6 Begin

Friday night, the sombre night sky hung over the rural city of Country Z. The city by the name Katakosh was originally a mining town that gradually degraded over time. The mines around Katakosh had been depleted after decades of mining. At that point, the town became redundant and had become a ghost town. That is, until the Immortal's Blood Gang took over the rural city of Katakosh and had made it their headquarters.

The headquarters was not built inside the ghost town. Rather, it was built within the mining ground. Using reinforced steel and many hardened materials, they managed to create a formidable stronghold that had one way in and one way out. The construction lasted for five whole years before the headquarters became usable. That was the information that Ash was able to acquire from four days of reconnaissance.

The young man came to the eventual conclusion that he had no way out of this mission. And so, he may as well give it a shot. The level of information gathering done by Ash was definitely comparable to the top secret agents in the different countries.

There was going to be a visit from their Mafia boss two days from now. And so, Ash did not have much time to prepare for the upcoming assassination. The biggest concern when Ash did a profile check for his target was when he discovered the identity behind Jovia Tabola.

The Tabola family was what one would describe as the royal family in a first world country. The Tabolas run a communist nation of Country P. They essentially control the entire government and military might in the country. The flow of goods in and out of the country were all decided by them. The worse part was that Jovia Tabola was the eldest son of the current president of Country P. Who knew how much protection was given to this mafia boss.

'There needs to be a way to effectively end the Mafia Boss's life without compromising my own.' Ash thought to himself in his apartment. He stood in front of his white board that was usually used for study purposes. Right now, it was instead filled with information and tactical intelligence.

Ash was definitely a very meticulous and cautious young man. Trained from young to be flexible and adaptive to different situations, the boy soon caught the eye of the higher ups as he performed better than his peers. There were many times he came out on top in competitions because of his terrifying plans.

The assassination that killed the three drug cartel bosses two years ago was one example of how terrifying Ash was. The explosion back then was indeed caused by a natural gas leak. However, it wasn't as accidental as the government had thought.

Before their meeting, Ash had infiltrated and gotten control over the least experienced drug cartel boss, Cisco. His plan was for Cisco to distract and cause the other two drug cartel lords to lose their focus. Ash had already pre-installed gas tanks that contain Chlorine Trifluoride. This gas was extremely flammable and reactive in nature. It was so reactive that it does not actually need an ignition force for it to combust.

The pre-installed gas tanks would start releasing the gas into the surroundings via a remote signal given by Ash. Of course, Cisco and the other drug cartel lords would not be able to figure out something was up as the gas was released outside their enclosed room. It would require a short five to ten minute distraction, before the volume of gas would reach a critical level and self combust. That was what had happened in the end. The building collapsed from the explosion and no traces was left behind for the authorities to investigate.

In the eyes of Ash, there would always be a need of backup plans. The mission from two years ago definitely had its flaws and may compromise the entire mission if it were found out. That was why Ash had numerous other methods in assassinating the three cartel bosses. He was never a one trick Andy. For the S class mission however, Ash needed something concrete and fool proof. He needed to finish it in one go.

Two days passed by quickly, not just for the university students who were busy cramming for the semester exams, but also for Ash who had been preparing for his assassination of Jovia Tabola. The best plan Ash could think of was none other than infiltration. He needed to infiltrate the mines so as to carry out his subsequent actions.

Today, there were two events occurring at the mines. One was the afternoon visit done by Jovia Tabola. The other was the monthly maintenance conducted by a cleaning company hired by the mafia group. Ash had applied to become a part time worker inside the company two days ago and of course, the company gladly hired him.

As the mafia group did not want their boss to see the cleaning company, they scheduled the cleaning service to be done in the morning. Ash and his cleaning gang arrived together at 6am. The security was obviously at full throttle. The guards even checked the chemicals and tools that were to be used for maintenance. The whole process took a painful 30 minutes before they were even allowed in.

When they arrived at the mine entrance, you would expect to see a dingy looking cavern. However, the renovation had made the entire area look especially futuristic and clean. The cavern had been transformed into nice white walls with air conditioning circulation through out the facility. Ash looked around in awe, but in fact, he was trying to survey his surroundings for potential escapes.

It seemed that the rumours were true. There was only one way in and one way out of the Immortal Blood's underground base. There were two elevators that led underground. The air vents would be a viable escape if it weren't for the fact that they had used a soft aluminium material to construct the vents. it made it impossible for intruders to climb out or into the base. The entire base is impenetrable. Unless someone called in an air strike and blew up the entire mine entrance, the chances of this place getting destroyed is close to zero.

Ash went down into the underground base with his colleagues. Their job was to clean up and maintain the internal temperature regulating units. The underlings in the mafia gang wanted the place to be functioning perfect for their boss. If it were not for that, the monthly maintenance would have been pushed to a further date.

As they walked further into the base, Ash noticed a person exiting from a room. From the corner of his eyes, he could tell that there were many computers and screens inside there.

'Bingo. That must be the Operations Room.' Thought Ash. There was a card interface outside that allowed for users to enter the space. Only a select few people are allowed to enter the room that controls the activities in the base.
