In our Omegaverse...

To find our mate, we have to whistle, and then wait for someone to whistle back.

An Omega's whistle is high pitched, while an Alpha's is low pitched. Betas don't whistle. They do not have the ability to. When an Omega whistles, the Alpha will whistle back. The Omega will whistle again, and then the Alpha will find the one who whistled and make that Omega their mate if they desire. If the Omega is rejected, she will simply try for another.

If an Alpha is rejected, he will be depressed. He may even kill himself for not being "good enough". If an Omega starts to become desperate, she will go outside, and whistle for hours, or even days at a time without food or water. When she is done whistling... well... it depends on who she is. An Alpha will only whistle back if they find the whistle beautiful. They will ignore it if they're not interested.

There are Alphas, Omegas, and Betas who travel in family groups. The bigger the group is, the more popular it is. The thing about family groups is that they want to keep the bloodline "clean". So the mother and father will keep reproducing, or the father will reproduce with one of his Omega daughters, even if she's entirely against it.

Omegas and Alphas have to be sixteen to be able to mate. Any younger with either gender will be considered sexual harassment, and they will be sent to prison for twenty-five years and up, considering the situation.

Females are precious, so males will always keep them safe, even if they don't know each other. If there's a brawl, the females will be protected by males standing by.
