she turned to dr Langford in complete denial.
"he will be fine wont he?"
dr Langford was very familiar with this type of condition after massive trauma,so he played along tactfully.
"of course amy dear...he's in the best place...you need not worry"
amy nodded dumbly.
"ok I'm going back in..he must be so lonely "
dr Langford attempted to stop her but decided against it....she may come around if she sees for herself.
as he waited outside she opened the door to a sight both welcome and unwelcome.
for there he laid her husband.
she screamed as the attending doctor turned to her with a sympathetic look.
he walked towards her ushering her out.
dr Langford stood to receive her in his arms.
the doctor squared up and spoke rather defensively "mrs zamiloon dr Langford i... i... can explain....I know he was DNR but I felt a weak breath so I had to try....and it was a success...sorry for the upset I had caused"
amy collapsed futher in dr Langford's arms.
dr Langford spoke comfortingly with joy
"dr schrieber I've known you for a long time and I trust your judgment....if he was still breathing albeit weakly you merely assisted his way that's the right thing you did"
dr schrieber nodded telling them simon needed emergency care and rest.
dr Langford turned amy to face him
"amy. . amy...hey amy listen....rejoice for simon IS alive....he made it...come on let's get you some food and I'm taking you home to your family....just look at how weak you are the baby is due very soon"
amy held dr Langford's hand unable to speak...he was her rock in this very traumatic time.
as they left the Hospital amy finally spoke
"he's really alive?isn't he?he made it"
dr Langford nodded "yes amy he did"
he helped her in his car and drove to her family home.
he brothers rushed to the door as they knocked.
saleh asked "dr Langford is simon ok?"
dr Langford smiled "it was a close call but yes he's ok...they are taking care of him as we speak.....amy needs rest and care she is quite shell shocked"
salim took his sister off dr Langford and thanked him.
saleh moved to the kitchen as mr zamiloon appeared at the door.
"dr Langford I really appreciate what you have done for both simon and my daughter....you have been indispensable in this time...would you come in for a drink and something to eat"
dr Langford obliged.
sasha was beside herself with joy....he had made it...after all the trials and difficulties.
she prepared tea and snacks as she settled near her husband awaiting the details of what happened.
dr Langford smiled and began "well the surgery went well...then he hadn't woke up since the operation so they waited 26hours and as per his request they turned off life support....he then flatlined....but as we left all but half an hour later amy wanted to go back in as she couldn't believe he was gone and to our surprise the doctor had felt a weak breath and revived him.....he is a strong one"
Sasha held her husband's hand and squeezed it lightly,he did the same back a surge of relief washing over them.
Their little girl wasn't to be a widow for the second time.
Dr Langford sat comfortably as he had on many occasions been there for all sorts of gatherings.
He was one of the family now.
Salim and Saleh joined as Mr zamiloon talked animatedly about the current affairs with dr Langford as sasha looked on.
They took a seat and waited for the conversation to lull to a close.
Saleh spoke in a rather panicked fashion unlike himself.
"Mum...dad...the thing is before Simon's operation his birth parents showed up harassing amy for money....I gave them a good amount to get rid of them but it seems they moved here...salim can tell you what he found"
Then everyone except them stared in shock at the revelation.
Salim spoke of their whereabouts and much to sasha and Vladinski's disgust and horror it was right near to thier daughter's house.
Vladinski Amy's dad stood at his full foreboding height of 6 foot and said "come on boys we're going on an adventure "
The sinister glint in his eyes told a different story as to which type of adventure.
Sasha stood in a panic
