17 ABUELITA

The sun is rising... birds singing… trees dancing… I sit next to the old nice man, his smile reminds me of my dad. I missed my family so badly especially my dear grandma. The Uber driver drive me to work, he asks me about my day. He says his daughter is in the same age as me and she lived in another town. I ask him… do she visit you sometimes… and he says yes. Mmmm… I fucking missed my family.

Arrive at the office… all the people I knew were work in the field, I’m literally alone and I’m bored. All the employees doing their job, one of them was standing next to the coffee machine and flirting around. “Ugghhh…” I groan. A blonde white guy walks to my workplace and stares at me up and down. I look away and I pretend didn’t see his existence, “Hey Mamacita… I have never seen you before, wanna hang out sometimes?” He says.

He looking at me with his devil eyes and staring at my boobs. “Do I know you?” I say. He’s so fucking annoying… I have no idea why he’s here. His smirk as he looking at me makes me uncomfortable. “Don’t be shy, no one ever rejecting me like this” He says, he’s getting closer to me and try to touch my left thigh. I avoid him “What the hell, fuck off” I get up from my work chair as I raise my voice, all the employees looking at us.

He stares at me then left me with anger face. I sigh and lean to my seat… no one at the office knows that Lena and I had a romantic relationship, that’s so unprofessional. “Damn, It won’t happen if I’m not alone here” I inhale deeply to clear my mind. I leave my desk and walk to the office’s kitchen. I’m making a cup of coffee and lean at the kitchen cabinet. “Hey… what happened?” A cute pink hair Afro-American girl just talks to me as sipping her coffee.

“Mmm… I just having a bad day” I say. “I saw everything, the white guy tried to flirt on you, right...” She chuckles. “Ahhhh…” I sigh. The girl sips her coffee and stands next to me. “You know… why guys think they’re superior?” I say as sipping the coffee. “Umm… I have no idea, maybe because they got balls” She says. “What the fuckkkkk” I laugh and I choked to my own coffee.

Sipping the coffee, she’s staring at me and says “That's true right?”. “Ahhh… I don’t think so, I prefer kitty cats” I chuckle. She raising her brow and says “Mmm… interesting”. “It’s really nice to know you, I’m Maia btw” I shook her hand. “I’m Laurie” She smiles. “Alright see you later Laurie” I say, I leave her and walk to my workplace. It’s 11 AM, I haven’t received any messages from Lena.

Working in the field is hella busy and I know that but I kinda missed her. I sit in front of the computer and do my job. I’m writing articles and sipping my coffee. “I’m so bored here… shit” I reach my phone and stare at the phone screen. I got 5 missed calls from Rosa “Jeez…” I call Rosa. “What happened?” I say. “Hey lil sis, I got surprises for you” Rosa says excitedly. “What the hell, I thought something bad happened to you or little Ali, So what happened?” I say relief.

“Mommy just got here and Abuelita is here too” She says. “Are you kidding me?” I say, I'm about to jump because I'm so happy. “No, I’m serious” She says. “Holly shittttt... I can’t wait to go home and why they suddenly come here?” I say. “Alison and Abuelita's favorite girl...You” Rosa sighs. “Jeez, alright I gotta go” I say. “Okay see you soon” Rosa hangs up the phone. It’s 3 PM and it’s time to go home. I prepare myself and I book the Uber.

I wait for the Uber in front of the office alone. The Afro girl comes “Hey… you alone?” She says. “Yeap… I’m waiting for the Uber” I say. “Join me, I’ll drive you home” She says. “Ummm that’s fine, I’m good” I say. “Alright then” She says as she leaves me. I never had sexual tension towards other girls except Lena, but this girl is so attractive. She has brown eyes, with long wavy pink hair, exotic skin, and nice volume lips.

I’m shallow… I keep wondering why girls are so amazing and why I just realized that I like girls at this age, why not when I was at high school. There were a ton of hot lesbians in my high school. “Jeezzz Christ… Poor me” I groan. The Uber driver picks me up, I sit and focusing my eyes on the view, I got no text from Lena since this morning. Staring at my phone screen and hoping, I’m scrolling Twitter and move to Instagram then I see Lena’s insta story.

She was with the co-worker and had lunch with her. I’m so fucking jealous, I don’t know why… then I replied to her story and say “Looks fun”. “I’m home” I put my bag on the table and walk to the living room. “Oh my gosh…! “ My mom hugs me. “God…mom I missed you so much” I hug my mom tightly. “Abuelitaaaa” I run to my grandma and hug her. “I miss you Pequeña” My grandma says. “I miss you Abuelita… I’m so happy you guys here now” I say.

My mom and Rosa making dinner in the kitchen, little Ali was sleeping upstairs. My grandma and I talk a lot... I miss my family so much. I walk to the kitchen and left my grandma. “Mom… Where’s dad?” I’m asking my mom. “He was busy with business” My mom says as cutting the veggies. “He always busy” I say in disappointment. “So how’s work?” My mom says. “Ummm… All great” I answer her.

“How’s Ben?” My mom asks me about him. Rosa stares at me and raising her left brow… “Umm… I gotta go, Abuelita calls me” I say. I run full speed towards the living room and sit next to my grandma. “Jeez…” I say. “Are you okay?” My grandma says as she stares at me. “I’m good nana” I say as I heavily sigh. Lena just got here… she walks to the living room and yelling when she’s on her way “Baby I’m home” Lena says as she walks towards the living room.

Lena found me sitting with my grandma in the living room, I could clearly see her shocked face and the rosy cheeks. My mom heard that… and walk to the living room “Who’s that?” My mom says. Rosa comes after my mom “She lives here with us, no worries mom, she’s like family” Rosa protecting us. “Ahhh it’s good to see you… Welcome to the family” My mom hugs Lena. Lena and Rosa stares me. I have no idea what’s gonna happen if my mom found out that Lena and I were dating, she might kill me.
