Woke up at the nerve wracking sound of my bed-side alarm. Of course I have a phone but mum says my mobile phone alarm is doing a not-so-great job at waking me up on time. She says the alarm ringtone is too melodious and will only make my sleep more enjoyable. Hate to say, but she's right, so she got me this ear-ripping, nerve-wracking, sanity-disorientating bed-side alarm. I got up with the first-day-of-school kinda excitement and so I made it to mum and dad's room early today for morning devotion.
"Good morning mum, morning dad" I greeted with an enthusiastic smile and ignored the dramatically shocked look on my parents' faces
"Wow" was all dad could say
"I'm glad to see the bed-side alarm is doing a great job"
Mum said and I rolled my eyes...
"Okay can we get to it already.. " "of course "
"Luke's still sleeping mum wont you wake him up? "
"Oh hunny the kid wasn't feeling too well, he's a bit nauseous so we let him sleep, our prayers'll cover up"
I could only blink with my mouth hung open.... Seriously when has mum ever let me take a morning off from five o'clock devotion, even when I put up my best acting skills that Hollywood can't compare to and now my little brother pretends to be nauseous and she let him sleep!
"Mum, when have you ever let me sleep when I'm sick.... Even when I coughed blood! " I said dramatically
"Hunny we all know that was ketchup 😒, besides he's just a kid so Zoey let the poor kid sleep"
With that said we started with the procedures and went to my room once we were done and got dressed for my first day of college.
After scanning through my wardrobe I settled for a lemon green hoodie, fitting black trousers and black sneakers with lemon green details on each side.
I put my hair up in a pony tail with two loose curles in front of my face. I don't do make up so I only applied mascara to my already long lashes, glossed up my lips and I was good to go. I looked at the mirror admiring the beauty in my simplicity and let out a deep sigh in attempt to calm my nerves. I grabbed my things and flew downstairs. We had breakfast and mum drove me to school while dad drove my younger brother Luke.
We arrived at the school and it was a sight to behold. A large complex which looked like the type of school for royalties. The main complex tall and breathtaking and about three smaller complexes I assumed were the hostels. It was massively spacious that you would need a ride to get to one end from the other. I was sure it would be over the top expensive if I wasn't here on scholarship! I still maintained my composure and didn't act like a chick in the midst of eagles and we walked to the registration office, the reception which was bigger than our living room and mum started off with the necessary procedures without wasting a moment. My eyes were wandering all over the place and observing as much as I possibly could and I noticed how the student here we're dressed, some females we're casually dressed while some others were dramatically over dressed like a blondie I spotted on a cute short dress with heels and sunshades.... Seriously 😒
Heels and sunshades?!!.
I'm not the type to be intimidated though, its just not in my nature, I was mentally preparing myself for what ever experience I'm gonna have here cos its sure gonna be one of a kind.
coming soon
