13 Chapter Fourteen

Corey:

I tracked down the dance studio that Kat had mentioned and gathered up a group of warriors and trackers and set out to find Kai. We were a half a mile away and I could smell her, but I could also smell blood mixed in with her sent and it drove my wolf crazy. He was ready to kill who ever took her, he was on the verge of taking over but I couldn't let him until I knew she was safe.

We got to the dance studio and her sent was strong but so was a male's sent and it killed me knowing that another male had her. I barged in the door and saw pictures of her everywhere. Pictures of her and another guy, the same guy that was in the picture I found in the woods. I knew this must have been Christopher, Kai's ex-boyfriend. As I got further into the building, Stevie and I smelt a familiar sent, we turned around and saw his sister, Cammie.

Stevie went over to her and started going off on her. "Cammie?! What the fuck are you doing here? Don't even try saying it's because you want to help find Kenzie because we all know you are pissed that she is Corey's mate and you aren't. So tell me, why are you here?" I was shocked to see him go off on her. He hardly ever go's off on her but he had a point, Cammie was pissed that I chose my mate over her and yet she followed us to find Kai. She looked like she was about to break down and cry.

"I saw the picture of her and that guy, I felt drawn to him. Then Miss Callie Came into Corey's office and caught me starring at the photo and told me that, that's who had taken her and that you guys were out tracking them. So I thought I would follow to find out why I am so drown to him. Please don't be mad. I just need to know why I am drawn to him." I looked in her eyes and saw the same look Kat has when she talks about Stevie and that told me she's drawn to him because they are mates.

Just then, I heard a growl behind us and when we turned around I saw Kai and Christopher. I growled and went to charge at him but he pulled out a syringe full of a yellow liquid; walfsbane-deadly if injected into the blood stream. I stopped dead in my tracks and starred with wide eyes. "Christopher, please put the syringe down and let her go. You don't want to hurt her in anyway and you know it. Please, just put the syringe down." I begged. I never beg but this is my mate, my love, my other half. I can't let anything happen to her.

"Give me the blonde and I will give you McKenzie. Don't hurt the blonde in any way as she walks by you or I will hurt McKenzie. My mate for yours, your decision, choose wisely." I knew they were mates. I looked at Stevie and he looked just as shocked as I did, but he let Cammie walk by without delay. Just as Cammie passed me, Christopher let Kai go and she ran to me crying. All I could do was hold her and try to calm her down but I myself started to cry. I looked over to Cammie and Christopher and they were in a heated make out session. "There is still the matter of you kidnapping my mate/Luna. Why did you do it? Didn't you know or even feel that you had a mate out there?" The only response I got was a head nod. "Then why did you do it?"

"I did it because I thought she was my mate but I am sorry. I was never taught anything about mates just that they loved each other and I loved her, therefore I thought she was mine and that you stole her from me. I am truly sorry. Please forgive me?" He was telling the truth, it was in his eyes. I looked down at Kai as if to see what her response would be. What I didn't expect to see was her nodding her head as if to tell me to let him live, and that's exactly what she said to me.

"Let him live. Don't put Cammie through the pain you and I went through being apart, please? Yes, she deserves pain but not that kind of pain." She looked back at them, then to Stevie and told him, "He's not the one that touched Kat. That guy is dead my father made sure of it. I watched it happen, Stevie, Christopher never touched Kat." He nodded in response then turned to Christopher and Cammie.

"I swear to the Moon Goddess, if I find out that you hurt my sister the way you hurt my Luna, I will kill you myself. Do I make myself clear? And don't even think of coming near my Luna or my mate again." Christopher gulped and nodded in response to Stevie's threat/warning. I honestly don't blame him, I'd be scared too. I am just happy to have Kai back in my arms where she belongs and safe.

We started to leave the dance studio with Christopher and Cammie behind us when Kai whispered in my ear. "I'm sorry I ran. I shouldn't have, it's just everyone I love ends up getting hurt and leaving me. I don't know if I could handle it if you got hurt and left me as well." She had tears in her eyes and I knew she was talking about what happened to Kat and then her parents. I picked her up and carried her bridal style.

We were almost back to the pack house when I responded to her confession. "McKenzie Marie Wolfe, you're safe now and forever will be as long as you are alive. I'm not going anywhere. I love you and I'm so glad that the Moon Goddess made you my mate. Will you do me the honors of becoming my wife?"
