1 Chapter 1 - A beginning

—————
Disclaimer: English is not my main language, so there will be really bad mistakes. I'm sorry in advance. It's also my first novel. Have a good time reading!
—————

Have you ever wondered how it feels to be stabbed? The pain? Everyone uses the term 'stabbing like pain', yet they have never been stabbed in their life, so how could they know how it feels? Anyway, now I'm one of those people who can truly relate. As I was cooking alone in my house, I grabbed a knife and just stabbed myself. The voices had won this battle.

Looking at my abdomen, I could see my bloody guts spilling out,I could see them squirm on the ground, how? I only remember stabbing myself, didn't I? I don't remember gutting myself. Maybe the voices had finally taken over. I couldn't feel a thing, maybe the adrenaline was kicking in. I was wide awake, but, albeit slowly, I could feel my consciousness slip away, my eyelids as heavy as dumbbells…

…

It's raining. I've always loved rain, the sound of raindrops in the background had always been my lullaby. I could feel them gently fall on my face, spreading an intense coldness with evey drop… coldness? I thought I was dead. Was I saved in time by a doctor? Impossible, I live alone, I don't have friends or any acquaintances, I haven't even received a visit in years, so no one could have found me.

As I was thinking about getting up, I couldn't, my body was heavy, as if my limbs were deprived of their blood for a long time and were numb. As I slowly turned my head, I could see a black cat with blue eyes just staring at me, as if it was waiting for me to die so it could devour my face like I heard on the internet. Just as I was processing everything, the cat spoke in an androgynous voice, "Fool, do you really think I need you to die to eat you up?" as it started walking around me. "You're so weak that even a pup could kill you!"

Maybe I was hallucinating about talking to a cat. Was I so lonely that I was now having schizophrenic breaks? .. « You really are helpless, aren't ya? There I thought I met someone pitiable, yet you're also a fool. » The cat stepped on my chest and stared at me from above as it said that.

What was it saying? Why am I being called a fool? Have I become such a self-deprecating person that I started doing this to myself? Anyway, how come I am ´alive'? Just as I was pondering, the cat replied, "I saved you. Well, saved is a big word for you right now, let's say that I helped your soul. You died because you lost to your 'Daemon'. It's such a rare case that you can count fewer cases than there are fingers on your hand in a year. It's not suicide, suicide is a prolonged state where you're weak mentally because of certain factors and are tipped over."

So I died because I was too lonely and committed suicide, then? What a way to die! Never had I thought I would 'end' this way. What a sad life. The cat grumped, "Stop your nonsense, you were just such an introverted and socially allergic person! That was your nature,don't mistake it for depression or suicide. What a fool! I regret transmigrating your soul, you're so lucky you suffered from your 'daemon'."

What? Transmigration? I had read enough books to know what was happening, so I was getting reincarnated! I love you, God! Now I get to live another amazing life while doing my favorite hobby (aka being alone at home doing absolutely nothing all day long and being a bookworm). Can't I just get to sleep forever? I don't want to live another life, just leave me alone.

The cat just stared at me, it looked puzzled yet amused and interested. As if it was looking at an extremely complex piece of machinery that had started its work. It asked, "I've been a god for as long as there has been something breathing on this ´plane', yet I've never seen someone like you. You were enjoying your life as an introvert, but here you are, contemplating how you would end your life so soon. Someone like you died by 'accident' yet you don't want to live. Hmm... this won't do. I am God, I saved you so you could live, you can't die, that goes against my will. I can't be wrong. So you have to live, I will make you live whether you like it or not." The cat stood up and stepped down from me, it turned around then as if he were a certain anime character who would scream 'The World!'
The rain stopped—not just stopped, it froze mid-air as if time itself had stopped. The self-proclaimed god muttered something I was not allowed to understand.
As it spoke, red runes appeared mid-air before my eyes, runes incomprehensible normally, but I could somehow read them:

-
{Host has died because of &$%#, host still alive}

{%system error%, host should be dead…}

{Preparing report to higher´plane' in 3…2..?!}

{Higher beings have approved host's existence}

{Higher beings have made a decision: host's system has to reboot, duration: ?}

{Host can still use the system but not all its options}

{??? Has changed your status: you have acquired [???]}

{System wishes its host good luck}…
-

The runes began to fade, and I was somewhat puzzled as to what was happening. I've always read about these kinds of things, but experiencing them was something else. As I was not gasping at the fact that I transmigrated or was talking to a god, but that systems existed, the cat said, "My 'work' here is done; I hope that you can try.. to live this life. Even if you don't, I congratulate you for making my day an interesting one little one, it's not everyday that you can receive God's interest. I hope we don't have to meet soon, if you see what I mean haha ». As it finished speaking, the rain started falling again, and the cat was nowhere to be seen, as if all this was in his head.

After this commotion, he could finally lift his head after a few agonizing minutes. What he saw while investigating his body left him gasping for air, his body was ravaged by wounds and a puddle of blood was dancing harmoniously with one made of water. Now he understood why he was feeling numb and weak. After some time, he couldn't keep his head up, as it landed again on the blood colored weed ground and he felt his mind slowly slipped away. His body had lost too much blood and was way too wounded to even survive on its own, the rain and cold made matters worse. Just as he was about to embrace eternal slumber, he noticed a figure slowly and nonchalantly approaching him from his right and squatting next to him while looking at him. From his exhausted and rain covered eyes, he could discern only white hair as he finally lost to the exhaustion. Not before hearing the person mumble something indiscernable.
