Nathan sadly replies, looking downcast.

"I know how you feel Nathan." Trevor states.

"Earlier today, I might as well have just told Jace I like him and he straight out rejected me. Said some bullshit about not wanting to hurt me. Like his rejection caused the strongest pain." Trevor says, with a pained look on his face.

"Aww, guys I'm so sorry," I respond and hug them both.

"You both will find someone whether it be Chris and Jace, or other people."

"Watch out!!" Someone yells.

I turn around just to watch a basketball headed straight for Nathan. I don't stop it in time and then it hits his head. He falls and passes out.

Chris runs over and picks up Nathan and goes to take him to the nurse's office.
