1 Equality!

At a high class restaurant-

The food remained untouched as Omega doesn't bulge from his decision. The blue eyes had determination in them, seeing it Charles could tell the omega had already made his decision even before coming here.

"So, you are rejecting me. Without giving a particular reason."

"Yeah. I don't want. Any. Type of. Romantic. Relationship with you. I don't have any obligation to present you with a reason." The alpha sneered at the answer. He didn't thought the omega was going to be this straight forward with the fact that the rejection was hollow.

Charles tapped his fingers on the table rather than impatience it represented the frustration he was feeling right now.

They don't have any relations, the alpha repeated this sentence in his mind few times. While the silver haired guy sat there looking at the ticking clock on wall for the arrogant guy to accept a simple 'No'. But unexpectedly it didn't go well.

"Maybe you should take sometime to th-"

"No, I think we should not meet again. And I don't need more time instead you need it to digest the rejection, sir."

Chase Xavier got up from his seat and left while giving the alpha a cold glare with his light blue eyes as if saying he got nothing to fear. He spoke those lines as if he had recited them numerous times.

Though Chase looked like he got nothing to fear he took a deep breath as he got inside the car. His pams were moist with all the sweating, Chase pulled some tissues to quickly clean it. He didn't start the car right away but sat inside the car to think what just happened, did he really rejected the guy?

The guy Chase spoke about was Charles Zimin his forced date for today with the addition of being the CEO of Galactica group. Rejecting a guy like him for was already a accomplishments in itself.

It was clear Chase didn't enjoy dates in general, in fact his dream was live in far away from the city with a cat sitting on his lap while the dog rests beside in the couch. Of course, Chase never talked about his dream since it was silly for his age.

Chase put on the radio trying to get his thoughts clear.

"I love you....."

Chase almost quickly slammed the radio closed. Normally 8 pm was news time in local ratio station while wondering it Chase eyes met with a girl's in the dark parking lot.

1...2...3 Chase hide his presence by putting his head down in the car. Chase's neck turned pink due to feeling of embarrassment and the strong pheromones in air.

Without putting much he started the car suprising the couple making out in the car beside him including the guy this time due to car's head lights. Chase's drove the car out of the parking lot swiftly breaking the eerie silence.

After few minutes of driving on the main road the car was filled with only sound of Chase's breathing. The thought of starting the radio crossed his mind several times but everytime he pulled his hand back from the radio's knob.

Chase's driving was smooth, just like his life. The world he was living in was called the era of equality were every gender, sub gender were treated equally (?). Yep, the only minor thing was that omegas and betas would get slightly less salary for the same work done by an alpha. Or people would still laugh at gender based offensive joke in public as if it was normal. Well the standard of normal was abnormal. What's more offensive was that people would still say that omegas are taking the freedom given to them for granted. As if they didn't deserve being treated equally in the first place.

Chase stopped the car in front his house with his head still in mess, still finding excuses to tell his grandfather and brother about the date.

Chase entered the house with heavy feet but he looked as if he didn't wanted to make a sound. The old housekeeper was going to greet him but he signed not to say anything.

"Was the person not good looking?" The old housekeeper whispered. Chase's lips turned upward with her familiar way of lifting his mood but the tiredness from today was still didn't leave his blue eyes.

"Aunt Samatha, the guy was a eye candy but-" Chase was ready to gossip with the housekeeper but a familiar hand landed on his shoulder stopping him from moving. His mood for gossip suddenly got gloomy all of sudden.

Chase turned his head to meet with his brother's dark blue eyes glaring him. The air around Nicolas was already unbearable for some people but along with his displeased expression he could even surpass a demon.

"Explain." Nicolas only spoke one word but it was enough for Chase to get the severity of the situation which getting out of his hand like sand.

"Um actually..." Chase scratched his neck in nervously, trying to come with answer. Deep down Chase knew his brother wasn't going to buy his excuses, still he was unwilling to pledge guilty before proven.

Nicolas only felt helplessness seeing Chase struggle to come up with an excuse. Grandfather was once again going to lecture his younger brother but he was also going to get involved in it without any reason.

"Chase, you are going to meet grandpa right now."

Nicolas didn't gave Chase any time to resist. His tactic was simple Chase should apologise to grandfather first, leaving him no choice but to not get angry.

"Brother, at least let me mentally prepared myself." Chase look at the housekeeper for help but she only smiled at the brothers for getting along so well(?).

________

In the study the whole Xavier family was standing in silence, looking at Chase as some kind of criminal in court room. Chase's only saviour seemed to be his uncle but even he was sitting at a distance on sofa.

"Dad, let's not force anything on him."

Grandfather Xavier looked at his good for nothing son for a moment throwing the paper weight in his direction. William didn't took much efforts to catch it as if it was a habit for him.

"This thing could have hurt." He observed the paper weight in hand trying to play with it in process angering grandfather Xavier.

"You....." Old Xavier could feel his body burning up due to all the irritation he was feeling thanks to his  son and grandsons. All of them were just making him grow crazy.

Seeing his grandfather gripping the table to control his fury Chase had a realisation he wasn't going to get out of this room unharmed. He turned his neck to looked at his brother standing in the corner like a Buddha statue for help but got ignored instead.

"Chase Xavier if you don't marry someone before you turn 26, I am going to throw you out of the house."

Chase cringed at what his grandfather just said. Due to his strict voice and the situation the grandfather looked liked he was working in some kind of soap opera to Chase. But where they working in the same soap opera.

Chase felt baffled as the deadline set by his grandfather hit him.

"It just 2 months, how am I suppose to find perfect fit in 2 months? Do you know people just take 2 months to decide venue of their wedding." Chase nearly raised his voice but got hold of his manner soon due Nicolas gesturing him with hand.

Seeing the turn of the event into William decided to intervene. The country supposed to have freedom, democracy but his whole family was full of stubborn people. William couldn't relate how was he related to them?

"Guys, why don't we give Chase some time?" William tried to mediate the situation but his nephew had to cut him off.

"Time? So he could reject 50 more resumes of the candidates." Nicolas said with monotone as he was stating straight facts. Though Nicolas didn't wanted to force Chase in settling down but he also didn't wanted Chase to be inflected for the mistake he was going to commit.

The situation wasn't looking great for Chase with grandfather Xavier and Nicolas as his opponent. The tired from all the day was already toll on his body.

Seeing Chase looking miserable after what Nicolas said grandfather Xavier found his heart once again softening for grandson. He gave a sigh before telling both Chase and William to leave only letting Nicolas to stay.

_______

Balcony,

"So, what are you going to do?"

"I am going to get married." Both Chase and his uncle chuckled at that. Chase seemed to be just joking around but there was some kind of seriousness in his eyes that William didn't liked. He patted the silver haired guy's head trying to tell he had a uncle if the situation was too much for him to handle.

Chase gave William a knowing smile while bending froward on balcony. Uncle didn't have to remind him of that. He knew if something goes wrong he could just turn to his family. But frankly he didn't wanted to rely on anyone.

"Oh!....And also don't mind what the old man said today. He cried himself to tears when you went to your three days school trip. He won't force anything on you. But sadly dad is getting old....and stubborn. I think sometimes we can also try to understand him." Chase could clearly feel William's efforts in trying to please both parties from his words.

"Yeah, i guess." Chase gave William a unsatisfied answer before leaving the balcony. William sigh after realising all of the talk, he had with Chase was for nothing.

_______

The next day Chase decided not to have breakfast at home. He didn't wanted to face his grandfather and brother, for which work was the best excuse.

"So, what about my schedule today?"

Chase asked his secretary Ryan about his schedule while sipping his coffee. From the inside he was feeling bad for Ryan who had to came early which was all his fault.

"The schedule isn't much pack today. There are two meetings and you have a appointment for your regular medical checkup today. And the CEO called me in the morning to remind you that you have to apologise to Mr. Zimin today no matter what happens, if you don't..... He didn't complete his sentence." Chase couldn't control his expression after hearing the last line.

"What?" Chase chocked on his coffee which stained his clothes little bit. He look Ryan for help, his life was on verge of turning into hell.

"I will send a apology letter with a flower bouquet." Ryan was calm despite Chase's emotions all over the place. Well, Ryan had already mastered the poker face while working with Chase who could on-off his professional mode in seconds.

"Thanks Ryan. Send me the report from PR department." The professional mode on. Ryan was ready to fench the report but he stood still as a piece of information he forgot hit him now.

"Um...You have to show your face in GK group's party in the evening, that's what the CEO told me to tell you."
