9 Chapter 8: Show Them What We've Got!

The first was the freak quick.

Yes. The one when orange hair volleyball kid jumps with his eyes closed and the emo setter boy sets the ball to orange hair boy's hand.

It was impressive, but it seems like Akashi has already found the flaw to this technique.

The others, mainly the basketball geeks, were dumbfounded.

Well, they are basketball geeks after all.

Akatsuki studies the structure of their bodies.

---

Here are the ratings of Aomine:

Muscle Strength: 8/10

Muscle Power: 9/10, 10/10 on the legs.

Muscle Endurance: 9/10

Muscle Reaction: 8/10, during extreme concentration, can be 10/10

Knowledge: not high, 4/10

Lungs, or Cardiovascular Strain: 2/10, can raise to 3/10 if in extreme circumstances of a long term game. (This one is if it's 0, it means they have good oxygen intake. 10 means they are hyperventilating.

Muscle Memory: 10/10, deduced from the hands.

---

Kagami is similar, Kise is higher in knowledge, Midorima is lower in muscle power, Akashi is in the range of 9s and 10s, expected from Akakage's boyfriend.

Kuroko is... Sad.

The knowledge is 6/10, wait...

Everything's around 5s and 6s.

Only the Muscle Memory, Power, Strength and Endurance on the arms are 8/10.

Akatsuki find that suspicious.

His weak body gives off little presence than the others.

So is that how he...

Akatsuki can notice Kuroko because... Well... Assassins need to know their surroundings and have awareness of the people around.

Akakage started basketball as his first sport.

Wait. Scratch that. Akakage's first sport is knives, wires, swordsmanship and martial arts.

Then it's basketball.

Akatsuki's first sport is knives, martial arts and wires.

She is not a swords person.

Her second sport is volleyball.

Yeah. Right now Volleyball.

Akatsuki, being subbed on, turns into a creepiest mode ever.

The pressure released by Akatsuki in the form of bloodlust is the worst.

Akatsuki's body is made out of the same material as Akakage.

A crystal lifeform that can be possessed by a soul of a dead body as a host and gain the abilities the body has.

That's why she can't die.

That's why her abilities are so similar to Akakage's.

That's why, in this game, she feels a passion that she hadn't felt for a long time.

The feeling of competing, of winning something, of confidence, filling up her heart.

She turned that into bloodlust.

To win. To succeed. To fight to the end.

To keep the ball up for as long as possible on her side, and to make the ball fall to the ground as quick as possible for the opponents' side.

And so, she gave it her all.

The 'no-chance' chance ball, accurate receives to the setter, predictions of spikes and movements of players.

One step at a time.

All the way to success.

25:0.

Leaving no chance for the opposition to score.

"Akatsuki's different." Daichi says.

"Yeah." Nishinoya says.

"She's actually into this game." Sugawara says.

"Wow. That's rare." Tsukishima exclaims with sarcasm.

Akashi looks at the short girl with his complete Emperor Eye.

He can see the future.

Akatsuki will win.

Unlike when he faces Akakage, Akatsuki strictly follows every visual he sees, like she knows.

Like she is able to see the future, just like him.

But there's no way she has the Emperor Eye. Akashi thought.

"But she calculated the angles, movements, positions all by herself on the spot, Akashi-san. Quite amazing, am I right?" Akakage suddenly says, scaring the hell out of the GOM.

"Quite. You are still as unpredictable as ever, Akakage." Akashi plainly states. He has gotten used to unexpected things, for example Kuroko and Akakage.

"You're welcome."

As expected from Akashi's boyfriend. The GOM thought.

"Akatsuki is really good at calculating and planning. She basically crafts every step she takes to lower her energy level spent in each round to keep her stamina going, and also the angle and speed of the ball. That's why she is able to land-"

"BANG!"

Asahi spikes straight into Akatsuki's receiving position. The ball flew back to the opposite side court.

"Mine!" Nishinoya shouts and extends his arms and bends his knees to the receive position, except...

The ball hits Nishinoya's arms gently and drops, leaving a shocked Nishinoya.

"-A 'no-chance' chance ball. The receiving end has 0% chance of receiving the ball or keep the ball in the air."

"AMAZING!" Hinata jumps up and down, "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?"

"I... I thought I received the ball correctly." Nishinoya says.

"To be precise, the balls spinning speed slowed down as you are into the receiving position. that's why it became gentle when a millisecond ago it looks like it has raging force. Do you guys know now how powerful she is when she goes full on?" Akakage asks.
