2 Chapter 2

I could feel bars on my arms and legs. I felt someone calling out to me from a long distances " come, come, come soon…" I woke up, but I couldn't move, I'm locked on the bed.

"She's awake" said a female's voice.

I was aware,confused and terrified.

"Don't worry we are just getting you tested for your own safety, sweetie" said the female's voice.

This lady looked like she was only in her late 20s, judging from her badge, her name was Sarah.

"Yeah, but is there a reason why I am chained up so securely?"

Sarah thought for a moment, " You'll get to know later on, just be patient."

I spent a few more hours in the bed, while they took my blood sample and put me under black light scan.

"Done" Sarah said

"So what now" I said quite annoyed

"Now we will give you some information regarding what happened earlier and after that we will give you two choices and we'll see where it goes"

" Oh ok" I said, I was rather conflicted about how I was supposed to feel. Was I supposed to cry and have a breakdown or am I supposed to stay calm after everything I've just went through. I was so tired I didn't have the urge to cry, I was also just very hungry, my belly rumble loudly. Good, thing Sarah didn't hear it.

Now I am in a small white four walled room. There is a table in the middle and a mirror on another wall and the door we just came through. A man was placed in front of me. He was very muscular and should I say handsome?

"My name is Dennis, I am a lead unit commander and I already know your name so don't worry. So I know you are confused and you have questions, and that's why I'm here. I will be giving you top secret information that the normal civilization shouldn't have access to. So to start off let me just give you a brief history of our Organization. This organization has been around since the dawn of time. We've fought off several great calamity and saved several billions of humans and animals. We have nothing to do with the government, and our technologies are ahead our time and our equipment doesn't exist anywhere else here . The monster you've encounter before was from a different world. They can only come here by vertex or portal. They have intelligence depending on their level. They are mostly driven by their untamable hunger. They fed off animals and humans, they will cause huge calamity on the human civilization if they are left unchecked. It is your choice to join us and learn more about the monsters and be able to fight them off or have your memories erased and live a normal life."

It wasn't a hard choice for me " I wanna have my memory erased, I don't think fighting off monsters for the sake of human civilization is really my thing, but like you know I'm just a regular kid"

" It's fine" Dennis said " we'll set you free after asking you some more questions"

"Oh, ok, but how's that one man I carried doing?" I said after remembering him.

"He safe now, after you saved him, if he was near the monster any longer he would have expired" Dennis said grimly.

I was reassured now that the man was still alive.

"And the other man?" I said

" I'm sorry to say he didn't make it" said Dennis

I felt a heavy weight on my heart after hearing that, I even felt guilt, but it wasn't my fault though.

Dennis asked me some more questions and I had my memory erased, or that was what I thought.

I was indeed knocked out and I woke up inside my room, I remembered everything. Maybe the effects comes later I thought.

Later then would I find out, it just didn't work on me and fate was a funny thing.
