Eve's expertise

"Did you meet any troubles while cultivating? I want to make sure that everything is all right with your cultivation, otherwise, we need to hurry to the sect master to seek help!"

I don't know why, but I don't inform her about the situation right away. Maybe I want to tease her up for a bit, maybe I want to make it an even greater surprise for her? I don't really know, I just followed my guts!

"I'm not sure what that was, but it felt like I had to fight against something at first, but it lasted only for a moment. Outside of this, there weren't any problems. I just still can't wrap my head around the fact that I was able to progress so quickly!"

So I guess that I was right. While I'm happy that such a thing happened, since Eve is far more skilled and experienced in using cultivation to a great effect, I'm kinda worried about the side effects of such a solution.

"I want you to calm down and relax now. Don't try to resist, okay?"

Sitting cross-legged on the grass, I turn to Eve. I guess that showing will be much easier than explaining it. Noticing her nod, I slowly start to drive my cultivation. 

Just from how we start circulation can one derive the great gap in our skills. While she just opens the flood gates to get access to the full output instantly, I need to slowly feed the energy to the flow from my dantian to achieve the same effect. While we are both capable of using up all of the energy, I'm not so shameless to claim that I can do it as well as Eve!

As I drive my cultivation further and further, I turn my eyes to my love, observing the changes on her face. At first, she looks startled, then her expression turns into enlighted one, only to switch to being elated in just a few moments!

"Do you mean that we share cultivation?"

While I can hear the joy in her voice, there is a fair dose of anxiety in it as well. Well, considering the fact that this is probably the first time for something like this to happen in this world, being startled isn't something to be ashamed of!

"I guess you could call it like that. Did you try to push all of your energy into the flow? Because I still had some of it left in my dantian even while you managed to reach the peak of our current cultivation state."

This is also a thing that bothers me. In the end, reaching higher realms not only means finer control over better quality energy, but also an increased quantity of it as well! If that's the case, will improving my mana via the system actually allow Eve to use it as well, or only a part equal to the might of our current cultivation level is applicable for her? While it sounds complicated at first, it thins down to the question of whether advancing through the Bonger makes my cultivation and Eve stronger!

"I think I used it all up, but if you want I can try to do it again!"

Seeing my troubled face, the girl instantly offers her help. But there is no need to do that. For now, she can either use up my entire mana or the significantly greater part of it. If I want to see any difference, I guess I need to level up enough to reach my breakthrough. Considering how system blocked my attempt to overcome my current bottleneck already, I guess we are both bound by it. While Eve might be able to conquer it by herself, I won't let her do it. As long as the system is there for me, I can easily do so myself, without suffering anything from those strange ordeals. 

"There is no need for that. How about we go back to the mansion, open the bottle of wine you told me previously and just talk the things through? Looking at our current circumstances, we are bound to each other no matter what, so any potential problems with trust shouldn't matter anymore, would they?"

While that's not entirely true, I use this situation to push myself toward this talk. Maybe I'm just scared for nothing? Maybe all those stupid novels where main characters were finding elaborate reasons to hide their identity actually were just authors looking for a way to easily create a misunderstanding and hence - a tension? No matter what, I want to give it my all for that relationship!

"Yeah, let's do that!"

This time, I can see a mischevious glint in her eye appearing once again. While I'm curious what she has in mind for such an expression to appear, I don't linger on this fact but follow her into the mansion instead.

"Can you set up some kind of silencing formations or barriers? Even if we want to talk about it, I believe that this kind of thing should be kept strictly between us."

This question only shows another disparity between me and her. Even if my system is the source of her current strength, even if the visions from the wisdom stat allowed me to easily elevate her through half the mortal realm of cultivation, she is still way more experienced in this entire cultivation! God damn it, why didn't this super-smart God think about this problem? Why does this system ignore my struggle? How am I supposed to be someone reliable for her, if, in this most basic aspect of this world, I need to constantly rely on her?

"Yeah, just wait a moment."

As she turns around to face me, she throws her hands around my neck and starts driving our cultivation. Even before the full flow is formed, she is already pushing it around seemingly random parts of both of our bodies, controling the speed at which the energy is freed to the area surrounding us. 

No matter how hard I would try, this kind of mastery is far beyond my capabilities! System! Why you are so useless!
