5 Missing paid leaves

Chase regretted making eye contact instantly as not only didn't get recognised by the alpha but now he also needed to go and greet him. Chase excused himself from the conversation as he signed Ryan to do the further work.

"Good afternoon, Mr Charles," Chase spoke hiding his tiredness. 'Visiting construction sites was worst after not moving much for several days.' Chase wiped his forehead from sweating too much only to see Charles standing close to him the next moment.

"Good afternoon, you are not wearing your helmet right." Charles looked at Chase pointing towards his tilted helmet pointing his mistake out. Chase was dump founded at first making his moments clumsy.

"It's like this." Charles moved forward to help Chase who was standing in the same spot not moving with a dazed expression. Charles removed his hand pretty much instantly seeing Chase's neck turning reddish.

Ivan Charles' assistant stood at a distance with an expressionless face his hand full with documents and blueprints, remembering the first time he went on a site with his boss. He could hear Charles cold voice reminding him 'Ivan next time I see you not following safety precautions, I will be the one to push you from this very building.' Ivan to this day still didn't found whether his boss was serious or was just joking which wasn't Charles strong suit.

The construction building the two big giant companies were working as a hotel resort. The site was within 500 meters of beaches and sea making it a hotspot for tourists.  Despite being a cluster of different companies two groups were top in their games. Which were mainly, hotels and tourism for Xavier group while Galactica group in construction, making their business relations somewhat inter-dependent.

The sun was setting, the sky had turned in many shades of crimson. Chase removed the helmet his hair was feeling sticky from sweating too much. The parking space was no more silent as all the staff members and workers were starting to return to their houses.

"Thank you for your help, Mr Charles." Chase thanked Charles once more. Despite not being any help in today's visit at all. Chase still found it quite surprising that Charles still came for a site visit with his one sentence. Today's visit only profited Chase in one way while it was just a waste of time for Charles if it was put roughly.

Chase kind of felt guilty as he had guessed thought Charle might be attracted to him. But Charles behaviour didn't give him any such signal except when they were at the party. He couldn't even remember the last conversation they had as he collapsed in the middle.

"It's okay, you can contact my assistant Ivan for anything in future."

Chase looked behind to see when was Ryan going to start the car. Chase was exhausted from having done enough small talks for today. He could even feel the awkwardness of Charles. 'Just start the fucking car.'

The silver-haired finally moved after being impatient for long. Ryan was taking his sweet time in starting the car. "Is there a problem, Ryan?" Chase asked him in a low voice so anyone couldn't hear them outside.

Chase expression changed after hearing but he was calm. He pulled out his phone to do some calling.

Seeing the strange behaviour of both the assistant and boss Charles got the idea something was wrong. But for some reason, he hesitates to ask directly so he sends Ivan to ask.

"They said it will need 2 hours for the repair team to come, even at their fastest," Chase informed Ryan while telling him to come out of the car.

"Do you some help?" Ivan asked Ryan which Ryan was going to reject but he changed his mind. Chase was with him and the area wasn't much safe at night either. He didn't want to take risks.

Ivan opened the front of the car as Ryan helped him with a flashlight. Chase was waiting at the sideline with Charles as he didn't know a single thing about cars. He had learned to drive one as his uncle and Ryan forced him to.

"How are you feeling these days?"

Chase looked at Charles. "Did you say something?" Chase thought he was hearing things as Charles had a poker face on.

"Are you feeling better these days?" Charles made sure his voice was clear this time around as he leaned near the silver hairs ear.

"Yeah, but I miss having paid leave." Chase turned to Charles sighing, making the brown-eyed alpha smile at his answer. Chase's eyes widen seeing Charles pupil turning darker as he smiled.

*Cough* Ryan didn't feel like disturbing Chase who seemed staring at Charles but he did it nonetheless. Chase retreated after realising he was staring at someone he rejected just a few days ago. It was more embarrassing for Chase than having feelings for an ex who had moved on.

"Did you found the problem?" Chase was fast to change the topic not wanting anyone to bring up his embarrassing incident.

"No, I think you should take Mr Zimin's car. I will stay here until the help arrives." Ryan looked at Charles while saying that he kind of expected Chase to reject his offer, why he expected that? Cause he was the one who wrote an apology letter to Mr Zimin.

"I will stay with you," Ivan spoke out of nowhere before Chase was ready to reject Ryan's offer surprising both Chase and Ryan in the process.

"I can stay here alone."

Charles look at the dark sky as he decided to intervene as the useless conversation was going on between the three with no clear end to the topic. He was kind of happy that three people were already dying to live here, even before the resort was yet to finish construction.

"I will take Chase with me. Ivan, you and Mr Ryan can stay here until the help arrives." Charles opened the door for the silver-haired guy to get in who seemed unwilling at first but obligated in the end.

Seeing Chase going safely Ryan finally took a breath. He didn't found the idea of Chase having another hospital trip pleasing with all the work pending. Not to mention he didn't want to face Nicolas' bodyguard. 'She was the worst.'

"Hope this could be of help." Ivan smiled seeing the car passing the parking lot with his boss and president Xavier. He could only do this much for his boss' relation.

"What?" Ryan raised his brows hearing Ivan. Who knew this site visit was going to be the start of their partnership in keeping their bosses' relationship on track.
