4 Midnight Suprises

Once it was 11:48 I grabbed my backpack and looked out the window. Ashley was in the living room on her phone so I was all alone. Angelo came and hour early to drop of his siblings. They looked so cute. He then 'left'.

Now he's at the bottom of my window, waiting for me. I lifted up the window and looked down at Angelo whose hands where open, ready to catch me. I looked down at me. I wasn't fat but I wasn't slim either. I had on an oversized hoodie and leggings with black boots. I was medium weight but I was scared to jump on Angelo's fragile body.

"Are you scared?" He whispered to me. I was on the second floor but I could still hear him.

I gulped and nodded.

I saw his eyes dart around until something caught his eye and ran for it. A minute later he came back with a ladder. He carefully placed it on the wall.

I was still scared but managed to get on the ladder. It rattled a little, making my heart beat faster.

I climbed farther. When it was 8 steps left, the ladder started moving.

"Jump, I'll catch you." He told me, sincerely.

I jumped without thinking. I shut my eyes as the air hit my face. I felt his arms snake around my waist and catch me as my feet hit the ground with the ladder.

"Are you ok Jay?" He asked, looking down at me as he removed his hands from my waist.

"Yeah but, let's go." I exclaimed, grabbing his hand and running with him as someone was approaching the door.

Once we where out of sight we busted out laughing.

"We better head to school unless Hayley and Aiden will just start without us." Angelo said.

We immediately ran in the direction of the school.

Once we got there, we immediately saw Aiden and Hayley waiting for us behind a bush.

"Psssh, guys come here." Aiden whispered over to us.

We ran over to join them at the bush.

"Why are you guys still here?" Angelo asked.

"We where waiting for you guys." Hayley hissed at Angelo and he just rolled his eyes.

"Ok you two, we better get going." Aiden announced. We walked out from behind the bush and to the front of the school door.

"Does anyone even have their school pass on them?" I asked.

"I do, M'lady." Aiden said, taking it out and winking at me. I giggled a little as he put the card for scanning.

Once the door opened we walked into the deserted hallway. We then ran to the ruin part of the school but it looked....different. WAY different. It looked almost like a portal kind of doorway.

"What's this voodoo?" Angelo grumbled. I giggled and took his hand, dragging him into the portal.

"Aiden, Hayley, come in!" I yelled back through the open portal door. They quickly jumped in as the portal door closed.

"Woah..." Angelo sighed out. I turned around and was soon mesmerized. It was a small crystal like ballroom with a big crystal button in the middle of it. I walked over to it and saw something written on it.

"I needed your help, you guys came for me, oh I'm so happy! Press the crystal button and my ghost shall appear to you." I read out. I looked back at the 3, hesitating a little but after getting a quick smile from Aiden I turned back to the button and pressed on it hard. Once I heard a cracking noise I stepped back, more of stumbled, I lost my balance. I felt flat on my back to the ground. I felt a pair of hand drag my back up on my feet. I stepped into the body of where the arms came from. "What the hell is going on?" I heard the body say. I looked up into Angelo's face.

"Where did Hayley and Aiden go?!" I quickly realized. We where in complete darkness and seemed to have no walls. I started breathing heavily.....oh no, this isn't the time for a mental breakdown, my friends are gone. Not in front of Angelo, oh god.

"Jayla, are you ok?" I heard him ask. All the sounds around me where diming out. I turned to Anglo with watery eyes as I kept breathing faster and soon started shaking.

"Jayla, what's wrong?!" He asked, a hint of worriedness in his tone. When I didn't answer he held me close and pulled me to the floor with him. He pulled me to his chest and hugged me close.

"It's my fault isn't it." I mumbled. The seemed to startle Angelo, maybe cause it didn't sound like something I'd normally say. "Oh no, no. It's not really." He sighed out, using one hand to caress my head. I was so catching feelings for this boy. Wait no, wrong time for this.

I sat up, looking straight at Angelo. His eyes seemed to be the brightest thing I saw in the dark room. I wanted to kiss him but I knew this wasn't the time for fantasies. "Thanks, Angelo." I mumbled, hugging him buy his neck. He hugged me back. We pulled away quickly when we heard a bang coming from far away from where we where.

"Come on Angelo, let's go." I said, looking down at him from our position. I was knelling in front of him as he sat down on the floor. He quickly grabbed my chin and kissed my forehead before standing up. I just stayed there, shocked. D-Did that just happen?! YES IT DID!

Jayla: 1, Asley: 0!

Ok, enough of that. Angelo lifted a hand to help me up. I took his had . He literally dragged me to where the sound came from. All we saw was a note on the floor.
