3 Choice

"NO NO I won't do it."

When given two choices humans always look for more, kill this person or kill your son. their answer is always I'll kill the person that's ordering me. They find loopholes in the system and cracks in the code that allow them to have the best of both choices. So whenever they are to make a decision based on two choices that have no leeway to spin around or maneuver they are disgruntled.

"I won't do it! what kind of choices are those? somebody got a choice that said drink milk or drink orange juice! how is this fair." Rob shouted at the deity.

"Humans are a sum of their choices," Ikarus floated around the cave. "Your wish is one that should not be awarded without hardship."

"SO! Why should I have to choose between raping my daughter or my mother!"

"That is the hardship required for what you want to attain."

"You're the fucking devil."

"My division is what humans would normally call, Satan."

In the heavenly realm a group of god's governed over the earth, they were responsible for the outcomes of all decisions made. They made sure all outcomes were equivalent to the choice made.

This was the reason Ikarus was cast out, it was a minor one in hindsight but as gods that have complete control over an aspect of the universe it was a mighty blunder.

"I believe it was Aristotle that said, virtue of character is a disposition involving choice." Ikarus loathed conversation, however it was necessary if he was to live on in this world. To date, there has only been one human who he truly enjoyed having a conversation with.

Choice, the supposed ability to freely decide between alternatives. Choice is a corollary of the traditional notion of free will, understood as the supposed power or capacity of humans to make decisions or perform actions independently of any prior event in or state of the universe.

"What is your choice mortal."

"Fuck you, I'm not doing it. Fuck you, fuck this," Rob walked toward the exit of the cave but something felt off.

"Due to a breach of contract your soul is now mine."

"I didn't answer your fucking question, how did I breach the contract?"

Despair.

"Since you talked to the blessed ones I believed you already knew of the contract stipulations. Once you ask for a question, the contract takes effect." Ikarus looked at Rob, the eyes of the god were not located in the same place that of a human would be. The blue crystal-like orbs were in his chest and from it he could see everything.

"I didn't know of the contract! and you didn't tell me, it's your fault."

Lies.

Cornered the rat tries one last attempt to best the cat but humans never get the memo, there are no loopholes.

"Ok, I'll let you have a wish for free." Ikarus grabbed a stone off the ground a crushed it. "If you didn't truly know about this information you will be let free, and the wish that you came here to obtain will be given to you."

"Okay, let's do that one!" Rob turned back and walked toward Ikarus.

"However, if you did know of the information. The consequences of your actions will take effect in the form of a breach of contract. Meaning your life would be mine."

Rob stopped, the blessed ones told him that nothing could be false in front of the choosing god. If he took this deal and it was uncovered that he knew of the information his life would end the same way.

"What do you choose? the former choice or the latter."

All choices have outcomes, if you decide to eat a meal before going to work the outcome would be a surplus of strength and a better mental state. If you decided to do the opposite, your outcome would be the opposite as well.

"I'll do the second choice, I didn't know of the information!" Rob shouted.

The blue crystals in the chest of Ikarus became dark and Rob fell to the floor. "Your wish is my command."

Outcome.

Fire? something smelt like it was burning but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. The air smelt of rosemary and sweat, the same perfume his wife usually put on but who was sweating.

He opened his eyes and all he could feel was his head, his body was placed over some sort of cauldron and the searing flames burnt his back to a crisp. HE SCREAMED, but he couldn't hear his own voice. The pain was finally setting in and all he could hear was... Crying?

He looked to his side and he saw a man punching his mother repeatedly, her eyes burst from her skull and her brain matter poured into the furnace. "Mom? What's happening!"

"FUCK, WHERE AM I WHAT IS THIS?" He looked to his other side and he saw his wife getting stabbed continuously by three men, "Jenna, Jenna!" He cried out but again he couldn't hear himself, tears rolled down his eyes but burnt up almost as immediately as they were formed. Where am I!!!! he tried to stand up but he was chained down to the cauldron.

"You breached our contract and this is your punishment." A dark toned voice that emphasized on each word said.

"Ikarus!" He looked up again and he saw the mangled body of the god looming over him like a moon in the night sky. "I'm sorry, please I'm sorry! please they don't deserve this! please please!"

"You would be punished the same way you lived," Ikarus floated higher up into the air and Rob screamed although inaudible.

"ARIA! YOU FUCKING BASTARD!" Immediately Ikarus cleared the way, a substance poured on his face. "What is this? smells like." BLOOD, above him was his daughter and just like the other two members of his family, she was getting punished. However, she was the only one being shredded by chainsaws.

"It's unfortunate because the punishment for the first decision was nowhere near this gruesome." Ikarus looked at Rob. "However it was only fair considering what you stood to gain."

"You... bastard." Tears kept pouring down from Rob's eyes but vaporized as they formed. "Please just stop this."

"You lived your life as a thief, an assassin, a gun for hire. You killed just as much as you breathed, filling body bags with creativity but when it happens to your loved ones. All of a sudden you have a problem?"

"Please just let them go," Rob shouted in pain as multiple spears entered his body. "FUCK FUCK! PLEASE JUST STOP!!"

His blood splashed into the furnace and it instantly steamed creating a puff of a metallic odor that almost made him hurl.

"Those are the people you killed, you stripped them away from their families and placed them in the drawers of a building but now. They're back." Ikarus floated away. "And thank you sir, for your delectable soul."

On both sides, his mother and wife were stabbed and beaten like cattle. Above him, his daughter was being mutilated. Every three minutes the people he killed would throw spears at him and when he thought he could find solace in closing his eyes. He saw playbacks of his father's murder.

Verdict.
