1 Who Loves the Villain? 1

As Song Samin reached the final sentence of his favorite BL novel, tears on the brink fell from his sullen eyes.

"Skyle's heart, shattered with anguish, led him to succumb and peacefully pass away while lying on his bed," Song Samin read along the lines outwardly and a tear cascading down his cheek.

He turned his phone and stirred on his bed, lying face down on the sheets. He pressed his head into his pillow, sinking his entire face as he let out his sorrow over the death of his favorite character.

"Skyle, you poor thing!" Song Samin couldn't cry harder. He bawled his eyes out, his nose also running.

All the comments he read in the epilogue were the readers' satisfaction that the antihero had perished. He found too few users, so close to none, that sympathized with the villain's death.

Instinctively, in the initial chapters of the book, Song Samin found himself naturally drawn to the protagonists and disliked Skyle. However, as the story progressed, Song Samin found himself captivated by Skyle's character.

In the book, the main character's fiancé, Skyle, served as a knight under the 4th prince during a time of war. Skyle was forced to leave his fiancé and fight alongside the 4th prince. Together, they led their forces to victories, eventually conquering the neighboring land.

The king witnessed the 4th prince's successes, acknowledging his remarkable leadership. It didn't take long before the king bestowed the 4th prince the title of his heir.

Nobody ever thought their soldiers would make it out alive, and from that took six years to win. So, it was a total shocker when they came back all victorious.

Eager to reunite with his beloved, Skyle hastened to his fiancé's mansion upon his arrival in the country. However, what awaited him there was a cruel twist of fate.

When Skyle was not around, the protagonist felt really lonely and unsure about things. So, they ended up finding solace and comfort in the company of a new friend. They connected and understood each other, and this new companion helped fill the emptiness Skyle had left.

"The protagonist cheated... but why did Skyle have to endure the consequences?" Song Samin sighed, shaking their head in disbelief. As the story unfolded, Song Samin couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for Skyle, the unsuspecting victim of their fiancé's affair.

"Tsk! What the hell! I've never cried this hard for a villain!" Song Samin exclaimed, wiping away the tears.

He suddenly felt embarrassed, which made him sit on his bed. He took a moment to realize how heavy it was to lose another character from the novels he had read, but nothing would compare to the weight he felt over Skyle's death.

His unwavering loyalty and love had been shattered while the protagonist selfishly found someone new. This drove him obsessed and engage in actions he couldn't control toward the protagonists.

Thinking about it made his eyes teared up. "Aw, come on," he murmured. "How can you kill him, author? I thought Skyle would have a development like turning a new leaf or something."

Song Samin cursed his favorite author for his baby's death. "No fair. How could the author make him suffer this much? It wasn't like Skyle killed anyone. Arghhhh!"

Song Samin punched his pillow and tortured it to relieve his stress. He stopped for a minute and grabbed his smartphone to post a comment. "I'm seriously going to make an entire essay about this! Just you wait."

All feared the power of a devoted fan when it came to the death of their beloved character. Sometimes, the passion they felt could be a bit too... much for everyone to handle.

After losing his beloved character, Song Samin was compelled to write an essay. If there wasn't a limit on the number of characters, he would have gone on and on as he poured his heart out from his emotional attachment to the character.

"Curse you," he said before finally pushing the send button to submit his rant over his disappointment with Sykle's death.

And after his intense grief and crying, Song Samin felt the dryness of his throat. So, he got out of bed and decided to have some honey water.

"Wow, that really hit the spot," he said outwardly after he gulped the entire drink. "I feel so much better after taking out my anger." It lightened him a little, though it didn't completely erase the sadness he carried inside.

"Alright, time to balance things out by writing a book review for the author," he said, wanting to compensate for the negative comment he had posted.

Song Samin returned to his bed and fetched his smartphone, which was vibrating intensively. He went through to check, only to find the responses he received from the other readers.

One user replied, "Well... he continues to scheme, plotting to kill Emillian, then take his own so that they can be reincarnated together again in another life."

"I, I can't argue with that," Song Samin muttered.

While some agreed with him, most supported the protagonist, saying it wasn't wrong to love someone as the protagonist was in a difficult situation.

Just like what the comment said, "Skyle stopped sending letters. Still, Emillian waited for him for years. Then one morning, he received the handkerchief he gave to Skyle before he went off to war! Right on his doorstep! Imagine how it must have felt!"

Song Samin rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Wow, this other guy's stupid. My intention went over this guy's head."

It was true that he felt the betrayal was a complete letdown, but Song Samin voiced his bitterness toward the author, making Skyle suffer when he was also a victim. However, when Song Samin expressed his anger at losing his favorite character, he was met with hatred from others.

He scrolled down to read other comments and found one that made his heart leap a second. It was actually from the author.

At first, Song Samin refused to read it since he was afraid that his words could have offended the author. But it didn't end with what he feared; it was the opposite.

"Thank you for your fondness for my baby Skyle, user02434. In your comment, you ask who could love the villain, right? I think you can do it if it's you," commented the author.

And at that moment, his smartphone flashed him with the brightest light and blinded his eyes. He squinted them in pain and grimaced in discomfort. He became suspiciously dizzy as stars circled his head by the unexpected occurrence.
