5 Chapter 4: Karasuno High School And Depressing Crows

Main Objective: To help Karasuno High School win The Spring Tournament.

Akatsuki stares at her phone blankly.

How am I supposed to 'help'?

What is 'help' anyway?

Akatsuki looks up her mental dictionary.

The word 'help' is not found in this dictionary, please check if you have spelt it correctly.

Then she looks up the real dictionary.

////////

'Help

verb

verb: help; 3rd person present: helps; past tense: helped; past participle: helped; gerund or present participle: helping

1. Make it easier or possible for (someone) to do something by offering them one's services or resources.

"they helped her with domestic chores"'

////////

Honestly, this is nuts, I can't 'help' them.

I don't want to 'do something by offering them one's services or resources' or whatever that means.

What if they ended up bullying me again?

Separate Objective: To infiltrate into Class 1-1 in Karasuno High School.

I don't care.

I don't f**king care.

Akatsuki gets out of bed.

"Ugh, at least I can teach them a thing or two about how damn worse they are when they lost to Aoba Johsai last time."

Time Skip

"Today we have a new student. She will be staying with us for a couple of months. Shiroyuki-san, please introduce yourself."

"My name is Shiroyuki Akatsuki, nice to meet you all."

Shiroyuki stands in front of the first year class 1. In the corner of her eye, she saw an orange/red hair boy and a black hair emo kid.

So there you are, Hinata Shouyou and Kageyama Tobio.

Life is horrible.

I'll just have to appear between such rivalry... Why? Why do you do this (Author-san)?

And no. No Memes.

And class starts and ends as usual. The teachers are not impressed with the distracted Akatsuki but are surprised to see how she is able to answer them all correct.

Akatsuki, being an observant girl as she always is, notices that throughout the classes, both Hinata and Kageyama are not paying attention to class. She can feel the sadness and disappointment in them.

What in Hades happened? Wait...

Akatsuki, being forced into this universe, has watched Haikyuu!! the anime series for some times.

So they lost the Interhigh-Preliminaries... These fragile little hearts.

Akatsuki just wants to beat them up.

She knows nothing about being passionate about things. She finds that stupid.

Stupid as hell.

Well, she couldn't do anything about it.

So, let's go with the flow.

It's club time.

"Um... Hinata, right?"

"Y-yeah."

"Which club are you in?" Akatsuki asks, even though she knows the answer.

"Volleyball. You wanna join?"

"Yeah."

"That makes two managers-"

"Wrong. I am going to be a player."

"But we-"

"I'll play with the boys. Shut up."

"You shut up!"

"Hinata, can you just lead the way?"

"Ha? Oh. Okay."

Time Skip

"Um... I guess we have someone new in this club, guys." Hinata says.

"Who is it, who is it?" Tanaka asks.

"Is he strong? Is he-" Nishinoya asks.

"Quit with the 'he's!" Akatsuki shouts.

"Eh? It's a girl?" Sugawara asks.

"Awesome! Is she going to be our other manager?" Nishinoya asks.

"You lot all shut up..." Akatsuki manages.

"Eh? Is that how you say something to your sempai?" Tanaka shows his pressuring face.

"And I can't do that, Tanaka-sempai? You really piss me off."

"Oi, Akatsuki," Akakage suddenly interrupts.

"Ya! Sorry! I have a hard time controlling emotions."

The pressure that was created by Akatsuki is greater than Shiratorizawa's Ace's spike, and, of course, that pressure is called bloodlust.

Tanaka got scared somehow.

Of course, Akatsuki was about to murder him.

Hence Tanaka and the rest of the team shivers.

"You were so dumb in the match between Aoba Johsai."

"A-"

"Shut up! They need to know how bad they were."

Everyone went silent.

"I see. You guys are still depressed. Such fragile hearts."

"Like you can do better! We tried, okay! We tried our best. We know we can do better. We don't need a person who just comes up to us and says something hurtful to our first-years. You are a first-year, too! You just turn up here, too! Can you do any better?!" Daichi shouts.

"Oh, fine. Do what you want. As long as you are improving, I won't meddle with your business and I don't care about you guys."

That line is awfully cold and hurtful.

Akatsuki doesn't feel it, but everyone else does.

"If you say so, then why don't you show us how you play volleyball?" Tsukishima asks in a sarcastic tone.

"Fine by me. I will receive any attack from any of you and I won't let the ball fall."

And so it goes.

Kageyama starts with his Killer Serve, power surges and spins to the opposite court.

Akatsuki was there by the time the ball came.

She hits the ball, giving the opponents a chance ball.

But that's the problem.

No one can receive the chance ball.

Even Nishinoya fails.

Why?

Because of the accurate angle. Akatsuki calculated every step a receiver is going to take to receive a ball, how the ball bounces off the arms of the players, and carefully knocks the ball just slightly away from the point they think they can hit a decent receive.

But, of course, the player will always fail.

Because an angle grows greater as it slants away, slowly out of the court.

One point for Akatsuki.

That's all about what she can do. Serving? She can learn; Blocking? Too short and short jump span compare to Hinata.

She's shorter than Hinata.

With that, the only role she can provide is Libero.

Her speed, agility, thinking, instinct, calculations, observations... These are her daggers. That is what kills the other team.

The things that she has and other Liberos didn't.

Nishinoya can't do calculations at such a fast pace.

Not when the ball is hurtling towards you at high speed.

Next up is Freak Attack.

Akatsuki understands the process of this. She isn't shocked when Hinata closes his eyes and spikes.

It's just stupid.

Another chance ball when Hinata is in the air, Akatsuki nails down a point again.

Tsukishima's block was quite impressive, but he hasn't mastered the most efficient blocking yet.

Well, he has to meet Kuroo first.

Akatsuki was expecting a block from him, so she does her usual receive, over the net, down, and another point.

They are just too easy to break.

Just too easy.

Feints, dumps, receive and blocks.

The muscle movements.

The faint twitches of them and Akatsuki knew what will happen next.

Sugawara's play style is on the textbooks.

Asahi's solid in attacks, but he quit because he got scared and all guilty.

Hinata's on instinct.

Kageyama is on sets of accuracy.

Tsukishima's attitude towards sports is different from others.

Tanaka is optimistic, but not enough.

Yamaguchi is just... Bad in serves.

Daichi has solid receives, acting as a good captain, but if he breaks, the whole team... I guess the whole team doesn't survive unless there is more, such as Ennoshita.

Ennoshita ran away from volleyball with other second-years, though.

And so that leaves Nishinoya.

He loves this sport, but he has to think more.

So, yeah. They lost.

It's really up to them if they can figure the right way to grow.

I now don't know if I don't care for real or not, now.

-----

Akatsuki... Sometimes reminds of myself.

Well, I have to admit, I'm not like Akatsuki-smart, I am just top in math from my 8-people classroom, and if I talk smart and stand out too much, I think they will get jealous or, you know, get uncomfortable. I'm not an all good student, I'm just good at art, music and maths and sometimes science. I suck at PE and any other subjects.

So, uh... Yeah. I created this character of perfection and she has one flaw in her life: Her mental disorder. I will write more about her past later.
