2 chapter 2

As soon as the lunch break was over we all made our way back through the hall way.

I checked my diary as I had written down my time table there and found out I had no class until the next hour so I just told my friends to go on to their class while I stayed back.

I was about heading to the cafeteria when I saw a door open, I pushed it and realized it was an empty class so I stepped in and looked around for a seat. I found one and was about sitting when I saw an open book and a bag on one of the tables, it meant someone was here before I came in and that explains why the door was open but where was this person.

I looked through the book and found out some literary terms were underlined and it was actually a voluminous book, who on Earth has such time to read such books and still underline sentences he found interesting.

Just then I turned back startled, a boy was standing before me and subconsciously my jaw dropped.

He had a lightly tanned skin and it shone as rays from the window opposite rested on his skin like they had found comfort in him. He had broad shoulders and was tall with full slightly red lips. His hair was dark brown,thick and lustrous. His eyes were a mesmerizing ocean blue, they stood out on his strong and defined face and his body was absolutely perfect.

I had to pinch myself in order to believe I was not thinking about a prince charming from one of the fairy tales I've read but his voice brought me out of the well of thoughts.

"Are you checking me out?" He asked, his voice cold.

I felt a blush creeping on to my face but I still kept my face down because I didn't want him to see that he had effects on me.

I regained myself and looked up to him but what I saw made me nearly Lose balance.

He was smiling, revealing his white set of perfect dentition.

" I wasn't checking you out Mr Bookworm, I actually was surprised someone like you could read such books. That's if you are indeed the owner or you were here to check me out".

I said smirking.

He grinned and then walked past me.

"I'm Daniel and yes I read such books but no I wasn't checking you out. What's there to check out anyways"

For a moment I was frozen to my spot, was he indirectly trying to say I was unattractive entirely or just when compared to him.

I rolled my eyes and went back to my seat.

"I'm sorry if I annoyed you, well I'm crashing here because I've got no class and I'd like to presume likewise in your case or are you some bad girl?" He asks smiling

I returned the smile

" I'm Ashley Winters and I am no bad girl Danny so go ahead with your presumption,you were right I have no classes now.

We talked about random things and he cracked jokes that made me laugh a lot, it was like I'd known him forever and I was glad to be there with him.

I found out he wasn't living quite far from me but of course is any street really that far from my street here in Houston,Texas.

We exchanged contacts and just then the bell rang so we waved at each other as I made my way to the last class for today.

"I feel I'm Missing out on something here, don't you feel the same way Scott?" Natalie asked grinning

Scott and I exchanged glances and I shrugged.

"Well then fill me in on what's up Nat" Scott said mockingly.

Natalie rolls her eyes then say," I noticed my dearest bestie here has been smiling to herself for a while and sometimes she's lost in her thoughts"

I looked at Natalie trying to act oblivious but she stares hard at me before bursting into a laugh.

Scott turned to me and raised his brows giving me the *what's she talking about* look.

I ignore him and try to pick up my pace but Natalie pokes me.

" Fineeee! I say raising my hands in defeat, I didn't have a class so I spent some time in an empty classroom and ended up having a conversation with one of the most hottest guys I've ever seen and he seems really nice and I gave him my contact". I ended sighing

"Wow! One of the most hottest guys? He goes to our school? He's nice? What's his name?!" Nat asks almost screaming in excitement.

I look over to Scott and I can't say the same for him.

"One of the most hottest guys huh?!" He says scoffing

"C'mon Scott, you're hot too" I say smiling sheepishly and we all laugh but I quite notice his smile doesn't reach his eyes but I shrug it off.

I turned to Natalie,"Yes, he goes to our school and he's nice and seems actually smart. His name's Daniel or Danny" I said with a smile.

We didn't really involve Scott in the rest of the conversation as he seemed uninterested so we just let him be.

Daniel's POV

I was driving myself home when pictures of today's event came running back to me. I could almost feel her Chestnut red hair as she turned her back to go sit when I annoyed her. She was average in height and had a creamy skin, she wasn't that slim but I wouldn't say chubby. She was indeed attractive and was so full of live, I liked the aura radiating from her and for once I felt genuinely happy after a long time.

Don't get me wrong, my other friends do make me happy but something about Ashley made me happier and I appreciated it.

I got back home and there was my mum making lunch. The smell of her delicious cooking made me hungry almost immediately but I wasn't going to show it anyways.

"Hey son" my mom said with a slight smile.

"Hey" I said drily.

"You look bright today for a change" she stated smiling.

"What? A problem with that?" I asked nonchalantly.

"No, I'm glad actually. That's a good sign. She said.

I walked up to my room smiling. Seeing my mum smile too was good,I liked it but I didn't like some choices she's made over the years and so I act angry around her even though I'm well aware she knows it's all an act.
