14 Confusion

Aldrin understood where his mate was coming from, after all, if it was him in her shoes. He would be confused as fuck too. However, he couldn't tell him that he was a wolf and this is what happens when they are at a certain age.

He was not sure but he had a hunch that his mate would lose the confidence she little had in her if he said because of fate. Would he have dated her if they were not mates, the answer is no. Many may say he was an asshole or jerk but this is an honest answer. For him dating any woman who was not his mate just felt wrong, he didn't think it was right. It was cheating, to their kind this was a very big betrayal.

In all honesty why tangle yourself in a relationship when you know you will meet a mate? Yes, it was not guaranteed that all will have this privilege but there was a difference between a mateless wolf and one with a mate. You just knew. So, why was it difficult to wait for the one meant for you?

Aldrin knew that for humans this was different as they didn't have the privilege to know who was truly their soulmate and you could never really blame them if they have been in a relationship before. However, if he was mated to a wolf and that wolf had given herself to someone else before him, he would reject them in a heartbeat. However this came with a different scenario as well, we all know there are cruel people out there. If his mate lost her innocence because of some brute man, he would hunt the rapist and kill the asshole and he would pamper his mate with love and tenderness.

"Lea, we don't plan to fall for a person. It happens naturally. You just wake the next day and you realise there is something attractive about this person and you need to learn more about them. You get curious about them and ask yourself many times, how come I didn't realise this sooner. Love sometimes comes at the least time you expected it." he answered.

"I cannot tell why now at the moment. I am sure it might be different for everyone else, it is in my family," he smiled at her.

"You see, we don't date anyone before the age of 18 from my family. Many people do, but the Blackwood family doesn't. This is a tradition and I support it one hundred per cent," Lea looked at him confused.

"What about those rumours about you and the girls?" she asked him. He chuckled, at this question.

Goddamnit, he should have stopped those fake news. He was so sure his mate would be a wolf and she would know he is still pure by just a sniff of his scent. However, now Lea is a human and does not have that privilege.

This was one more test for him, it is a lesson learned a hard way. He must never take things lightly.

"I swear those are lies and fake news Lea. I never dated those girls, they just wished it were true," he declared.

"I will trust you this once if I find out it's a lie. I swear Al, I will not let it slide," she said with a bit of stern in her voice.

Somehow she was very jealous of those so-called girls in a relationship with him. Lea didn't like to hear any person was once with Aldrin. She was certain Julia wanted Aldrin because she has seen her many times lingering around him.

When Aldrin heard her thoughts, he suddenly remembered he has not dealt with that she-wolf, who dared to bully his mates and humans. He will deal with her when he gets back to the pack.

"So, will you give me a chance for a second date?" he asked.

"Fine, message me the details. Now I must go. I am sure my mom is already throwing some tantrums at home," she stated.

Her mother sometimes was very nagging, but she understood where she is coming from. Every parent wants the best for their children and it was their responsibility to ensure they mess around. Her mother always reminded Lea, that if she had a better childhood and taken studies seriously she could have been very successful right now. However, she gave in to her situation then and did not try to make it better but succumbed to it, only layer in life did she realise how of a huge mistake she made. So, she never wanted her daughter to have a low-grade job. She wanted her daughter to live a better life.

"Ok, I understand. I'll call you later," he whispered in her ear which made Lea blush with shyness.

Lea couldn't take it anymore she ran away from Aldrin otherwise she was going to die in his teases. She hailed a taxi home and reminisced on their date on the way. She found herself grinning like a fool. She couldn't help herself. Aldrin was really sweet to her today, though she was still a little confused she still felt like it was okay to trust him.

She was going to give him this chance and he better not blow it.

Julia with her minions Emilia and Jackie were in her room at home talking about Lea and Aldrin's mating.

"Do you think he made a mistake and sniffed someone else's scent on her?" asked Emilia. Jackie looked at her as if she has not seen some as stupid as her in her life.

"Are you stupid or what? He is a prince and future king. How can he make such a mistake? They are royalty and have the strongest senses, how can he make a mistake like that? Let's just accept the truth. She will be our queen in 2 months," said Jackie.

"SHUT UP," growled out Julia, "I am going to be the queen and Aldrin is mine no one else can have him. Do you hear me? He is mine," she said with anger and hostility in her voice. The look she has her friends was savage and laced with madness.

"How can you have designs for the crown and guts to claim the prince Julia? I understand you like him but we all knew he is not your mate and we all know he will never mate with anyone else but his fated mate," Jackie stated.

"Jackie is right. I understand you like Prince Aldrin but claiming him and the crown is a crime, you better make sure no one hears you say that otherwise, you will be in trouble," Emilia said whilst looking at her with caution.

"You have to accept that he is mated with Lea and he will nev..." she didn't finish the sentence when she was slapped by Julia.

The slap was filled with aggression and hostility, the was crack that resounded in the room from her cheekbone breaking. She was quickly swollen. The girls were shocked by Julia's act.

"How dare you utter that bitch's name in my house?" she screamed "I hate and I will make sure she will never be with Aldrin, over my dead body," she said with madness written in her eyes.

The girls shivered when they saw the murderous intent in her eyes, the hostility and cruelty she just showed right now.
