It took me quite a while before I regained my composure. Everything felt off...

Peering off the glossy charred walls, I could see my own faint reflection. Although my appearance hadn't changed, I still appeared to be the short, or what others may call, 'slightly stunted' redhead. I didn't quite feel normal. I hadn't changed much throughout my younger years and always been more or less the same, but now, everything felt different. I could feel an underlying difference within me.

Years of dodging most physical exercise still showed on my body with the lack of any real muscle, leaving the appearance of a frail girl, yet it failed to portray the strength I felt pumping through my veins.

As I looked into the eyes of my reflection, I noticed a faint glow in my eyes. The once dull green was now accompanied by a vibrant radiance.

While I had been distracted, a small spider slowly crawled down the wall. I failed to realize its appearance until it crossed paths with my reflection. Unbeknownst to me, a new reflex kicked in. Without thinking I hurtled my fist towards the small spider. Miss judging my own strength, my fist slammed into the stone. Although the cave wall stood its ground, it dented under the force, leaving the imprint of my knuckles.

To put it lightly... the spider had become a part of the wall.

'What the fuck just happened?!?'

It had been an instant reaction yet, why did that happen? It wasn't something I'd even consider doing? My normal reaction would've been to jump away, to flee, but never to fight.

My heart sunk as I thought to myself, 'What on earth is happening to me...'

As I sunk my head into my hands, I felt something far worse. A series of small black scales had sprouted from my hands.

I wanted to feel sad, yet sadness wouldn't come.

I tried to cry, yet no tears would form.

All I could feel was anger. All I could think was fury. All I could imagine was blood.

In my fury, the sound of broken chanting filled my ears.

The same thought which had brought me to this situation once again clouded my mind,

Consume...

--=o-o=--

Before I could even process the thought, I found myself bathed in blood. Sitting in the middle of the small goblin village I had spotted early, I slowly managed to regain control of myself. As I looked down I realized I had been in the midst of eating the leg of one of the goblins. Several dozen corpses laid in different levels of mutilation around the village. Clearly, this wasn't the first goblin

The humanity within me screamed, it detested every action I had taken. It was disgusted by the raw flesh.

Something else within me, relished.

It enjoyed it.

It wanted more
