7 Assassination I

"Hey Ash, mind helping out Frank with the regulation checkup?" The boss of the cleaning company told the newbie what to do.

"Okay." Ash followed his orders and accompanied the bulkier man. Frank had an expressionless face. He continued to do his work, while Ash watched from the back. It didn't seem like he needed any help with what he was doing.

The cleaning company was currently in the temperature regulation room. Their job today was to make sure that the air vents that controlled the air flow of the air conditioners were working. As Ash had nothing to do, it was perfect time to check through his plan.

He knew where the Operations Room was located and most definitely, the Mafia Boss would have to step inside there for his visit.. He had already pre-packed the needed chemicals into his 'maintenance' haversack and could easily make it in a few short minutes. The problem now was that there seems to be no way for him to enter the room to plant the time bomb.

"Hey Frank, what is the thing you are working on right now?" Ash asked from behind. Frank was tinkering around with a machine that had green and red LED lights plastered across the surface.

"This machine is a checkbox for whether each of the vents in the mines are working." Frank explained in simple terms.

"How do you know which vent is located where in the mines?"

"This computer," Frank raised the laptop that was connected to the machine to show Ash, "It states the names for each of the vent's location and whether there is a problem is in the vent's shutters."

'Bingo.' Ash cheered in his heart. From that, he had formulated and finalised his assassination plan.

"Hey Ash, could you grab me a T-wrench from the bag?"

"Um… Which bag?" Ash acted blur.

"Ah, it's fine. I'll take it myself. Just stay and watch over the computer."

"Okay." Frank left the room and now, Ash was alone. His eyes darted around the room, scanning for cameras one last time. There were many common places that cameras could be placed. Ash learnt about it in Nexus and was extremely familiar with scanning procedures.

Back to the laptop, Ash's fingers slides along the trackpad, his eyes followed along as he looked for his target room. Within a few short seconds, he had locked in on his target. Number 25. Ash started to look for the number 25 on the machine in front of his. Of the thousands of LED lights, he finally found the one belonging to the Operations Room.

The young man did not know exactly how long he had left before Frank would come back, neither did he know how should he activate the red LED light for number 25. The quickest way was obviously, destruction. Taking a wrench used to open up the bolts for the machines, he used minimal strength to break the green LED light for the Operations Room. As expected, the red light turned on immediately after.

A minute after, Frank came back to the room and Ash was already sitting in his spot, watching over the laptop obediently. Frank spoke to the young man, "Thanks lad, I can do the checking up. You can wait around the room for now."

"Okay. I shall go to the bathroom then. My stomach hurts." Ash excused himself. He had his haversack on him from the beginning till the end.

In the bathroom, Ash began working on his chemical weapon. The formula used to craft this chemical weapon was designed by the scientists in Nexus. The chemicals needed were all harmless by themselves, but put together in the correct volume, it would released hydrogen sulphide that can easily kill anyone that inhales this gas.

Ash took out his small blue water bottle that actually had a secondary function of being a bomb casing. Built in with remote detonation, Ash could cause the bottle to blow up within a 50 kilometre radius. He skilfully mixed in the chemicals. The steps to making such a deadly chemical weapon was deeply engrained in his head. As the finished putting in the last chemical, Ash immediately sealed up the bottle. Hydrogen sulphide would be produced when it came in contact with oxygen.

The chemical weapon was finish. Ash kept it in his haversack once more and flushed the toilet. He left with a calm expression. When he came back, he was told that the Operations Room's vents needed to be checked through as the LED signal was broken. He and Frank left for the check after seeking approval from the Immortal Blood's Gang. At the door, they were given access.

Inside the Operations Room, everyone was minding their own business and doing their work. They didn't even cast a cursory glance over the cleaning company. There was only one person he had to be careful of, and that was the two guards in the room. Luckily, one of the vents was hidden behind a desk. As such, it provided Ash with enough cover.

Frank patiently explained to Ash the procedures for the checking of vent systems. The young man however was busy looking for a spot to hide his small water bottle. In the end, he settled for an inconspicuous gap between two desks in the corner. Twisting one his watches' button, Ash removed a small device that was embedded within the watch. It was a micro camera. This way, Ash would be able to view what was happening in the room at any point in time. He placed it on top of the computer's central processing unit. It blended in perfectly and provided a better view of the whole room. Everything was set up and ready for the assassination.
