8 Clumsy Brother

"At first when Aiden had told me she was the daughter of Sir Hans. I thought I had heard wrong. But, I guess I have not," I chuckle.

David thinks for awhile. Once made his decision he replies, "Come here again tomorrow. I will have all the information ready."

"I am afraid I can not. Tomorrow I will be playing matchmaking."

"Matchmaking, you say?"

I smile with a hidden motive. Putting my index finger up close to my lips. "It's a secret." I wink.

"You and your secrets."

"Should I not say that to you?"

"Fine. You win. I can not make you any reservation the next couple of days. How about next week?"

"It is good. I am not in a hurry. By the way. Do you know where my brother is?"

"Where else would that little scum be? He's in the gambling room. You might want to ask him what he did yesterday. That little prick! I will get him back someday!"

I nervously nod.

"Please do be sure to teach him a lesson."

The gambling room was was no less than the bar room which decorated with precious gold. Though, it did lack some more jewels compared to some of the other rooms.

This was surely the most packed area of the building. The bids could go as high as a couple billion dollars and the average bidding was no less than a million. Maybe it has went even higher the couple of years since I have not been here.

I always have thought gambling to be dull. The amount of money never staggered me. But, sometimes in a blue moon I took part in it. One could never know when the gods would shower them with luck.

"Hassan." My finger's grasped his left ear. "You have caused me quite a trouble today."

He widens his eyes when my eyes meets his.

"Sister, oh what a pleasure to see you. Thank you for the trouble."

I shake my head.

"What should I do with you."

He stays silent grinning at me.

"Tomorrow at exactly twelve in the morning. I need you to escort someone in the tea room for me."

"Can one of your guards not do it for you? You have many in command. Then why do you ask me to do it for you," he asks suspiciously.

"The person is an important figure. We need to treat them with respect. So, I am sending you to reassure them that they are important to us."

"Can you not go then? What about brother-in-law?"

"Do not try to question me, Hassan. You will be the one escorting and that's final. I will be taking my leave now and remember. If you are even a second late. I shall make you clean every inch of the palace till morning.

"You are unfair, sister." He sighs loudly. "What sin have I done to receive this? If this is what you want. I will be there at exactly twelve in the morning. Do not worry."

"I trust you to keep your promise."

"When have I ever broken one?"

"How laughable. Your promise to father. How you would choose a lady for yourself. One with dignity and respect."

"That was different!" He retorts. "You are not innocent as well. You used to go out at night. Disguising yourself as a man! I have only followed in your lead."

"How dare you, do you know who you are arguing with little boy?"

"Little boy?!"

"Enough of that, what did you do to David?"

"Heh," he scratches his head. "I guess I just broke a little meaningful piece that he absolutely cherished."

"The one he would used to clean every second?"

"Well...I mean you see. It may have been that."

I shake my head at him. His clumsiness would always get him in trouble. Even I'm surprised how father has not figured out yet.

"You are lucky that you are alive."

"Sister, do not jinx it."
