CHAPTER 22

The first nurse and the second doctor put her on the stretcher and rushed out of the living room others too followed them and closed the door. The driver supported them to put her inside the ambulance and they entered with her started carrying out some treatment when the driver entered into the ambulance and drove out of the house and left the gate wide opened. As they left that was when the driver entered met the gate opened and drove in thinking of what could had happened, packed at the car park and got down ran inside the living room started shouting but didn't heard anybody to reply him, left the house sat down on the floor at the corridor looking so worried when he thought may be the madam went out and was unable to close the gate that he should wait for some hours before calling Adam to confirm so he sat down properly at the corridor rest his back at the wall.

The ambulance's driver drove inside the hospital with high speeds and packed, they brought her out with the stretcher and rushing her inside, she had opened her eye just looking and she got weak. Rushed her inside the emergency room put her on the bed and they continued with the treatment, other nurses and doctors in the emergency room joined them.

Adam's father had cancelled all the appointments that he had in Ghana and other countries too and came down to Nigeria, he had called his pilot as he was calling the doctor and him too had left the hotel so now he had arrived to Nigeria took cab straight to the hospital, he had been distrusted didn't even had it in mind to call the driver to come and picked him what he was after was how to get to the hospital.

Adam and his friend Sina came down to the compound at Sina's house laughing and taking, Adam had ready to go back home so Sina escorted him out. As he was laughing he looked inside the car and saw his phone on the seat at the passenger side.

"Oh! My God!, see the phone that I am looking for thought that I left it at home!"

"And I told you to come and check it inside the car said that it was in the house that you left it when you and your stepmother were fighting"

"Walahi! I thought that it's at home!" Opened the door, took the phone on the seat and on it.

"Oh! My God! Daddy had called me thirty-two times!"

"You hope no problem? Thirty-two times!"

"I think so because for him to call for thirty-two times! There must be problem!" He had got worried.

"May be you should call him back!" Adam started dialing his father's mobile number.

"He is not picking!, what could have happened!"

"Calm down! Okay, try it again"

Adam's father had arrived to the hospital ran to the emergency room straight wanted to enter when the doctor saw him and came out, his phone was still ringing but he didn't knew and his hand mistakenly picked it as he was doing that he felt disturbed.

"Doctor! Please how is my wife!"

"Thank God you are here sir!" The doctor said.

"How is she? Talk to me!"

"She is fine, just come to my office first!" The doctor left the place and him too ran after him.

Adam hang up and faced his friend Sina.

"He picked it but talking to a doctor that how is my wife!" Said with bewildering.

"How is his wife! He has a wife in Ghana?"

"No!, I think he has arrived to Nigeria because the voice of the doctor sound like our family's doctor's voice"

"We don't have time to waste!, let go to that hospital"

"Okay! Okay!!" Going to the driver side.

"Calm down! There won't be problem" entered into the car. "I prayed! I prayed!!" Him too entered, the gate man opened the gate and drove out like mad man.

"Doctor! How is she? We have entered your office now!" Said with loud voice and standing.

"She will be fine!, before we would entered she had fainted but now she has woke up and has been getting fine!"

"Ah! Ah!! Thank God!" Felt realized.

"But one thing is that---" said with lower voice.

"What is it? There is problem?"

"She can't give birth to the child by herself because of all the stressed she had passed through"

"Anything you can do, do it! No time!"

"They have been carrying out operation, so give us some hours just sit down here Sir!"

"Good! Thank you very much doctor!"

"You are welcome Sir!" He left the office, sound of the door opened and closed. Adam's father sat down on the chair at a corner and started praying.

Adam and his friend drove inside the hospital, packed and ran out, running to the doctor's office straight away. Knocking at the door as they got there.

"Who is there? Come in the door is open!" Adam's father said and the door opened and closed, Adam and Sina ran in and breathing heavily.

"Good evening sir!" Sina greeted.

"Daddy! What happened? Why are you in Nigeria?"

"Evening Sina!, you are asking me what happened and why I am in Nigeria for someone to travel and don't have rest of mind, firstly why didn't you pick the calls?"

"I forgot it inside the car and thought that I left it at home, it was when I am going home that I saw it inside the car and also saw your missed calls. I called you back, you picked it but you are just talking to the doctor 'that how is my wife" explained.

"It's true Sir!, so that is why we ran to the hospital to check what happened since that the voice of the doctor is the same thing with your family's doctor voice so we drove straight here!" Sina explained too.

"So Daddy! What happened?" Looked at Sina.

"You are still asking me right!, Okay which condition did you left your stepmother at home!"

"I don't left her in any condition now!"

"You left her in labour pain!" Said with anger.

"Oh! Oh!! I don't know it's true!" Said with lower voice.

"Someone that is pregnant!, you don't know that one day she will give birth and her that has heavy like that"

"I know that her day at be at a corner but this one Walahi! I thought she is pretending"

"She is pretending that she want to give birth! Because I don't get you at all!" Said with anger.

"No Dad!, this morning two of us were fighting and suddenly she started shouting that is what made me to think that she is pretending, very sorry Dad!"

"Sorry for yourself!, did you know all the stressed she passed through when I called you that you didn't picked I forced to call the doctor, drove there with ambulance when they got there the gate was locked they have to go and looked for a welder to break the padlock before they could entered and her was in the house suffering in pain!" Explained to them.

"Ah! This is so serious!" Adam shouted.

"Sir! I am sorry on behalf of Adam, she will be fine!"

"Just be praying!, I don't where you will face many be North or South or West or East and start praying!" Said in one of the Nigeria language called Yoruba.

"Okay! Dad, where is she?"

"She is in the ward, doing operation for her. She can't give birth on her because of the stress she had passed through" door opened and closed, the doctor entered.

"Welcome! How is the operation goes!"

"The operation is successful!, she is alife!" Said with smile and Adam's father stood up.

"Wow! Wow!! Thank you God and you too doctor!"

"She gave birth to twins girls!"

"Thank God! Thank you Allah!" Hug the doctor.

"I will see soon Sir!" The doctor said.

"You hope she is fine very well?" The doctor smiled.

"Yes Sir! She is fine, all what she need is rest!"

"Okay!, can we see her now?"

"No! She need rest very well, may be tomorrow"

"Okay!, it will take her how many days to be in the hospital now with this operation!"

"We have advance Sir!, just three days like normal birth not more than that!"

"Okay! Thank you very much doctor, very happy!"

"You are welcome Sir!" He left and door closed.

"Oh! Thank God I safe!" Adam said with smile.

"It's God that safe you!" Sat down back with smile.

"My mind have gone!" All of them laughed, him and Sina too sat down on different chair when Adam's phone started ringing, it was the driver.

"Hello! Adam, when I got home I met the gate opened widely and when I entered the living room couldn't find Madam thought may be she went out but for past more than three hours I don't see anybody that is why I called to ask of where you are!"

"She is in the hospital just give birth now, may be it was the doctor that left the gate wide opened!"

"Wow! She has gave birth! Thank God, I should come over to the hospital?"

"The driver said that he should come down to the hospital?" Asking his father.

"No! He should stay at home can't leave the house without nobody at home now and if we need to take anything at home we could call him"

"Father! Said don't worry, you too heard everything now". " Boss! Has came back from travel? "

"Yes! Because of what happened!"

"Okay! My regard to Madam!"

"I will but now she is sleeping!"

"Okay!" Adam hang up and put the phone on the table.
