4 Chapter Five

I hear my name being called as I am walking away. "Kai, wait please. You don't understand."

"Oh, I understand perfectly! You'd rather kiss her than be with your mate. Who, may I remind you, you wouldn't have even met if her parents hadn't of died. Not to mention, I could easily call my aunt and tell her you are my mate and that you would rather be with the school slut. I could also call my ex Chris and have him come stay with me. It's your choice." Yep, that's right. I'm making him choose.

"I'm sorry, Kai. I'm just not ready for a mate and to settle down." Oh really? He is so done for. I simply pulled out my phone and called Aunt Callie.

"Aunt Callie, can I come home? I'm not feeling too well. ... Yes, I know it could be first day jitters, but I honestly think that I am just not ready to go back to school yet. I miss my old life, my friends, my parents, my school, even though I spent most of my time in the principles office but still. ... Could I at least have a friend come stay and help me get through all of this? I promise to help you and Luna Young around the house and to take care of the baby. Please Aunt Callie? ..... Okay I'll see if Steven can bring me home. ... Oh, him, he's busy and I'd rather not bother him. Thank you I'll see you soon." So I texted Kat seen how I'm sure she would be with Steve.

Me: hey, can you see if Steve will take me home?

Kat: he said yeah, but wants to know if I can come to?

Me: I don't see why not. We'll just tell your mom that you guys are worried about me seen how I have a history of harming myself.

Kat: meet us outside. We are on our way.

Kat hates when I bring that subject up. I don't blame her. One summer she came to Texas for a visit and found me in the barn with cuts all over. She refuses to go in any barn now.

Corey followed me outside and grabbed my arm. "Where do you think you are going? I don't think I gave you permission to leave, did I?" I yanked my arm away and backed up till I fell down the steps of the school.

"Kai! Are you okay? What happened, sweetie pie? Steve we should have been faster. We need to get her home, her head is bleeding. Kai, don't you dare tell me that you did this on purpose. I thought you were done with that shit!?" Kat was freaking out but again she had every reason to be. I could never be mad at her for freaking out on me.

"No, Kat, it was an accident. I swear I did not do this on purpose. I just backed up to far and slipped. Honest." She gave me a suspicious look then realized I had a look of horror and heartbreak on my face, she turned to Corey who had a look of regret on his face and she wondered what had happened before her and Steven had come out. Then she must have noticed the bruise shaped like a hand on my arm. To say she was furious was an understatement. "If it weren't for the fact that you are my alpha I would be kicking your ass right now. Do you know how hard it is for me to not worry about Kai when she's emotionally hurt or upset? You have no clue because you have never had to worry about anything in your life. I can't believe we are cousins. You ungrateful bastered! Touch her again and I will pray that your mate rejects your spoiled rotten ass. Got it?" Kat had found her voice. Everyone had come running to see who was going off and just stairing at Kat in shock until Steven spoke up.

"Kat, baby call your mom and tell her to have the doc waiting for us. We gotta go, Kai is losing a lot of blood." With that she called her mom as I am being lifted off the ground. Then we hear a low growl. It came from Corey.

"Get your hands off of her now Steve. You may be my friend but if you ever..."

"Corey, stop you did this. You chose her over me. You chose that thing over your mate. You did this all yourself. I never want to see you again. Kat? I want to go home." I say as I am crying and the whole school backs away from their alpha, knowing that he had chosen another over his mate, their luna. I kinda feel bad about it but then I remember that he doesn't want me.

"Kai, wait please listen. You don't understand. I am still young. I'm not ready to have a mate and become alpha. I want to live my life the way I chose. "

"You choose alright. I hope you enjoy your time with her. I also hope you like the way other guys cum feels on your dick. I just pray that one day you will realize what you lost and maybe I'll be around. Maybe you could get me back." After that everyone went back to class and Steve took off to the Alpha's house were Kat and I lived with her mom an her aunt and uncle (the luna and the alpha).

The Alpha himself carried me inside where the pack doctor was waiting for me. He carefully looked at the wund, he cleaned it up and put a bandage on it. He said that I would need lots of rest for it to heal on its own. Then he left and said to call him with any changes.

"Who did this to her?" Alpha Ryan boomed with his Alpha voice. You could tell he was beyond pissed. You see, he promised my parents, when they arranged for me to come here in the case of something happening to them, that nothing would ever happen to me and that I would be perfectly safe.

Steven was the one that spoke up first. "Corey, sir. They got into an argument and he grabbed her arm. When she pulled away she slipped off the steps to the school. I don't know what the argument was about, sir. Kat and I were on our way to bring Kai home when Kat saw her laying on the ground." Ryan was furious. I had never seen him like this before. He was always sweet and loyal. Took care of those around him, and now he looked like he wants to kill.

"Uncle Ryan? Kai and Corey..... they are mates but apparently Corey decided he was not ready to give up his life. He said he didn't want to be alpha yet and he didn't want a mate. Stating that he was not ready for any of that. You should also know that I went off on him. I don't know where it came from but I was loud and furious and I screamed at him in his face. I am sorry uncle. I was just so mad at him. Kai was bleeding and he was just standing there watching as blood poured out." Kat had started to cry, revealing what she had done to her cousin, the soon to be alpha.

"Katherine, my dear, I know where it came from. When you girls were little and Kai used to spend summers here, you would change. It was like a whole different you. You were louder, more energetic and you laughed at everything. You and Kai were inseparable. Kai being around gives you confidence. Confidence that was always in you, you just never knew it. And with Kai being back so is your confidence and your spunk." He hugged her tightly letting her know that he is not mad at all. He then turned to Steve and told him to call his son home now.

That's exactly what Steve did. He called his future Alpha and told him that he was needed at home.
