Chapter 17

— Momonga —

"Are we ready to move out?" Kakuei asked as he looked upon most of the guild members lined up within the throne room. Momonga stood close beside him, while Touch Me and Ulbert stood just before them.

"We are." Ulbert nodded.

"I'm not so sure this is a good idea." Touch Me crossed his arms and sent a frowning emoji.

"Well, let's pray it is." Kakuei chuckled, gesturing to Momonga to follow him as he walked up and down the ranks of the guild members. "My friends! It is time; we're moving out!"

"RAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Kakuei's body teleported, and shortly after, Momonga and about half of the guild disappeared from the throne room and appeared at the entrance of Nazarick. Immediately, they all began marching out of the tomb. As Momonga stared back at her boyfriend's character, she couldn't help but pray he was right about this.

The last few weeks have been very difficult. They raided guild base after guild base to stockpile world items, and thanks to that effort, they managed to get a good pile of valuable items.

Of course, the good came with the bad. Seraphim had used the attacks of Hell's Paradise as fuel for other guilds to ally and unite with them, which made everything much bigger. Now, Hell's Paradise wasn't just facing the might of Seraphim and Asgard but also many different guilds, weak and strong alike.

"You all know the plan." Kakuei turned around and looked at the guild.

"We'll wait for your signal." Touch Me nodded, although it was clear by his tone that he wasn't too proud of what they were about to do.

"Good, Momonga, you're in charge." Kakuei sent a grinning emoji before turning around and slashing the air with Gram and using the Dimension Gap skill. In an instant, a tear in space opened up, and Kakuei jumped in alone, leaving the tear to close back up.

Momonga heard whispers from the guild members. Their whispers varied in subject, but the majority sang the same tune.

Everyone wondered if Kakuei would genuinely be able to turn the tide of this fight they were about to enter. The biggest fight of their lives!

Weeks upon weeks had been spent attacking smaller guilds to prepare for this battle, and things were going exactly how they planned. Seraphim, Slaine, the rest of the Asgard guilds, and many other smaller guilds were marching toward Nazarick with the biggest raid party the game had ever seen.

Which is why the time to attack was now!

"At ease, friends." Momonga turned around and raised her bony hands. "Have faith in our Guild Leader!" The guild quieted down, and all eyes were on Momonga as she continued. "The largest raid party Yggdrasil has ever seen is near our doorstep, and if we want this plan to succeed, we will defend Nazarick until Kakuei gives the signal. Am I clear?!"

"RAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" The Guild shouted, gripping their weapons and sending screaming emojis.

"Then, let's carve our names in the books of legends and ascend to true Supremacy!"

— AngelBright —

"Prepare for battle!"

""Yes, sir!"" The army of players shouted back, some more eagerly than others. Behind him stood 10,000 beings, some of them players and many of them NPCs. It was a huge invasion force that had never been seen before in gaming, much less Yggdrasil.

AngelBright stared down at the swampy lands they were about to enter to conquer Nazarick. In all his time as Seraphim's guild leader, never once had he ever commanded a large force— or attacked an enemy this powerful.

Hell's Paradise was the strongest guild in the game, and even he knew it. With their guild leader being a World Enemy, a single player wouldn't stand a chance against KakueiSolos unless they were also a World Enemy.

Asgard had swallowed their pride and tried to recruit the other members of the Lords of the Seven Sins, but those beasts had turned them down, saying they didn't want to anger the strongest guild in the game-

Fools, they would be next once this raid was finished, and Nazarick was nothing more than a collapsed tomb.

As they made their way to the entrance of the swamp, they watched as skeletons rose out of the ground, each one not even worth looking at, being level 60 max.

With their power, a level 60 was nothing, especially with their Nullification III skill, accessible to all players that maxed level 100.

AngelBright gestured, and a few of his guild members stepped forward and made short work of the boney bastards before they pushed forward once more.

The swamp slowed them down, and truth is told, AngelBright didn't think much of the tomb itself; no, he believed if they could get through this swamp that casually gave them the slowness debuff, then they'd have a much easier time in the tomb.

This is why it was so surprising when the raiding party hadn't experienced a single attack until they were at the walls of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, and even then, it seemed like nobody was willing to attack them.

They blasted through the wall and made their way over to the entrance before blasting it open as well. They walked in cautiously and were surprised to see no one around. It was quiet, too quiet.

Something was up…

"What do you make of this?" GoldenLight, the former Leader of Seraphim and AngelBright's right-hand man, asked. "Lure us in and attack us if I had to assume, but we have numbers; we'll push forward."

AngelBright was no fool; he knew this was a trap, but it didn't matter if they sent all the members of Nazarick to the raiding party all at once; Asgard would succeed, and Hell's Paradise, along with their dirty tomb, would fall today.

That fact was soon to be written in Yggdrasil's history.

They walked through the dark and cold tunnel of the first floor, with everyone prepared to attack at a moment's notice.

*SPRING*

They had no idea where the noise came from, but they immediately knew it was some sort of trap being triggered. Most of the players pushed backward to get away from the quick and vast opening of the ground, but unfortunately, not everyone was sentient and could think for themselves.

The ground opened, and some NPCs fell into the spikes, where they suffered massive damage or outright death.

"Advance and watch your step; be ready to push backward in case of another trap!" AngelBright ordered, getting various answers from the raiders behind him.

"Fools." They heard something in front of them, and they all went on guard instantly.

A projection appeared before them, almost an ethereal image of a very easy-to-recognize player.

Ulbert Alain Odle.

"You merciless beast, today is the day your guild falls!" GoldenLight shouted and pointed his blade at Ulbert.

"It's quite funny that you believe that." The Goat Demon laughed smugly with a tint of evil mixed in.

"You laugh in the face of your doom. Are you mad?!" AngelBright asked this time, confused by how smug this demon was, even while staring down the massive invasion force, even if it was just a projection, to look upon the ten thousand raiders and laugh… wasn't what any of them expected.

"Doom? Whose?" Ulbert Alain Odle asked with what sounded to be genuine curiosity. "Let me tell you this, Intruders: You have invaded Nazarick, and now you shall reap the reward of your bravery and foolishness." A white ethereal line appeared at Ulbert Alain Odle's feet. "Cross this line, and I promise you will not leave this place."

"You really are smug. Does the sin of pride radiate strongly within you?" GoldenLight laughed, which also prompted many of the raiding players to laugh.

"Well, it's hard not to be smug when we're about to crush two birds with one stone?"

"Oh, and what do you mean by that?" GoldenLight asked in amusement. AngelBright, however, felt differently; he didn't like Ulbert's confidence or his voice's smugness.

"Well… HAHAHAHA!" Ulbert laughed, unable to get the words out of his mouth.

"Speak, Demon!" GoldenLight demanded.

"HAHA! We get to take out a bunch of filth and take Asgard in one day!"

A cold chill went down AngelBright's spine.

"W-What?!"

"As we speak, our guild leader is at the almighty Seraphim Guild Base; hell, he's likely already conquered it! HAHA!"

"..."

Those words caused everyone to go silent. A million things were going through AngelBright's mind, and none of them were good. The confidence in Ulbert's tone… there was no way he was bluffing.

KakueiSolos… was laying a siege on their base!

"GoldenLight, take the rear flank and head back to Asgard, now!" AngelBright shouted before rushing forward and destroying Ulbert's projection. "The rest of you, we're taking this tomb, double time; pick up the pace!"

""Right!""

— Kakuei —

I entered through the slash I made and immediately started running toward the Seraphim guild base. They should be attacking us right now, and if they were smart, they must have left some players behind and a few NPCs.

Something I can easily handle!

Truly, our guild is full of geniuses! What better time to attack than when they're attacking you?

I know Nazarick is a powerful fortress, and I'm certain that the others and our beloved NPCs can defend our home from that huge raid party, especially after I take Seraphim. Some of them will definitely come running back home to salvage as much as I can, and once that happens, it's easy pickings.

Divide and Conquer. A tale as old as time.

I stopped atop a hill and looked down at the large town below me. I took a moment to marvel at it. After all, I hadn't actually gotten a chance to explore Asgard before; the most I had ever done while here was raid with Momonga when we were looking for World Items, and I had to admit… Asgard was beautiful.

… Haha, I'm gonna burn this fucker to the ground,

My eyes locked onto their massive fortress of a guild base, and I bolted toward it. I didn't have time to waste; I needed to make some noise so that the raiding party would be forced to send some reinforcements back to Asgard to aid in beating me, and then, and only then, would the real fun begin!

I reached the entrance and pulled out both World Savior and Gram. I paused to start the activation of my buffs.

'Greater Speed Enhancement,' 'Greater Sharpness Enhancement,' 'Greater Light Resistance'

With those three enhancements, I was good to make an entrance. I pulled back my weapons and activated World Break-

*BOOM*

The wall collapsed in a massive explosion, and I hopped in, quickly moving to the entrance and slashing at it as well. A few hits were all it took before the entrance was torn down, and I was inside. Immediately, a trap was sprung, and arrows of light were sent my way, but my original speed, plus the enhancement, made it so that light would never hit me in a million years.

I launched myself down the hallway and grinned at the first person I saw.

[WhisperDream (Lvl.100]

[Guild - Seraphim (Rank: Member)]

[Race - Archangel]

The white-winged woman raised her blade in an attempt to intercept me.

'Activate, Sin of Lust, Eyes of the Deceiver!'

Her body froze, and I speed-blitzed her and slashed her with an insanely fast spin attack, in an instant, her body dropped and turned into light.

I internally grinned at how nice and easy that was. My Sin abilities were broken. Eyes of the Deceiver allowed me to paralyze anyone I look at for two seconds, it can be used on multiple people, but the condition is that they must also be looking at me, but they don't need to be making eye contact with me.

And honestly, I'd say it's my least broken Sin skill.

I could already tell more people were coming, so I decided it was time to activate another one of my World Enemy/Sin skills and finally start this attack with a bang!

'Activate, Sin of Lust, Parallel Existences!'

From my body split two others. I looked at them and pointed at myself. "Stand guard."

They both stood at attention and waited as our enemies ran at us; immediately one blasted magic at us, but we dodged it with ease.

The Parallel Existences ran forward, using their bodies as meat shields and running through the five opponents' attacks. They didn't have my weapons, but that was fine; they were using Mythical weapons I found a long time ago and had no use for.

The enemy tank stepped forward, and one of my Parallel existences clashed his blade against his shield while the other existence dodged the attacks of the others and ran straight for the mage, plunging his blade into the mage and slashing over and over until they dropped dead.

Unfortunately, the existence was killed seconds later by the combined efforts of the Seraphim guild members, but the other one was still fighting the tank. I recalled that one and grinned as my stats returned to normal.

Sin of Lust, Parallel Existences allows me to create two copies of myself, which are basically level 100s. This skill removes my passive 3x buff as a World Enemy and divides it amongst my created existences.

Killing one of my existences does no damage to me whatsoever when I recall them, and the same applies to killing both. and as the Seraphim guild members look at me, I can tell they just came to that realization as well.

Still, I must give respect where respect is due; they aren't running away or calling for reinforcements right now; in fact, they're standing on guard, ready for any move I may throw at them.

"Seraphim, you have dared to make an enemy of Hell's Paradise; make no mistake, this is war, and death is not guaranteed, but instead a mercy. You will all learn today how actions inevitably have consequences!"

I rushed forward, all while internally grinning like a madman. It was going to be a massacre, and I couldn't wait to have my hands on all their precious World Items!

My time in the New World was improving by the day!
